wcrden asked: ❛ how lucky i am, to wake up next to the most gorgeous sight in fontaine. maybe i should make an effort to wake up sooner, so i can watch my heart's desire for a little longer. ❜
What a sentimental man he had sharing his bed then, speaking such awfully sweet things in the morning. Comfort was unparalleled when it was with him sharing it and his fingers gently reached out to straighten his tussled hair back, revealing his perfectly gorgeous features. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against the tip of his nose, the apple of his cheek and the point of his chin before pulling back and looking at him again. ❝Then you would just find me, doing the same thing at you.❞
wcrden asked: he may or may not deliver a swift little pat to neuvillette's rear in passing— in the comfort of the iudex' flat, of course.
He didn't think much about it when he patted his behind, after all, Wriothesley often had his hands on his body in some shape or form. He had to admit, though, it did feel nice to be appreciated in such a way and to feel desired and it had him smirk softly as he passed him. It wasn't unpleasant after all, like with everything before, the moment Neuvillette had the chance to offer the same back, he patted Wriothesley's rear as well.
wcrden asked: ❛ neuvillette, ❜ he calls, ever so sweetly, and grasps his hand to press a kiss to his knuckles. ❛ you are the most gorgeous man i have ever seen, and you make me happier with each day we are together. ❜
He smiles just as sweetly, his hand turning to tangle their fingers together and gently pulls him towards himself. His lips are upon his, his arm coming around his middle and pulling him closer to himself as he kisses him sweetly. When they part, his nose gently rests against his.
❝And you make my days more loving each time you are with me, my heart.❞
wcrden asked: ❛ you have the most beautiful eyes i have ever seen. i could stare at them all day, honestly. ❜
❝I do have to look down or away sometimes, my love.❞ He muses, though for the moment holding his gaze. After all, who was he to deny him anything that he could give him?

wcrden asked:
❛ neuvillette, ❜ he chimed sweetly, steadily moving closer to the iudex, disregarding that while the doors were closed, they were still at his office. boldly, he sets his hands against his waist, and draws him gently closer, unless he truly showed resistance. next, he places a kiss to his jaw, and another along the line of it, trailing them higher, and letting them grow more and more open. ❛ i don't have it in me to resist you today, ❜ he whispers against his ear, finally.
He wasn't so much disappointed in Wriothesley as much as he was in himself in that moment. He should have known he would close the distance between them when he called him so sweetly and he should have created it when he felt his hands on his waist and his lips on his jaw. They talked about this, of course, and Neuvillette had made it perfectly clear that his professionalism and his status as the iudex would always come first.
He thought it a terrible thought but it was a necessity to remain impartial before the public and felt the soft bubbling of guilt spread horribly over his chest.
Pulling away seemed like a cruel decision but Neuvillette pressed his hand against Wriothesley's chest and gently, lightly pushed him away after his whispered words, taking a step back himself. ❝You must.❞ He said and his chest felt heavy, his brows stitching to form a frown. He had precious little time with his beloved and it felt unjust and cruel to push him away when he was seeking him out but they both had to adhere to certain boundaries established when their relationship began. ❝We are in my office, after all.❞ He cleared his throat and circled around his desk, taking a seat behind him and creating further distance between the two.

wcrden asked: ❛ so, what would you say your type is ? of person. i am excluded as an answer. ❜
He stared Wriothesley for a moment, incredulous of his question but with it already posed and his beloved awaiting an answer, though the dragon couldn't possibly imagine what he expected him to say.
❝Very well, then.❞ He cleared his throat and looked away, his expression growing pensive. ❝My type of person is someone kind with a strict sense of justice they uphold no matter what. They look out for their community, striving to better the lives of the people others would look past and they protect those others would exploit. They're dedicated and smart and oftentimes hide their true intentions behind humour. Their wit could only be matched by their perceptiveness of the world around them and they are ruthless when they have to be. Preferably their favourite hobbies would be boxing and drinking tea and they would be tall and muscular in build with short black hair and greying far too early for their age. That is what I would say my type of person is.❞

wcrden asked:
he comes up from behind him, snatches his hand and presses a soft kiss to gloves knuckles, bending down slightly to do so, and offering an ever so charming wink along the way.
What fool would he be to deny him anything? He was a trickster, a charmer, sneaking up on him like that and being awfully smug about it, to boot. And yet as Neuvillette watched him bend his back to press a kiss to his gloved hand, he could feel a gentle warmth spread along his chest. A soft longing to see his smile spread over his cheeks as he playfully teased Neuvillette with gestures he wouldn't think of and for the moment he forgot they had yet entered his office or his apartment and his gaze softened, affection clear in his colorful gaze as his hand turned and grasped at his chin gently. The Palais Mermonia was empty in the late hours and Neuvillette longed to see him smile so he nudged him straight and leaned closer himself before closing his lips around his for the briefest and most tender of kisses.

wcrden asked:
he doesn't show for a couple of days; neither at neuvillette's home, nor the palais mermonia, though should he inquire with any meropide staff, they are likely to inform that all is well, the duke just happens to be horrendously busy due to a number of individually tame incidents cropping up at once.
He was happy to hear, at the very least, that the matters that tied Wriothesley's hands to the fortress were not too dire. The matter of work keeping them busy was something that was to be expected in their professions and in the coming years, he expected such incidents to happen more frequently than not. Cases that would require more of the iudex's attention or matters of the fortress that would have its Duke unable to leave. He would never expect to take precedent over work just like he never expected Wriothesely to ask him to drop all of his and pay attention to him.
Still, absolutely no harm would come from him visiting him, just to see if he was doing well.
The sun was very low on the horizon when he descended the stairs to the underwater station and by the time he arrived at the fortress' front doors, it would have long descended as well. He made himself known to the guards and the front clerk and informed them he was here for a meeting with the Duke. He didn't need an escort as he was well aware where his office was and made his way as inconspicuously as he could to its main doors. They opened with their usual tired, metallic groan and Neuvillette expected at least some sort of acknowledgment from the overhead office but when he was met with silence, he grew curious.
Quietly, he ascended, finding a Wriothesley now deep in slumber hunched over his desk, surrounded by paperwork and documents he usually didn't find him in. He stared, bewildered for a moment but soon quietly approached and a soft sigh escaped his lips. It didn't seem like he was taking care of himself as well as he had hoped and if anything indicated his exhaustion, it was that he had fallen asleep so early and amidst work. It wouldn't do to wake him and to scold him, it wouldn't do to just let him sleep hunched over his desk either. Neuvillette crouched before him and pondered, watch his peaceful, sleeping features and came to a conclusion; he would make sure he slept through the night and have a peaceful morning before returning to work, dealing with his tasks with a clear and level head.
He picked him up, carefully and with all the care in the world and cradled him in his arms. If he awoke while moved, he didn't indicate and the dragon took that to mean he was fine to proceed. He brought him into his cramped and small cabin, laid him on his bed and began to pull the most uncomfortable clothing off of him; his boots, his chains, unwrapping his bandages lest he roll over too restlessly in bed and tightened them and left him only with his shirt and his trousers. Then, he repeated the same for himself and laid down next to him, turning the duke around so he could face him. He doubted he was still truly and deeply asleep, knowing just how much of a light sleeper he was but at the very least he still seemed to be dozing. Neuvillette smiled, brushed his hair off his forehead and pressed his lips gently against his, a kiss that was a feather's touch, meant to assure his sleeping mind rather than wake and he wrapped his arm around his middle.
❝Rest well, my beloved.❞

That Fontaine yet stood untouched by Celestia's mire was something he found heavily suspicious. Too many of their nails plagued the land of Teyvat across all nations from not to believe Focalor's sacrifice would go unnoticed or unpunished. The prophecy transpired as they had foretold but the hydro archon's seat wasn't vacant -- it did not exist anymore. Perhaps they did not notice because its authority didn't return to Celestia but rather to him and perhaps him still doing some of the archon's duties -- like setting aside a fraction of his power for their visions -- was keeping them from looking over but Neuvillette constantly lived on edge.
These were worries he couldn't share with anyone and that he kept close to his heart. Whether he could brave Celestia's wrath was still something he was uncertain of -- after all, his kin had fallen once before them and he didn't know how many still roamed Teyvat -- if any at all. He certainly didn't expect to catch sight of one right at his doorstep, so to speak. In a form similar to his own, walking on two feet contained in a body fraction of the size it should be, it had him stare at the snow haired man from a distance. He excused himself from his company quickly after that familiar feeling in him stirred but was unsure how to approach the stranger staring back, other than to walk towards him in silence, hands clasping his cane as he stopped before him and continued his silent watch. At least this way, they weren't attracting attention by being meters apart.
@iudcx liked for a starter !
dragged to fontaine by none other than the menace of chaos himself, arlo went into the whole trip prepared for the worst. a nation in such turmoil would clearly draw celestia's gaze, something he was not at all eager to be on the receiving end of. on top of that, their iudex was quite clearly some sort of non-mortal being, given amdusias had heard of him far too long ago for any normal human to legitimately live. he wandered the streets of the court of fontaine carefully, with his eyes always peeled, mainly intrigued by the melusines he spotted wandering the streets, but not negatively so. they did seem quite endearing, in an odd way, and while jude was surely busy getting himself into some sort of trouble, arlo instead elected to peacefully explore.
he had only just come to a halt near the palais mermonia, a building he ended up at half by chance, half because he did want to enjoy some of the sights, despite his hesitance to make the trip. said sight-seeing was forced to a stop when he spotted a figure emerging from the building. the chief justice was known even outside the nation, but seeing him in person was a different matter entirely. amdusias barely required more than a moment to come to a clear conclusion; he was looking at kin. his brows furrowed gently, but he elected to quietly regard him, rather than to approach the other, curious whether the iudex would come to a similar conclusion.

wcrden asked: ❛ how do you feel about cats ? i think i saw one that looked just like our esteemed chief justice. ❜
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
He paused and looked to Wriothesley with his eyes slightly narrowed. ❝Perhaps I should put it into law that it is forbidden to dress household pets as the nation's iudex.❞ He said dryly. ❝I have no opinions on cats personally, though I have the sense that they don't particularly like me.❞

wcrden asked: ❛ would you like me on my knees for you, my love ? ❜

❝Why ever would I want that?❞ He questioned, brows knitted together in confusion. ❝I would never put you in such a position. We are equals.❞

He would never fault him for his concern when he himself worried about the warden a touch more than he worried about himself but he knew his limits well. He was a being ancient, ageless and with more time on his hands than Wriothesley could possibly comprehend. A day was short, a decade a blink of an eye and if he didn't take a break in a single day, it certainly wouldn't break him. But he knew very well that his time with Wriothesley would be limited and so short in comparison to his vast life that he couldn't deny him such a simple request. His gaze softened and his caught hand gently shifted until his fingers could tangle delicately with his, his expression soft with affection. ❝I know.❞ He said and tilted his head in thought. ❝A walk would be nice. Would you like to lead the way?❞
of course he wouldn't simply stop harbour concern for the iudex at the drop of a hat. while neuvillette was a very capable man, and tougher than most in more ways than one, he was also simply an individual, with his own limits and burdens. breaks, as trivial as it may have sounded, were important especially for someone with such copious amounts of responsibility. ❛ we both know that it's not always that simple, ❜ he pointed out, softly, and when fingers touched to his palm, he let his own wrap gently around the other's wrist, to keep him close. ❛ what are you thinking, then; café ? a walk ? a trip to your place ? ❜

There was just a subtle shift if the iudex's pose, his back standing just a touch more upright and his expression a little brighter and he nodded to the scholar. ❝The water in Liyue and Sumeru differ quite spectacularly.❞ He began, his voice adopting just a softer, more excited pitch. ❝Liyue's water lingers on one's tongue, it is softer and fresher while Sumeru's has a rather rich profile with a complexity I can't find anywhere else.❞ His fingers touched to his chin and he pondered. "The rainforest and its many flora are the likely cause for such complex flavours while the mountains and valleys of Liyue keep its rivers fresh and crisp. I recommend you try for yourself and taste the difference in every nation."
The scholar blink a few times and rested a hand on chin. Alhaitham knew he could be, particular, when it came to his food and drinks. Other's might call him picky, but he liked what he liked. It didn't mean he was against trying new things. He just noticed when things tasted different.
"Water quality. That would explain why Liyuan tea tastes different in Liyue verses when I make it at home too. I thought it might be a difference in the quality of leaves. I hadn't considered that variable before," He nodded thoughtfully. "I'll have to take home some Fontiane teas to test this theory,"
