Ivan did feel a bit of unease at describing his situation with Patrick as 'not sure what else', but didn't want to drop to 'boyfriend' or something else bomb on him without them talking about that first. He looked at him when he felt the soft squeeze in his hand and gave him one back, glad to see Patrick apparently had caught Ivan's struggle through that sudden pickle they were in. A couple of seconds went by until Cruz finally walked up to where they were, and he held Ivan's face with both hands, a bright, big smile on his face. "What matters is that you're happy, and if this is what makes you happy, then it's fine with me. You're my filho, and that's all there is. I love you." He pulled him into a tight hug, which made his hand fall from Patrick's hold, and he hugged Cruz back, a small tear rolling down his face. A happy tear. When they pulled back the older man looked at Patrick and extended his hand. "Welcome to the family then, Patrick."

Patrick's words sounded muffled, as if he was talking to him from outside the pool while Ivan had his head under the water. Far away. But when he caught look of the other's face he realized he hadn't moved or spoken ever since he saw his father standing there, now staring at them with his mouth hung open. "Huh-? Oh, um... I- uh..." He sighed and cleared his throat before he quickly put himself back inside his trousers and he rubbed his hands together nervously at first, then finally looked at his dad again and took a breath. "Pai... This is not how I wanted to tell you this, I promise..." he started saying, now Cruz putting his suitcase to the side and rubbing the back of his neck. "I suppose it's on me for not letting you know I was coming here straight from the airport" he said, and Ivan chuckled. "In fact, I think knocking the door would've been an even better idea, Pai." Cruz chuckled and nodded. "I know, I know... But I did want to surprise you, and... well-"

Ivan looked back at Patrick and reached for his hand. "This is Patrick Blanco, a classmate and friend, and- well..." He looked at him and smiled. "Not sure what else yet, but here we are." He looked back at Cruz, who was still processing the whole situation infront of him. "And before you ask, I'll tell you. I'm bisexual, Pai. And I've realized that a long time ago, but I didn't want to acknowledge it, thinking that perhaps if I didn't act on it..." He shrugged, then looked at Patrick again. "Then I met Patrick, and there was no way I could keep on fooling myself. I'm sorry if... that disappoints you."

Ivan chuckled into the kiss when he caught Patrick's words about him rubbing so many other things on him, of which he had no doubt of, but his mind was soon spinning with delight with the way the other was kissing, him always able to take his breath away with every stroke of his lips, his tongue, all of him. That had to mean something, right? "Thank you, Patrick. Maybe I haven't- No. I know I haven't been the easiest person to deal with, with me not coming out fully. But since I met you-" He chuckled. "I guess I feel lucky to have found someone who's so brave, and maybe some of that bravery can rub on me, right?" He smiled and put his arms around Patrick's neck. "Completely" he simply said, then he pushed Patrick back with his body until he was pinned against the nearest wall, their lips now devouring one another with hunger, while he sneaked his hand inside Patrick's trousers and fondled him over his briefs.

Needless to say Ivan was on some sort of edge that day, the day they were suppose to have Christmas dinner with both his father, Cruz, and Patrick's twin sister, Ari. Patrick wasn't that keen to disclose much when it came to his sister, so Ivan wasn't sure yet what to expect, but the same couldn't be said about his father. Truth be told, he dreaded what could happen that night, with his father always hungry to be the center of attention, so he had to keep fingers and toes crossed they would all come out somewhat unscathed by the end of the night.

Dressed in dark grey trousers and a white shirt, half loosen black tie, and an also dark grey coat hanging on a nearby chair, he was fixing his hair, still damped from his recent shower, when he heard the knock on the door, and his smile couldn't get any bigger when he saw Patrick standing there when he opened it. "Just the person I was looking forward to see the most" he said with a chuckle, then took his hand and led him inside. "You're here early!" he said, checking his watch. "We still have a good half an hour before we have to go to the hotel and let the carnage begin." He pulled him close and smiled.

You're not going home for the holidays?

I'd normally be doing Christmas with my family, in London, but my Dad is away for work, and one of my sister's can't make it either. I was planning on just getting drunk somewhere in Europe but I definitely could be persuaded to stay in NYC, especially if you are. Though my sister may visit at some point over the holidays.

Ivan chuckled. "The longing made it much better" he concluded with a nod, then hummed softly at the soft kiss to the top of his head, then he turned his head up to look at him. "Hmm, you were. That's one of the many things I was attracted to you for. The rest- well, you'll just have to find out in time, don't you?" Both chuckled and held onto one another warmly. "Good call. Both things" he said with a teasing tone, giving a wink and another soft kiss, then they both relaxed into each other's embrace. It wouldn't be by far the last time that night, but it was for sure a perfect ending for their first one.

Ivan chuckled too and pulled Patrick down on the bed with him as they kissed, now taking their time to savour and let the rush of what just had happened run freely through them with that kiss.
