I was also thinking about a possible connection with Seven when in the first verse she sings about a swing:

In the trees

With Pennsylvania under me

Then in Peter when she sings "I hoped you'd return with your feet on the ground" maybe she's talking to the same version of herself in both songs since they also share similar themes

Hi I haven’t been on here in a while but was wondering if anyone else made the connection with the song Peter being Taylor’s inner self (gay) talking to her outward self (the Taylor Swift)

I was listening this morning and it all just made so much sense:

Peter is Taylor Swift, her outward persona who has been the (lost) fearless leader for her whole career

“In closets like cedar / preserved from when we were just kids”

Closeted since they (both Taylor’s) started in the music industry

“The goddess of timing once found us beguiling / she said she was trying, Peter was she lying?”

This line seems to say how they have been searching for the right time to come forward to make her coming out in the perfect light but the time never came

“I thought it was just goodbye for now / you said you were gonna grow up / then you were gonna come find me”

Inner Taylor saying to outward Taylor how you were supposed to come back and get me and bring me to the light with you, be her true inner self

“Are you still a mind reader? A natural scene stealer?… But life was always easier on you”

Life was easier for hetero Taylor in the public eye and rise to fame

“And I won’t confess that I waited, but I let the lamp burn / as the men masqueraded, I hoped you’d return with your feet on the ground / tell me all that you learned”

This is a clear picture of inner Taylor waiting for the right time with outer Taylor, as she used the men for show

Seems like a planned coming out potentially during the 1989 era when she was 25 and at a peak in her career, but as we know that all changed with kissgate and the Kimye drama which led us to reputation

She asks Peter (outer Taylor) to forgive her because she can’t wait any longer

I think a coming out is on the horizon! Fingers crossed everyone gets to see Taylor’s truth🤞🏼🫶🏼

It's a nice message, I have to say with all the recent shenanigans it's refreshing to have some old "friends" pop back in. As the queen said:

After celebration comes disappointment, it's always like this with Taylor one step forward 20 steps back. Even if she doesn't end up bearding with the man the whole thing is just gross. Seriously when will it be enough for her?? How much money could you possibly want in life? How much further do you want to get? She's already one of the most influential people in the world and it's still not enough for her?! She just CAN'T for the life of her be single and why?! Do you really need a man or a partner to validate you? To complete you? Can't say no to a man who insists? What kind of medieval message is that?! It's just so frustrating!

These narratives are what set women back.

I think I finally get why in many songs she paints herself to be the bad guy, maybe she is.

It will be interesting to see how they're gonna play it out, I still have my doubts on the whole situation. She's seen as the mother of the kids no matter how they plan to remove her from their life it's still going to look really bad for her unless they come out with the truth (it was a beard, those aren't her kids ecc). If I believed those were her kids I would be judging her for abandoning them... I mean a relationship can end but parenting certainly can't or shouldn't.

Assuming this comes from an insider and is correct information, she's saying it's a last minute pivot to prevent her master plan accelerating? We know she's obsessed with dates and timing so maybe this is a way to have everything lined up again, I'm choosing to see this as "the plan is still in motion"
