Summary: Sundays are everyone's favourite day

It’s a Sunday, one of those lazy ones where Caroline wants to do nothing but lounge around in the house, making pancakes and watching TV and picking flowers with her daughter in the backyard.

Unfortunately, Klaus had few things he has to take care of at his lab—apparently one of his grads had ended up spilling aqua regia over his glial cell structures, which had left him in an absolutely foul mood; honestly, Caroline pities the poor schmuck who had found himself in the unfortunate position of spilling dangerous chemicals on cell cultures that belonged to the most terrifying assistant professor in the university—and had to leave early in the morning to A: redo his cell cultures to finish his publication on time and B: reduce the poor, incompetent grad student to tears.

“Sunday, huh,” Caroline had tried in the morning. The look on Klaus’s face when he had stomped down that morning after reading his emails—at six in the morning, no less—had been enough to alert her he was in a spectacularly bad mood. “You have grads working on Sundays?”

“If it’s Gilbert,” Klaus had snarled pouring them both cups of coffee and adding a liberal amount of cream to hers, just the way she liked it, “I will drown him in the same carbon tetrachloride he used to taint the lab curtains last week.”

“He’s twenty-three, Klaus.”

“He’s also incompetent. I'd been working on those cell structures for bloody weeks. I have to finish my paper by next Friday. I might actually kill him.”

“Klaus, Oxford frowns on homicide, and you can't go to jail, you have a daughter.”

He huffs. “Right.”

Caroline never saw good in Klaus. She never made him good. She never loved Klaus. Why? Cause she thought of him as a Monster because HE WAS A MONSTER.

Yeah, its true, Klaus will never 100% be a good man. But who inspired goodness in Klaus? Not Caroline for sure.

No one has ever made Klaus smile the way Camille did.

Did Klaus or Caroline ever say “I love you” to each other?

Did Caroline ever see goodness in Klaus?
