"May!" Peter swoops in from somewhere and envelops the woman in a reasonably warm hug, pretty much picking her slightly off the ground and into his arms with a sizable smile. He frequently forgot his own strength but most importantly, overtaken by love, most caution was not present.

Whether or not he consciously knew it, it was probably the former. Peter never paid much attention to mythologies or anything like that. It just wasn't his thing. So perhaps he was just zoning in on the woman's overwhelming display of.....something unique. He couldn't quite name it. It was hard to straight up tell someone they just seemed intriguing. So what was he supposed to say or do here? He appreciated her kindness and well, tolerance of his awkwardness, but he really was grasping at straws. At least, until, she said that last part. Peter searched her expression for a moment, wondering, before taking her hand in his own and shaking it softly, smiling back at her.

"Brother-in-law?" This would be easier with a name. But he suspected it was on purpose. "Sigyn. That's a nice name. And a really distinct one. I uh, I mean that in a good way. I'm Peter."

An amused smile quirked over her mouth as she watched him. ❝Well, I don't think we've crossed paths before, and I have a pretty good memory.❞

It was possible that he knew OF her, if he'd read the right old stories. But, she found it more likely that, perhaps he had a general sense of her otherness. She wasn't human after all (not technically Asgardian either, though she lived there, but that was another matter entirely). And if he'd picked up on that, well, that was interesting.

Peter soon joined her on the floor. It was really nice to have company. May worked....a lot. And he knew it was so she could provide for him. But it meant when he wasn't at school, like now, with summer vacation, he spent a lot of time alone. Maybe he should've spent his time seeking friends his own age but as a previous victim of bullying, the child preferred the company of those he could trust. But to be honest, you could only talk to an Iron Man action figure for so long before you needed real human contact. Thus, having Phee here to share cookies with was a lifesaver.

She was a messy eater too, huh? Guess that was something you could not grow out of? Peter couldn't help but giggle a little at the mess she made though as he began to eat to it wasn't like he was the neatest eater either.

"I help her sometimes. But she does all the real magic. But I'm good with converting cooking times between Fahrenheit and Celsius! There's a whole equation for it." He looked back at her full of love. "I don't know I have a favorite....that's too hard of a choice."

Closing her laptop, Phee moved it to the side as Peter joined her on more solid ground. “Just cause you’re used to it, doesn’t mean that I am. Humor me, spider boy.”

Taking one of the cookies, she took a small bite before humming in content. “Mhm, May is so talented in the kitchen. Way better than I am. I end up burning even the pre-made cookie dough.” She admitted, catching the crumbs before they fall onto her lap. “What’s your favorite cookie then? I’m a sucker for a good chocolate chip, but I do enjoy oatmeal raisin as well.”

"I guess I was mostly just curious how it works. You don't tend to- or well, I haven't tended to come across people with powers that affect others physiological functioning very often." What a nerd. Why was he nervous? Mantis was the least nerve-inducing person in the world! Don't be dumb, Parker! He idly plays with his hands, thinking, before finally looking back up at her. "I do have trouble sleeping sometimes. I think it's pretty normal after what I've gone through. But it can get bad." Really bad. 3 days of no sleep from nightmares bad. But she doesn't need to know that.

A blink, head tilting to look at the young human. His question is asked with disarming innocence, and Mantis smiles warmly.

"I can do that, yes. Though I don't know how exactly. I initiate physical contact, then I tell them to sleep, and... they do." She blinks again. Her expression morphs into something more concerned. "Why do you ask, young one? Do you have trouble sleeping?"

Was it a compliment that Byan thought he was a cosplayer? Damn! What kinda cosplayers has this kid been seeing? And how'd they one-up the actual original? Peter never went to Comic-con but maybe those folk know what they're doing. He isn't sure how to respond immediately; either to the other's confrontational nature and sayings but he soon gets himself together and goes to respond.

"Why would I do that? Heck, why would anyone do that? It'd be a waste of a perfectly good donut. And I don't do the shoving thing. Not unless you do something worthy of being shoved. Which you haven't. Unless you did something I didn't know about." Stop yapping. Peter still held out the pastry for them to take. Just in case they changed their mind.

"The angle is food is expensive. An' I got an extra donut. I....want to share to someone who conviently doesn't have a donut. That's my angle." He rests his free hand on his hip, the other still offering the donut bag with a bit of a shake to them. "You still don't want it?"

ㅤthe words 'not to be weird or anything' coming at them on a masc-sounding voice is more than enough to have byan reaching for the knife in their pocket. head whipping up with a snarl already curling their lips, they're almost immediately brought to a dumbfounded halt — both by the way he finishes the statement, and by the sight before them.

I'm going to focus on managing my time here better, as I've noticed I can get overwhelmed when I'm too invested. I still want to reply to threads, but I'll be doing so at a slower pace.

I'm always open to constructive feedback if there's anything I could be doing better in my interactions. My goal is to improve, and I'm open to any advice or suggestions you might have. I understand that people might block or disengage for their own reasons, and I'll respect that by not reaching out.

I thought I was back and good to go but I’m starting to feel anxious again and after being confronted with a few more people who blocked me I’m thinking even a month wasn’t enough. But I do miss writing. I know it’s my fault. I must’ve done something to keep getting blocked. But I never know what it is. I don’t want to be a nuisance to people I just want to have fun. I don’t really know what to do from here on out.

Am I doing something something wrong? If I am I want to fix it.
