5 Finger breathing

Tips: When you trace up breathe in slowly and when you trace down breathe out slowly

1. Stretch out a hand and spread them till you have enough space between them to trace

2. Now hold out one finger from your opposite hand to trace with

3. Start to trace from the bottom of your thumb slowly breathing out of your mouth as you trace down the other side

4. Once at the top of your thumb slowly breathe out of your nose as you trace down the other side

5. Repeat this for all of your fingers until you have traced your whole hand then repeat moving back the opposite way as much as you need

Non-Verbal

Non-verbal by definition is not involving or using words or speech. Going non-verbal is very sensitive to many It can make them feel frightened or upset. What can being non-verbal look like? wiggles, pointing, hiding, pouting, yawning, stomping their feet, grabby hands, and many more. Can the regressor talk during this time? No they can not so it is important to find other solutions to talking maybe simple gestures or sign language example; clapping your hands when you mean yes. Most kids are not fully nonverbal instead they might say single words such as ‘mama’ or ‘parent’ and even a few phrases, often ones that they repeat over and over without much context.

What is pet regression?

Pet regression is a safe state of mind where a regressor can feel free of responsibilities. The regressor goes into a pet-like state of mind it can be from any pet or animal + tigers, bunnies, and sharks. It is similar to the way young children pretend they try to mimic animals. Pet regressors might find they resemble a separate animal, maybe a puppy because of your love for bouncing and teething. It all depends on your interests. Many pet regressors regress for trauma, to help them relax/fall asleep and for fun regressing to a pet can be incredibly beneficial to the regressor, often helping them cope with icky feelings. When someone regresses we usually call this headspace pet-space but not everyone wants to call it this. In pet regression, the regressors can have parents. The regressor might want a parent because they need simple reminders or they feel safer with somebody around to help guide them in this headspace.
