Hey everyone! As my first post I thought I would share my thoughts on the Kiss of Life Situation. Overall, this is MY opinion on the situation, so feel free but keep it respectful! <3

WARNING: I'm not trying to shame or promote the cancellation of Kiss of Life, but I do personally believe that their "Birthday Live" was taken too far.

While I don't think their outfits we're necessarily racist, I do think that certain actions in the live we're very unnecessary and can be taken offensively. As an example, some of the members can be seen using some type of "slang" which was very confusing as well as annoying. With this, many excuses we're used, such as, "They we're only trying to be/cosplaying rappers", but even if they we're just cosplaying rappers, the only thing they're doing is promoting stereotypes because last time I checked not ALL rappers talk like this.

This isn't the FIRST time KIOF has had to apologize for racism. I've seen a lot of people saying, "They've already apologized so get over it" or "They didn't know any better". Starting off with the first remark, this isn't the first time KIOF has been caught in racial controversies. Now obviously there are pre-debut videos of Julie saying the n-word while singing a song. I won't hate on her for this since it was pre-debut, but she is FROM AMERICA sooo.... Now with this issue, Julie did make an apology sooo that was THE FIRST STRIKE. Now, Julie decides to throw a "birthday party" with an old-school, hip hop theme (the picture at the beginning). Just like I addressed in the first point, they did do certain actions that we're personally offensive. STRIKE TWO. Ultimately, fans have been acting like these GROWN WOMEN don't have any type of brain cells. I know that Haneul was born in Korea, so she has "somewhat of an excuse" BUT the other members are very much fluent in English and WERE BORN in America. As a 16-year-old myself, y'all can't justify these actions just by saying "they didn't know any better." They have fans from all over the world, who come from different backgrounds and ethnicities, so you can't just say they didn't know because whether you want to it admit or not, they we're wrong....

STOP trying to justify their actions by putting down other idols or groups. This topic is a big issue for me, because I've seen a lot of people trying to call out groups like Blackpink to justify KIOF's actions. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of K-pop idols who have also done very offensive and racist actions but calling out other groups doesn't change the fact that KIOF was wrong in some way. Now with this, I'm not saying that KIOF needs to be fully cancelled, but I do believe that fans (no matter what race or ethnicity) should be able to use their logic and hold these idols accountable instead of putting down others in order to "justify" their mistakes. The only group I truly personally stan is ENHYPEN, and even they've been getting called out on stuff that was offensive to certain races. Ultimately, certain fans can't accept when their idols are doing something wrong and I think it's an issue that needs to be fixed because ITS 2025!

Author's Note: Ultimately, I just wanted to say that while some people may be taking "the racist accusations" slightly far, these are grown adults who have fans from all over the world. They're not kids and they certainly aren't stupid, so even though I don't think they need to be full cancelled I do believe in holding people accountable for their actions! Hey everyone! As my first post I thought I would share my thoughts on the Kiss of Life Situation.
