Cody and Seth have had three meetings since WrestleMania 40. All three were so very different.

I imagine Cody was a bit hurt that Seth doubted him, warned him not to accept Rock’s offer. So naturally, Cody had to point out that Seth’s already been compromised. I think not just because of Seth’s past but he isn’t blind about Seth’s hatred toward Punk.

The second time, Seth is compromised at last. But Seth thinks he’s doing the right thing. Cody is disappointed. The goodness he saw in Seth has been pushed aside. There’s the old Seth, the one that hated him, pushing through to the surface. But he doesn’t want to fight Seth. And Seth doesn’t want to hurt Cody either. He remembers the feelings they shared.

The third time there’s more rage. Cody has seen enough. Seth has gone after Punk so many times, but now, he’s going after his close friend Jey! Cody doesn’t want to fight. He remembers the good times they had. But this Seth, this is no longer the Seth that was his Shield. This Seth was the one he met when he returned to WWE. And that breaks his heart.
