rewatching fairy tail and i seriously think that some fans have overlooked how powerful and important juvia's love for gray is for her very own development as, not just a person, but also as a wizard. one of the reasons why juvia's power was strong throughout phantom lord arc was because she herself was full of hatred from being called "gloomy" because she always takes the rain with her everywhere. this very fact of her always being called "gloomy" was what had driven her into taking pride in her power and used it to her advantage. her power was driven by the pain she had felt as she had always taken the rain with her all throughout her life and she felt that the way the rain had followed her was something that had helped her to become powerful. after her fight with gray during this arc, she sees the clear sky for the first time, with the help of gray's natural caring attitude and this was what made her realize that all she needed in her life was love in order to see the clear skies.

this is my interpretation to their dynamic and i truly wish that people would understand why juvia having to be such head-over-heels for gray is an important element to the story. juvia's character is VALID as she had lived her whole life being in the midst of the storm, in which she had learned to adapt and be strong within it— however, with gray's help, she didn't need to be strong within the storm anymore because he had helped her finally get away from it !!

Nightmares

Gruvia week 2018 day 6. Late (as usually) because I kept procrastinating like crazy. Anyway, I hope you’ll like it.

It was a lovely sunny day and Juvia was surprised that there was no one in the park. It was usually full of people even on rainy days. She supposed that some people were not afraid of rain. And neither was she anymore. Her days as the rain woman were over. She could enjoy the sunlight now.

She closed her eyes and sighed in content, feeling the sun rays caress her skin. Yet, something seemed off. There was a tingling under her skin. As if something was crawling underneath it.

She was suddenly hyper aware of her surroundings. There was something in the soil. No, not in. Under. It was calling to her. She could feel it in her bones, flowing through her veins. It was urging her to let it out, allow it to roam free.

Her hands started shaking from the force she was using to contain the destructive energy and she clenched her fists. Her nails dug into her skin, bringing her out of her trance. She noticed that the sunlight was gone. She looked up and saw thick dark clouds covering the sky. They had appeared so quickly. As if she had summoned them. But that wasn’t possible. The rain that had chased her all her life had been banished when she had fallen in love with Gray.

A drop of water fell on her hand, startling her. She hadn’t realized she had started crying. Her fingers brushed against her cheek but there was not a trace of moisture there. Another drop fell on her nose and her stomach got tied in knots. She outstretched her arm, her palm was turned upwards. Another raindrop landed on it. The water felt strange against her skin and was colored in a purplish shade that looked very familiar. Juvia’s eyes widened when she recognized it.

“This is my tale,” Keyes’ voice resonated in her mind.

Natsu and Lucy got a last minute Las Vegas kind of wedding for a job and they never divorced. They go by Dragneel Heartfilia for the kid because neither of them wanted to give up on their family name (had a whole fight about it)

Gray actually wanted a big classic church wedding to make sure all Fiore knew about his love for his wife. Juvia happily threw Lockser away. She was Juvia Fullbuster in her head for nearly a decade. Gray is really a doting husband ("Isn't my wife the prettiest ?" 24/7) and Juvia is sometimes embarrassed.

Levy and Gajeel actually eloped post-alvarez and they got tattoos instead of rings because Gajeel licked them so she got scared.

Jellal took Erza's name. He spoils her because he still believes he doesn't deserve her. He wanted to make her dream princess wedding come true but the hotel venue got cancelled last minute, her dress got ruined, Gajeel's daughter ate the rings and they had a fight. They finally got married drenched by rain in the guild hall by Makarov and it was so much better than anything else.
