Hysteroscopy is the process of examining the uterine cavity with the help of endoscopy inside the uterus. It can be used to treat the cause of abnormal bleeding. It allows the doctor to look inside your uterus to examine the main problem or to know about your reproduction health. It can be either diagnostic or operative. Diagnostic Hysteroscopy is used to examine or diagnose the problem in the uterus. It also confirms the result of hysterosalpingography (HSG). Laparoscopy may be used to diagnosis infertility or to treat fertility problems in women. Laparoscopy surgical procedure involves making one, two, or three very small cuts in the abdomen, through which the doctor inserts a laparoscope and specialized surgical instruments. A laparoscope instrument is a thin, fiber-optic tube, fitted with a light and camera. Usually, Laparoscopic surgery suggested only after another infertility testing has been completed, or if symptoms warrant testing.

PGD- refers to preimplantation genetic Diagnosis. PGD involves screening cells from embryos for genetic defects and disorder. The embryos used in PGD are usually created during the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF). PGD is an extremely useful for couples who are carriers of an inherited genetic disorder. PGD has enabled us to dramatically increase the rates for successful pregnancy in many couples that have failed repeated IVF cycles. The accuracy for these techniques is nearly 98%.

Laser-assisted hatching is one of the Infertility treatments to help the fertilized egg to hatch and attach to the uterus. Laser-assisted hatching is a gentle and safe way to crack a part of zona pellucida. Assisted hatching is sometimes used in conjunction with IVF treatment. Assisted hatching is helped with the embryo implantation. In this process, the outer shell of the embryo is artificially weakened by making a small hole in the zona pellucida. This can be done in two ways. One method involves an acid solution, known as Tyrode’s solution which to help melt a small hole in the shell. Another method involves the use of a laser to weaken the shell. After treating the fertilized egg with laser-assisted hatching, the embryo transfer into the woman’s womb.

A blastocyst is an embryo that has been left to develop until day 5 or 6. It has a more complex cellular structure formed by approximately 200 cells. The blastocyst phase is the prior development stage to implantation of the embryo in the mother’s uterus. The transfer of blastocysts allowed one or two blastocysts to be transferred with high implantation potential. It also minimizes the risks of multiple pregnancies. Single blastocyst transfer completely avoids twin pregnancy. The advantage of growing embryos to the blastocyst stage is that they should have a more chance of implantation because the phase of embryo development matches the uterine environment.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is an advanced form of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). ICSI involves the injection of a single sperm directly into a mature egg using very fine micro-manipulation equipment. ICSI itself is very successful at helping the sperm and the egg to fertilize. Fertilization happens in around 90% of cases. Every 10 mature eggs obtained and combined with the sperm either with IVF or ICSI, approximately five to six will fertilize normally. ICSI has not been shown to increase fertilization rates in situations where the sperm assessment is normal.

IUI stands for in intrauterine insemination. It’s also sometimes called Artificial insemination, alternative insemination, or donor insemination. IUI works by inserting sperm cells into the uterus at the time of ovulation. It is helping the sperm get closer to your egg, it reduces the time and distance of sperm reach the uterus and making it easier to fertilize the egg.
