Ramblings

Coquitlam is further North than Richmond and seems to have a lot more rural areas going on, more trees, more parks, it’s closer to the mountains. Would be a good place to have privacy but it is further away from Vancouver which means a longer drive. Nothing is really said about the city in any of the books from what I can find so I can’t say if the Garou would have any place of importance in that area or if either the Sabbat or the Camarilla have set up shop. 

Given its abundance of greenery I would be more inclined to believe that maybe there might be more garou or other things living there than vampires...but I could also be wrong. 

Richmond seems to be way more industrialized which could have the benefits of never really needing to go far for a meal. However more people can also mean more danger and who is to really say what the dynamic of the city is. While it is closer to Vancouver that could also mean that competition in the city is more fierce. 

And then there’s the other matter of cost of living and whether or not the duo could feel more at ease in a city surrounded by people, or further out in the country.

Omg. So looking at the housing market for places outside of Vancouver...Burnaby is out because omg that is expensive. Maybe Richmond or Coquitlam. 

Makes me wonder just how many supernatural peeps are living in the areas outside of Vancouver. I mean if they cant live inside the city logically the next best thing to do would be to live just outside of it. 

But also outside of the Vancouvers borders the treaty doesn’t exist, so that would mean no protection.

More things about Vancouver

Necross, the Malkavian Methuselah, is actually in charge of the local nosferatu population and they near worship him. He apparently also has good standing with the local Garou. 

Siegfried has no idea that Necross is the one in charge of the nosferatu. 

THE PIT is apparently a Wyrm Caern filled with the toxic energy of the Wrym as well as a pack of black spiral dancers living within it as a hive. 

The local mage population built a casino over the pit

The casino is tied to and is also a cover for Pentex

Pentex are literally captain planet villains. They started off as an oil company but now after the corrupting forces of the wyrm, wish to corrupt the world spiritually, morally, and environmentally.

Things about Vancouver

It’s described as being drenched in eternal rain and shadow at night, but with the gargoyles replaced by neon signs and huge video boards. 

Prince Siegfried does not have a typical primogen council, he doesn’t have one at all and in fact all clan gatherings are forbidden because he doesn’t want them conspiring against him. 

Only 20 kindred are allowed to live in the city at any point in time. 

Embraces and entry into living in the city rarely happen

Killing a mortal even accidentally is punishable by final death

The prince doesn’t give a shit about your grudge with anyone and will not tolerate it

The local garou population often visit the kindred prince to relay news

there is a tumultuous peace between the kindred and the werewolves

It is in fact and independent city (something torrie would adore and begrudges their forced camarilla status even more now

The entire city is an Elysium 

Brujha, Malkavians, and Caitiff are banned from the city because they cause too much disturbance and can only be allowed in if accompanied by a member of another clan

Beneath Vancouver is the subterranean library created by the nosferatu and the malkavian methuselah Necross

members all 13 tribes of Garou are present in the city and are not afraid to exterminate vampires if they break the rules

Mages have built a casino

I long debated on whether or not Torrie would finally settle up in Canada for awhile, and I finally went with it and looked at the list AND MANAGED TO PICK OUT BOTH OF THE SABBAT CITIES FIRST. Cause torrie showing up to either of those with Eila in tow wouldn’t have caused a stir at all. 

Anyways on a scale of 1 to 10 I wonder how stressed Sigfried would be if Torrie parked themselves a couple of miles from his city.
