Warnings: NSFW, slight humiliation, Simon goes from gentleman to having nasty nasty thoughts
It's a busy night - when mid-September rolls in, the nights get colder, and people gravitate towards the warm lighting of the bar through the street-front window. You still have a couple of hours left on your shift, which means Ghost still has a while, too.
He can't remember how many beers he's poured tonight. The noise of the shaker is drowned out by the buzz in his head. Mack wants another PBR. Table eleven still needs their shots and two Martinis. He's in the zone, pouring liquor and juices and bitters with practiced skill. He catches every word from the patrons at the bar - at least, every order. He mumbles out a quick "step back, please" when a gaggle of girls tries to stand near the end of the bar, waiting for their drinks. The bar is completely seated, people stuffing themselves between chairs to place their orders. Somon's got half a mind to tell them to clear out and get the fuck back, but he has to be civil. It won't be this hellish for too much longer - Price texted Simon that he'd be there in a bit to help.
Simon's more concerned about you: you're running around, delivering food and drink, bringing condiments and refilling waters - you're weaving between tables, maneuvering around bodies with a quick "sorry" or "scuse me"... you're at one table, and in the blink of an eye, you're at another. Simon sometimes doesn't realize you went into the kitchen until you're busting the door open with plates of food. You're covered in a light sheen of sweat, your usual chipper attitude dampened by the Friday night rush. Simon doesn't miss the way you scowl when you hear a table calling for you, when both of your hands are full.
You push yourself through the crowd of girls hovering by the end of the bar. You huff, grabbing a tray and some glasses. "Is it national 'Go to a Bar' day?" You mumble, squeezing behind Simon and heading to the free soda gun.
He barely makes an effort to reply. "Must be." He grunts, pulling several bottles from the shelves and setting them on the counter. He's snatching this and that - you fill your glasses with water, sliding behind him and grabbing the various drinks on the end of the back and stacking them on your tray.
A man elbowed his way between the patrons at the bar. "Can I get another DogFish IPA?" He says, sticking his glass across the bar.
Simon groans internally, but he keeps a stoic face. He quickly leans to his left and reaches for the glass - right as you were picking up your tray, now stacked with drinks. You stumble back, not expecting Simon to be so close to you, and bump into one of the girls that crowds by the bar's entrance.
Simon feels his stomach drop when he sees each of the glasses topple over. You're instantly drenched, alcohol splashing across your eyes, which you have squeezed shut from the onslaught of fluids. Your shirt is absolutely soaked; a few of the glasses fall to the ground and shatter upon impact, alerting the entire bar and making their heads turn to you - the man who handed Simon the glass is ogling at you shamelessly, and the girl you'd bumped into turns around with a simple oh…
You're frozen, eyes wide and your entire front soaking. Your white shirt is practically see-through, clinging to your skin and providing little coverage for your pink, lacy bra. You look mortified and on the verge of tears. Your panicked stare drifts to Simon - you think he's going to yell at you, or worse: give you the silent treatment for the rest of the night because he's too frustrated to speak.
Simon is trying to keep his own staring under wraps – your tits look absolutely tantalizing, hugged so tightly by your wet shirt – but he snaps out of his daze when he sees your teary eyes. He drops everything - you're the most important person in the room right now. He quickly takes the tray from you and sets it aside.
"Here-" he shoves a fresh rag into your hands. "Cover up with that." He says, taking you by your shoulders and leaning down to your level. "Third floor, there's a dresser on th' left side, second drawer has shirts. Go dry off 'n get a new shirt, I'll clean this up."
You're too stunned to cry. You're angry, embarrassed, frustrated... there's so much happening around you, so many eyes staring at your fuck-up, but Simon's eyes keep you from losing control of your emotions. He doesn’t seem angry or irate – he’s worried about you. Shouldn't you help him clean up? It's your mess after all. "But-"
"Hush. Go on, luv - you're practically see-through." He quickly turns you around and gently shoves you into the crowd, and you hurry away to the stairwell without protest, holding the rag close to your chest.
Simon sighs. The pub slowly starts to return to normal, though people aren't trying as hard to get their drinks. A sense of shame seems to hang around everyone’s heads, though there was only one party at fault, here. He stares daggers at the girls who are still hovering by the bar. The one you ran into is gawking back in fear - she knows she messed up.
"Get the fuck back." Simon seethes, storming over to the POS. They all scramble away and press against the wall, afraid he might start swinging at them. "Finish ya drinks and leave. 'M closin' your tab. You're done."
They dissipate back into the crowd, right as Soap pops his head out of the kitchen. "Heard a crash, ye alright?"
"Fuckin' wankers can't understand simple orders." Simon grumbles, grabbing a broom from the corner and sweeping up the glass. "Slag couldn't get her ass out th' fuckin walkway and made bird spill a tray."
"Christ, she ok?"
"Upstairs. Changin'. Shirt nearly disappeared when it got wet."
"Need me tae check up on-"
"Got a fuckin' kitchen t' run, don't ya?"
Johnny scoffs and disappears back into the kitchen. Simon continues sweeping - he spots Price jogging up to the building throught he street front window, and he sighs in relief.
Upstairs, you do just as Simon instructed. You're topless, your bra still a bit damp after you tried to towel-dry it with he rag Simon gave you. You're sifting through his drawer, face scrunched as you shuffle through and inspect each shirt. You're a bit miffed at how many plain, black t shirts he has - has he ever stepped foot into an Old Navy? - but, eventually, you hit the jackpot.
You pull a shirt from the very bottom of the drawer. It's army green, a bit worn over the years, with a bit of a natural, masculine musk clinging to it. The right front chest has a skull, a sword, and wings, along with the table "Task Force 141". On the back, in large letters: "LT. RILEY".
A smile creeps its way onto your face. He never said which shirt... he said any shirt. And this is the one you want.
Your bra comes off quicky, the fabric still wet and uncomfortable. You toss it somewhere on the bed behind you – you’re sure Simon wouldn’t mind if you hung it over the back of his chair, right? Can’t be wearing a wet bra while you’re running around the restaurant; you’d have a bra-shaped water stain on your shirt. Or, worse – you’d get sick. And you know for a fact (though he’s never said it to you) that Simon would kick himself if you got sick on the job.
You quickly pull the shirt on - it swallows you, both in size and scent. It smells just like him - the bodywash you catch a whiff of when you pass him, the slight muskiness that surrounds you when he reaches above you to grab something - it's all there, just tenfold. You stand up and pull it down; it covers your thighs down to your shorts, almost making it look like you weren’t wearing any to an unassuming person.
You take a peek around the room: it’s quite cozy, even with a lack of real décor. The bed sits against the middle of the wall, with Carolina blue sheets and a grey comforter. The pillows look rather worn, but there’s at least three of them. There’s a television on the dresser that faces the bed, and a small bookshelf in the corner next to an antique-looking chair, except the shelf is filled with mostly keepsakes and memorabilia. Any books in the room are stacked on the edges of the two bay windows, embedded in the brick wall that faces the street. The only lighting comes from three lamps: one on the nightstand by his bed, a taller one next to the clothes rack near the bathroom, and a lantern-looking lamp that he’s somehow attached next to the door.
Curiosity gets the better of you – discovering anything about Simon that he hasn’t already told you is like striking oil. You pad over to the shelf, leaning down to inspect the various objects. A balaclava, rolled up and tucked behind a box. In said box is a medal, bronze and dull, with a fist tightly holding a blazing torch. A worn-down pair of sunglasses lay next to a ring. A green stone sits on a silver band, nestled between two ivy vines. There’s a picture of the four of them: Simon, Johnny, Price, and even Kyle – you had assumed they had met Kyle through the restaurant industry, but there they all were. Dressed in military uniforms, holding guns and posing with stern faces in front of a helicopter. Simon was wearing a rather terrifying skull mask, the rest of him completely covered by his uniform. You were only able to recognize Simon from his brown eyes, but the man in the photo looked entirely different from the bartender downstairs.
Fuck! You completely forgot that you were a waitress, sniffing around your manager’s office when you should be tending to your tables. You turned on your heel and left Simon’s room, running down the stairs two at a time.
Simon was still in the eye of the storm – barely a word had been passed between him and Price, other than a simple hello when he had first hopped behind the bar. Simon was keeping an eye on your tables, which were currently satisfied for the time being – but damn, what was taking you so long? Were you showcasing all of his shirts? The thought of that would’ve had him biting his cheek to prevent a boner, but he was too busy to be anything but concerned for you.
On cue, you come bounding down the stairs, throwing yourself back into the busy crowd as you tie your server apron around your waist. Simon pours a tap, barely able to make out your form flitting through the crowd, making sure your tables are well-off and happy. Price calls your name over the din of the crowd, and you squeeze yourself through the mass of people to collect the drinks sitting on the end of the bar.
“Sorry!” you exclaim, setting your drinks on a tray. “Had to mop myself up a bit with the rag. Did anyone order anything from my tables?” you ask, looking at Simon.
He’s… occupied. His eyes are trained on your shirt. His shirt. That army green that brought up so many old memories, ones he hadn’t thought of in a long time,..
His shirt. Covering your body – and, fucking Christ, you’re not wearing a bra. You’re completely naked under that shirt.
You’re confused. He’s staring at you with such a shocked, glassy pair of eyes that you wonder if you’ve shot him in the leg. You look down at what he’s staring at – oh, right. The shirt. A part of you heats up in embarrassment, and a part in… something else. Yes, I took your shirt. I’ve got your name on my back. If he’s thoroughly upset by this, he’s not expressing it. And if you’re mistaken in the thought that he looks aroused (you wouldn’t be surprised to find him drooling behind the mask – you know how delicious you look right now), you’ll give him the shirt back eventually and pretend this never happened.
“Thanks for earlier.” You spoke over the noisy chatter around you. “This, uh- I hope it’s ok, it was the first shirt I saw.”
Bullshit. He knows he buried that thing deep in his drawer. He did it on purpose. “’S fine.” He mumbles, still dazed.
You glance at him as you carefully balance the tray on your hand. The printer is dealing ticket after ticket of drinks as Price enters them – the man looks at Simon with a frustrated, tight-lipped glare, working double-time to push orders through.
“I’ll be back to grab the rest.” You say quickly. You scurry off, careful to avoid slamming into anyone this time. Simon nearly has a heart attack when he sees his last name across your back. You might as well have his bite mark branded onto the side of your neck.
This opens up a nasty can of worms for him. He’s a goner – he’s thinking about chasing you around the bar, after hours, while all you’re wearing is his shirt; snatching you up and slamming you down on the bar, shoving his face in between your thighs; what you sound like when he pumps you with his fingers; pounding you against the wall in the office, hips crashing into yours as he growls and grunts in your ear, “wanna wear my fuckin’ name, baby? hmm? wanna make sure everyone in this fuckin’ pub knows you’re mine? I’ll gladly fuckin’ help you, fuckin’ tease-“; god, he needs you, he needs to know what you feel like wrapped around his dick, what you sound like when he’s reaching those spots, he needs your nails in his back and your palm smacking him across his face and your teeth on his neck-
“Simon!”
John’s- no, Captain Price’s voice shuts off the movie playing in his mind. He looks at him, barely recognizing the growing frustration in his eyes – Simon’s fighting his own demons right now, and he isn’t even sure if his Captain’s wrath can save him.
“Stop thinkin’ with your Pork Sword and get your arse back on bar.” Price barks – a few of the regulars laugh at that, and Simon realizes he’d had an audience.
He clears his throat and grabs a ticket, quickly reading it and grabbing a glass. He forces himself to let go of the fantasy – he’ll have all night to think about it once he closes. That, or he’ll be hating himself for even thinking of you in that way, especially when the situation wasn’t in your favor. For now, though, he’s got a job to do. He continues to pour and stir and shake drinks left and right, occasionally stealing glances at you, prancing around with his title.
He knows one thing’s for certain – your bra is still somewhere in his room.

Modern Warfare 2: Complete Timeline
Hey gang, I spent a lot of time compiling this particular set of notes for personal fanfic reasons, but I figured other people might benefit from having it all in one place like this rather than having to scrub through the entire game movie on YouTube like I did this past week. Thus I present to you the order in which events actually happen in-game. Important to note, I placed Shepherd and Graves’ original war crime in its proper place rather than post Prison-Break, for chronology’s sake. Also important to note, the very first meeting we see between Laswell and Shepherd is neither dated nor timed, but via context clues it can at least be deduced that it was in October at the Pentagon.
To sum up the timeline, the prologue sets up the action three and a half months prior to kickoff, in Al-Mazrah on July 15th, 2022. Graves and Shepherd lose their missiles only one month after the strike on Ghorbrani. (Interesting little detail—the missiles they were trying to deliver were almost certainly the same make and model used in the strike. Narratively delicious.) It takes two and a half months for the missiles to pop back up again, with TF141 finding the first of them on October 28th, 2022. It takes 141 eight days to locate and neutralize the remaining missiles, and the operation occurs across six separate countries. (Ghost and Soap are in Mexico for Halloween and Día de los Muertos. Do with that what you will.) Everyone, and I do mean everyone, commits a varied pastiche of actual, prosecutable war crimes, but the most objectively egregious ones naturally belong to Shadow Company, Hassan, and Shepherd. The action comes to a conclusion in Chicago on November 4th, 2022.
On with the details!
15 July 2022 1600hrs, Al Mazrah — “STRIKE” Ghost confirms Ghorbrani arms deal in the desert. Shadow Company led by Professional Bastard Phillip Graves carries out a successful missile strike on the site. Ghost confirms the kill. Cool guys may not look at explosions, but even cooler guys don’t get out of the blast radius.
12 Aug 2022 0300, Al Mazrah — “HINDSIGHT” Shadow company attempts to illegally deliver 3 American missiles to allies fighting Russia at General Shepherd’s behest. They are ambushed by Russian PMCs on the road. The PMCs wipe them out and steal the missiles. The US Military at its finest.
“Several Months Later,” US Pentagon — Laswell brings Shepherd the reports on Hassan Zyani. They decide to send Task Force 141 after him.
28 Oct 2022 0130hrs, Al Mazrah — “KILL OR CAPTURE” Soap and Ghost lead a Marine Special Operations unit on a raid at an Al-Qatala compound to capture Hassan. They find the American missiles instead. Shepherd has a blackout meeting with Laswell to control the situation (and to keep her from finding out they’re his missiles).
28 Oct 2022 0600hrs, Amsterdam — “WETWORK” Price and Gaz discover a liaison between AQ and the Mexican Las Almas Cartel at the docks. Daddy Price gets his hat wet.
28 Oct 2022 0800hrs, Amsterdam — “TRADECRAFT” Price, Gaz, and Laswell abduct a Las Almas cartel sicario from a cafe meet with AQ. They discover Hassan is being moved that night from Mexico into the US. They don’t even get to try the coffee.
29 Oct 2022 2200hrs, US-Mexico Border — “BORDERLINE” Alejo and Rudy attempt to capture Hassan before he crosses into the US. They are unable to catch him, but Hassan flees back into Las Almas. They discover that “something” is bound for the US on a boat across the Atlantic.
30 Oct 2022 1000hrs, Las Almas — “CARTEL PROTECTION” Ghost and Soap arrive in Las Almas and meet with Alejandro and Rudy. 141 and Los Vaqueros storm the cartel hideout Hassan is holed up in, but find it absent of him. Soap, Ghost, and Alejo have to flee after engaging the Mexican Army (which has arrived to support the cartel).
30 Oct 2022 1300hrs, Las Almas — “CLOSE AIR” Soap, Ghost, and Alejandro corner Hassan in a cartel compound on (what I think is) an agave farm, where Shadow Company air support gives assistance (read: indiscriminate heavy artillery). Hassan is captured, and after a small town (Olmeda) is leveled in the crossfire, 141 et al take Hassan into the desert for interrogation. They get nothing and have to let him go. If you think the military is the pinnacle of efficiency, this mission should relieve you of that notion.
31 Oct 2022 1100hrs, Spain — “RECON BY FIRE” Price and Gaz infiltrate a hatchery front for the joint Cartel/AQ operation. They find out that Russia is involved. Laswell is kidnapped by AQ and taken hostage in Urzikstan.
01 Nov 2022 1600hrs, Urzikstan — “VIOLENCE AND TIMING” Price and Gaz with the help of Farah Karim (MY LOVE) and her Liberation Front assault the AQ convoy into Al Mazrah and reclaim Laswell. Laswell discovers that AQ received Russian guidance systems with which to arm the American missiles. Family reunion briefly ensues. There were no hugs and there absolutely should have been.
01 Nov 2022 2300hrs, Las Almas — “EL SIN NOMBRE” Soap and Alejo infiltrate Diego’s horribly decorated manor to locate and take ESN into custody. They discover ESN is Valeria, and that Alejo served with her. Valeria reveals where the next missile is headed: an oil rig 400 miles off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico.
02 Nov 2022 1700hrs, Gulf of Mexico — “DARK WATER” 141, LV, and Shadow Company assault the oil rig and have to detonate the missile at launch. Back at LV base, Graves and Shadow Company carry out a hostile takeover, and Ghost and Soap escape separately into Las Almas with Shadows in hot pursuit.
03 Nov 2022 0000hrs, Las Almas — “ALONE” Soap makes his way through Las Almas, evading Shadow Company mercs, to the church Ghost has holed up in, and learns about guerilla warfare. They speculate that Graves and Shepherd are up to something. Soap doesn’t know when to stop flirting. Once reunited, they escape Las Almas to Alejo’s safehouse, where they find Rudy in hiding. They make their plan to rescue Alejo and the rest of Los Vaqueros.
03 Nov 2022 0400hrs, Las Almas — “PRISON BREAK” Ghost, Soap, and Rudy break Alejo and LV out of prison. Price and Gaz arrive to assist, and reveal that Laswell discovered Shepherd and Graves were the ones to have lost the American missiles in the first place. Once back at Alejo’s safehouse, Price confronts Shepherd over Zoom video chat. Shepherd doubles down. Price and Alejo align to take back LV base, and Ghost shows his face for the first time. Ghost Team is formed. You get a mask and you get a mask and you get a mask.
03 Nov 2022 1630hrs, Las Almas — “GHOST TEAM” Ghost Team takes back LV base. Soap brings C4 to a tank fight and wins. Graves gets blown up (or does he??? #graveslives). Valeria reveals the final missile is in Chicago. 141 leaves Las Almas. Ghost speaks some of the most British Spanish ever.
04 Nov 2022 0200hrs, Chicago — “COUNTDOWN” 141 and a Marine strike force lay siege to the corporate building that Hassan and AQ have installed the missile onto. As they chase Hassan down, the missile launches, and Price and Soap race to get ahold of the controls. Soap gets them, and with Laswell’s direction detonates the missile mid-flight. Hassan gets ahold of Soap afterwords, and tries to throw him out a window after giving a supervillain speech. Ghost, in sniper position, shoots Hassan dead and saves Soap’s life.
An unspecified, but likely very short, amount of time later, 141 and Laswell are having celebratory drinks at a bar. Laswell presents the new enemy, and Price gives name to the face: Makarov.

Simon has been fidgeting for the past ten minutes.
He’s sweating bullets while you just stare at him worried.
“You really don’t have to if you don’t want to..” You say, he glares at you and shakes his head with a scoff.
“I promised you. I ain’t goin’ back on my damn promises. Just wait.” He huffs and sighs.
Simon had promised that on your 1st year anniversary of dating, he’d show you his face.
However, now that the day has come. He’s nervous.
What if you leave because of the way he looks? What if you’re not satisfied with what you see? What if you get scared?
So many thoughts, so many insecurities, and so much anxiety.
“I can close my eyes and then you can just tell me when to open them.” You say with sweet smile that he adores so much.
He doesn’t know how or why whenever you look or smile at him, his hearts throbs and skips beats.
He likes this feeling. Makes him feel like a teenager.
After all you are his first serious relationship after all his one night stands.
He doesn’t understand what you see in him and why you love him.
“Alright. Close your eyes for me, blossom.” He says as he stares at you.
You nod and close your eyes.
He wipes his sweat with the back of his hand and then pulls his mask off.
A soft thud on the carpet floor, the cool air filling his face.
He takes a deep breath and taps your shoulder.
“Open up.” He mumbles in a quiet voice that you barely hear.
You open your eyes, you’re met with the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen.
Brown eyes that look fierce but there’s love in them, light brown buzzed hair, pink plump lips, chapped but they look soft.
“You’re…” You say as you stare at him.
His mind is going crazy, what are you gonna say? Is he ugly? Is he an abomination?
“You’re so fucking hot..” You blurt out.
He stares at you before throwing his head back in a laugh. You’re drooling.
Drooling like he’s a medium rare piece of steak on a gold platter.
The rest of the night is spent with you pampering him and complimenting him each second.
He’s not one to accept compliments and always thought they were backhanded.
When you compliment him and stare at him with those beautiful eyes, he just knows you’re telling the truth.

Being Ghost’s Wife
Tumblr media
Warnings: romance and everything that comes with it, mentions of sex
Notes: I’m literally so tired so all I could whip up was a hc today. The urge to nap with Simon is eating at my brain whEN IS IT MY TURN, also this image belongs to n was created by @ave661
Tumblr media
a lot of your relationship was stunted at the start because as soon as he realized he actually loved you he shut you out
but then he got over himself 🙄 and proposed to you 3 months into dating
knows he’s overdue to be seriously injured or killed so he doesn’t want to wait
splurges on a ring the very next day
literally was more terrified to propose to you than he’d ever been for a mission
just randomly said it one night while you were making dinner and he was standing behind you h o v e r i n g
“marry me.” “huh? I mean, yes but Si-” “you’re my wife now.”
changes his contact name in your phone to ‘husband 🖤’ even though technically your still just engaged
the rest of the 141 only finds out by mistake when he forgot to turn his ringer off, you kept bombarding him with texts because you couldn’t figure out how to work the grill he bought you and soap saw about 20 missed messages from ‘wife 🤍’
somehow the whole base knows Lt riley is engaged by the end of the day (soap swears it wasn’t him)
the wedding was small, only your family and the 141 plus Laswell
took the whole ‘fuck on your wedding night’ thing very seriously 🤭
you live a cute little domestic life
after so long not knowing if he was going to live to see the next day, all Simon wants is just to have a little bubble of peace he can protect
uses all his military money that he never bothered with to buy you a big house with a wrap around porch
i fully believe this man will build a deck 🤠
within a year of you being married he already has you knocked up because he ‘doesn’t want to waste any time’

"simon, simon, simon," you call, and his eyes snap from the paper work in front of him to yours. pretty eyes staring at him with the most love he's seen from anyone in years and for a moment he wonders how he got so lucky to have you.
-----
"simon, simon, simon," you babble, the hand around your throat loosening as he croons at you to be quiet. he doesn't want you to, he just loves chastising you, the pathetic and embarrassed look on your face making him fuck you harder. yet again he notes the affection in your eyes as you pant and moan, blow pupils focusing on his face as his body shifts above you. his hips hitting yours repeatedly, thick cock spearing you over and over again as the force of his thrusts sends you further and further into that pit of ecstasy. he grunts at how tightly you grip him, tilting his head to pepper loving kisses over your face.
"fuckin' love you," he mumbles, pushing your legs back closer to your chest with a single calloused hand, pinning your knees together to enhance the feeling as he rails you. "say it back."
"love you, simon! love you so much, please, harder," you whimper, the eyes he loves so much fluttering shut as you tilt your head to the side.
"that's fuckin' it, baby. moanin' for me." he complies, fucking you harder. his thrusts become ruts as he chases his high, keeping his hips angled just right to hit that spot inside you to get you to gush around his thick cock. "come on, baby."
"gonna cum, si," you whimper. "please, make me cum,"
and he does. he makes you cum so hard you can't even hear what he says to you, the dirty whispers he mumbles in your ear as he pounds your tight cunt. it doesn't take him long to cum with you, cock pulsing before he cums, filling you up to the brim and fucking you for a bit longer just for good measure. his thrusts slow, and he relaxes on top of you, nuzzling into the crook of your neck.
"simon, simon, simon," he mocks softly, a low chuckle leaving his throat as you whine and swat him.
your simon, he thinks. yours. always and forever. yours.

i wish i knew you wanted me - s.r.
Tumblr media
a/n: okay this ended up being so so long forgive me!!! i hope you like<3 summary: based loosely on 'bad habit'. spencer got asked out by reader 5 years ago, when he was recovering from his dilaudid addiction, and turned her down. now, he's in love with her, and pining for her. also, jealous!spencer. she fell first, he fell harder. wc: ~2k
She’s very pretty. It’s distracting. Right now, she’s staring intently at his hands, and he feels hot under her gaze. It’s been a while since he’s done this, the little rocket trick, but she’s visiting the office, and Garcia had mentioned he’s a magician.
“That’s incredible!” She exclaims, a giggle in her laugh, and he feels the swoop of his stomach, the butterflies of it all, “You got them so high up!”
“It’s just physics,” he laughs, meeting her warm gaze. Her smile is one for the ages.
She’s here dropping off a file. They’ve known eachother a really long time, actually. She was an expert witness for them, once, years ago. She spoke with ease, both on the stand and in person. Equal measure kind and measured, and Spencer had adored her on first glance. They’d met when he was just getting clean from Dilaudid, and Spencer’s been in love with her since not long after than first meeting. That’s pretty much the only thing about her he wishes he could take back.
He still has a hard time thinking about it, the fact that he met her when he was barely himself. Still, she’d been kind, listened to him talk and let the others tell her that he was…going through something. It was on his two month sobriety date (which she’d had no way of knowing) that she’d asked him out.
Sometimes, when he can’t sleep, he replays the memory in his head. How she works just south of their office, and how they’d meet at the café nearest, and chat for an hour before calling a cab home.
On the other side of the veil, he can picture that night, years ago now. How she’d looked with the snow kissing her nose, dotting the edges of her faux-fur hood. She’d stuck out her tongue to catch a snowflake, and he’d almost combusted and the adorability of it.
“You look nice,” she’d said, although at the time he’s pretty sure he looked gaunt. He’d only recently started to gain the weight back- but still, her praise felt like stardust.
“You look nicer,” he’d said back, gently bumping her shoulder as a fond gesture. Her little grin is well-worth how awkward they both look on the street.
“Listen,” she had said, stuffing her hands into her pockets, the size of the coat causing her hands to disapear from sight entirely, “I asked JJ and Morgan, and they said you’re not seeing anyone.”
“Oh, yeah. They love reminding me of that. Not everyone can be like Morgan and have dated half the western hemsiphere.”
He felt embarrassed, her watching him. It’s nice, but sometimes feels like staring into the sun.
Her chuckle was nervous, not fully reaching her eyes.
“You okay?
“Yeah,” she swallowed again, before speaking, “I was wondering, um, if you might want to grab a drink with me?”
“Sure,” he’d replied back, amenably. He couldn’t tell why she looked so nervous, “I can’t really do hard liquor, though. Maybe we can invite the team.”
“No, Spence, I was wondering if you and I could go on a um, a date.”
And he’s frozen. Because this might be the second time he’d ever been asked out, and second, this might be his dream girl. She’s gorgeous and kind and she’s in front of him, asking him out.
“I um,” his mouth was dry. He’d be a bad boyfriend. He was a recovering drug addict who already was bad at talking to people, and she lit up a room whenever she walked in. She finds him easy to be with, easy to care for and he’s bound to fuck it up. He couldn’t imagine giving that up because he was too greedy to take what he got. “I don’t think that would be a good idea.”
He almost took it back with incredible speed, with that flash of disapointment on her lovely face, and the knowledge that it’s because she wanted him, before she quickly regained her speech.
“That’s totally alright! We’ll just be good friends, yeah?”
In the here and now, they are friends. Best of, really. And he made the right choice. He’d lashed out at Emily a month later in a withdrawl, and he knows that he’d have done the same to her, and now, she’s still in his life.
The drawbacks of course, to being her friend, means she has dates. Boyfriends, as well, and he’s been a…friend, through it all. Good friend. She’s never suspeced him of anything more, of course, after he’d categorically rejected it.
(Even though this rejection plays in his head all the fucking time, like a torturous groundhog day.)
She’s beautiful today, a blue blouse with a scarf lazily around her neck, and the way she’s leaning over his desk to see the  trick before she drops off her analysis.
“Alright, Spence,” she says, her rose perfume wafting in the air prior to her hopping off the corner, “Did you need anything else? Today is my half-day, and Harry wanted to take me to Art Insititute.”
Harry, is the boy on rotation at the moment. Spencer has no impulse control and a super-computer expert best friend, so Spencer knows that Harry is 6’0 on his Driver’s License, and is a Financial Analyst. Spencer knows from her own mouth that this will be the third date, and that he’s a little boring but she’s attracted to the fact that he was direct and wanted to go out again.
Low bar, but one Spencer couldn’t even clear. He doesn’t say any of that, though.
“That sounds fun,” he says, instead of saying that he’d love to walk her through the inscriptions on each art piece, love to kiss her in front of something thats’ beauty does not come close to her’s. “Are you thinking it might run long, or are we still doing the bookstore and TV at mine after?”
He’s been looking forward to this all week. He bought special marshmallows for her cocoa. He also htes to imagine her date running long.
“Nah,” she smiles, “besides, he’s just some guy. You’re Spencer.”
Morgan doesn’t say anything when he looks down at his. paperwork, and scribbles instead of thinking, the best he can.
________________________________
Don’t think about the fact she was on a date. Don’t think about how Harry might have got to kiss her. Just don’t bring it up.
“How was the date?”
She shrugged, pulling at the spine of a hardcover novel.
“It was fine. Like I said, he was kind of boring.”
“So why’d you go out with him again?”
“I dunno, Spence, I just… I want a boyfriend, you know? I want someone to want to be with me.”
She is so beautiful. She laughs with her whole chest, and she listens to his stories and chimes in with her own expertise. She has a voice that seems like it’s spun gold thread, and he’d give anything to kiss her.
“I get that,” he says, instead of anything he’s thinking. She’s wearing brown lipstick, transfer proof. He’s in love with her. “There’s got to be guys lining up for a girl like you.”
“That’s a nice thought, Spence. Not the ones I’d like.”
___________________________
This thought haunts his evening, and when he parks and they start the walk-up to his apartment, a confession hammering at his throat, a physical urge. She’s giggling at some long physics joke he’d made, and he’s addicted to the soft bell of her laughter.
His apartment is small and lovely, and he enjoys having her in the small and dark of the night, the sun set over what he wishes were two lovers.
“You are really pretty, you know,” he says, once she’s settled into his chest, a sick satisfaction of knowing Harry got a quick thank you text before she darted over to Spencer’s arms.
“Thanks, Spencer. You’re a good friend.”
“Why do you always say that?”
“That you’re a good friend?”
“I’m not saying you’re pretty because I’m a good friend. I’m saying it because it’s true, and I enjoy saying true things.”
“You don’t…I don’t know why you’re saying that, Spencer. We’re friends and I adore you and I’m here right now, but you don’t need to make it harder on me.”
She looks nervous, and a little disapointed. He wants her to know, that even if he’s missed his shot, she’s not going to be alone. He’s gonna spend the rest of his life hating whoever knew to take the best thing offered to him, but Spencer- he knows he is not going to be the last to love her. He grabs her hand without thinking, her doe eyes peering into his with some emotion he can’t pin down.
“Hey, I’m not trying…to make anything hard for you. I don’t ever want to do that. I just… some day someone’s gonna see you and want to be with you and I’m going to watch it and know it was inevitable.”
The words taste like barbed wire.
Ask me again, he wants to beg, I’m ready now. I’ll do it right.
Is that even true? Is it just that he wants her bad enough he’s willing to risk not doing it right?
“You’re so sweet,” she sobs, and oh, she’s crying. Just a little, but tears prick at the corners of her eyes. “You make it so hard to be your friend. And I know that’s my problem, that you’ve always been straight up with me. I asked you out and you said no, and I know that-“
“I know that I was too late, and freaked out about being with someone like you when I was still so fucked up.” they’re so close to eachother, he can smell her chapstick. His chest aches. “Sweetheart, that had nothing to do with you. It was all me. It’s a train I missed that I’m gonna spend the rest of my life wishing I’d caught.”
He feels uncomfortably bare, even in the oversized sweater that she’d gotten him last Christmas, and that he’d pretended had been from his lover all of that week. But it’s important that she knows.
“What do you mean, ‘too late’?”
Her voice is small, so quiet he barely hears it. She threads her nimble fingers into his slender ones, and his heart is hammering.
“I-I was on Dilaudid, or just barely off, you know- you wouldn’t want to be with someone like me. You asked me out when you didn’t even know that.”
“I know you now. Years worth of knowing.”
“And you haven’t asked me since.”
“Spencer,” her voice is warm, rich like silk and grainy old music, and he wants to drink this image in, her fingers stroking the side of his face like he’s holy. He wonders if he’s dreaming, with how good she feels to be so close to.
Ask me again, he wants to beg. I’m ready, now.
“Spencer Walter Reid,” she says, properly holding his hand, bringing her soft lips to his hand, kissing his knuckle. He feels anointed, blessed by a higher power. “Could I take you out on a date?”
“Yes,” he says, finally. Five years of waiting melts away as he kisses her, warmth and light seeping into existence, a dream brought to tangible life, to touch and reality, “Actually, wait,” he says, and finishes before her face can fall, “Would you be my girlfriend?”
It’s maybe playing his cards too much, but her wide, ear to ear splitting grin is everything he needs to see, everything he might need to see for the rest of his life.
“Took you long enough, boy-genius.”
“All you had to do was ask again!”
If she has a complaint about that, it certainly couldn’t be heard by the many, many kisses that would follow.

Every day, you settled into the hum of computers and the soft glow of monitors that painted the walls of the BAU's technical analysis hub, affectionately dubbed the "bat cave" by those who knew it best. Your role as a tech analyst found you working side-by-side with the brilliant and bubbly Penelope Garcia, a woman whose personality was as colorful as her wardrobe. Despite the comfort of being shrouded in the semi-darkness of your tech-laden sanctuary, a certain type of light seemed to elude you—the spark of acknowledgment in Dr. Spencer Reid's deep, thoughtful eyes.
You harbored a crush so palpable that even the air in the room felt charged with your nervous energy whenever Spencer was near. However, your shy demeanor cloaked these feelings in a veil of secrecy that somehow, miraculously, Spencer himself never managed to pierce through. Everyone else on the team had noticed, from the knowing smiles of Derek Morgan to the gentle teasing of JJ, but Spencer remained blissfully unaware, his attention often drifting towards Elle Greenaway with an intensity that tugged painfully at your heart.
Penelope, ever the observant friend, never missed a beat. "Oh, honey," she would whisper, "it’s like you’re sending Morse code with those blushes and he’s living in a blackout."
Her words were gentle, tinged with humor and affection, yet each jest felt like a pinprick to your already tender sensibilities. Whenever Spencer visited the bat cave to discuss case details or gather information, your heart raced as you tried to provide him with everything he needed without tripping over your words or, heaven forbid, your own feet.
"Hey, Spencer," you would start, your voice a careful mixture of professionalism and the warmth you couldn’t keep at bay.
"Hello," he would respond, his eyes scanning the screens filled with data. His focus was razor-sharp, dissecting information with the same precision he used on everything but the emotional currents swirling around him.
Each interaction was a dance. You would inch towards openness, leaning in to catch a whiff of his cologne or to appreciate the subtle shift of his hair when he ran his fingers through it in concentration. But as soon as he glanced up, those hazel eyes like windows to an enigmatic soul, you would recoil slightly, cheeks aflame, words retreating as quickly as they had dared to emerge.
Later, as the screen showed live feeds of the team moving through their environments, Penelope would nudge you gently with her elbow, her voice low and teasing. "You know, if we had a dollar for every time you fumbled around that man, we could retire and buy an island in the Bahamas."
You’d offer a small, embarrassed laugh, grateful for the low lighting hiding the worst of your blush. "I just... I don’t know how to act around him, Penelope. What if he doesn’t..."
"Feel the same?" she'd finish for you, her tone softening. "Sweetie, the heart’s a funny creature. It doesn’t play by the rules of logic that Spencer loves so much. But who knows? Maybe one day, he’ll surprise you and actually look up from those case files and see what’s right in front of him."
The comfort in her voice was soothing, yet each day ended the same—with you watching Spencer, Spencer watching Elle, and Penelope watching over you, a guardian angel clad in technicolor, armed with an arsenal of jokes and just the right words to keep you smiling through the uncertainty.
The day had been rolling along as usual in the BAU's bat cave, the rhythmic clicking of keyboards providing a steady backdrop to the glow of computer screens. Penelope had excused herself for a quick bathroom break, leaving you alone amidst the towers of technology. Just as the door clicked shut behind her, the shrill ring of the phone sliced through the quiet, startling you slightly. Calls from the field were usually Penelope’s domain, her cheerful voice a soothing constant for the team. Today, it seemed, you would have to step into her shoes.
“Y/N speaking, what can I do for you?” Your voice wavered slightly, anxiety bubbling up as you prepared for your usual toggle through databases and security feeds.
When Spencer’s voice responded from the other end, a different kind of alertness prickled across your skin. “Hi, Y/N, we need to cross-reference known associates of the unsub with recent flight records. Can you pull up the lists and cross-check for any matches?”
Your heart thumped erratically, his voice weaving through the receiver like a familiar song that never failed to stir your soul. You tried to maintain a steady tone, hoping your voice didn’t betray the sudden nervousness that his presence, even just over the phone, incited. “Sure, Spencer, just a moment.”
As your fingers danced across the keyboard, the professional mask you wore each day slid comfortably into place. You were adept at your job, a fact that never faltered, even under the weight of your emotions. Quickly pulling up the necessary records, you began the process of cross-referencing, your mind briefly detached from the flutter in your stomach.
“Looks like there’s a match. Michael Davidson, on a flight from Atlanta to D.C. this morning,” you reported, a trace of pride threading through your words at the efficiency with which you’d located the information.
“Great, Y/N. Thanks,” Spencer’s voice came through, a hint of relief palpable even through the static of the connection. His appreciation, simple and straightforward, filled you with a warmth that went beyond professional satisfaction.
Hanging up, you let out a breath you’d been holding. Penelope chose that moment to breeze back into the room, her presence as effervescent as ever. Catching the tail end of your smile, she quirked an eyebrow playfully.
“Spill the beans, buttercup. You look like someone just handed you a golden ticket,” she teased, settling back into her chair.
“It was just Spencer needing some quick info,” you shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant as your heart continued to beat a staccato rhythm against your ribs.
Penelope’s smile widened, her eyes twinkling with unspoken understanding. “Oh, just Spencer, huh?”
“Mhm,” you hummed, trying to brush it off casually. “Derek would never betray you by talking to me,” you teased, hoping to steer the conversation away from your flustered feelings.
Penelope’s eyes sparkled even more as she winked at you. “Oh, he’s allowed to have side pieces, my love. I’m a generous goddess.”
You burst out laughing, your nervousness momentarily forgotten as Penelope’s playful banter eased your tension. “I’ll let him know you said that,” you shot back, turning back to your screen, trying to focus on anything other than the residual warmth from talking to Spencer.
Penelope, never one to let you off the hook easily, leaned in closer. “Should I let Spencer know he isn’t allowed to have any side pieces then?” she asked, winking at you again, her tone as sweet as honey but with a hint of mischief.
“Penelope!” you gasped, feeling your face flush all over again. The blush you thought had faded returned with a vengeance as you turned away, hoping she wouldn’t see just how red you were.
She laughed, clearly pleased with herself. “I’m just saying, babe. The boy’s got options, but I think we both know his best one is sitting right here.”
You groaned, covering your face with your hands as you let out a small, embarrassed laugh. “You’re impossible.”
“Just doing my part to make sure he doesn’t miss any signals,” Penelope sang, tapping her keyboard lightly, her grin as wide as ever. You couldn't help but smile too, secretly grateful for her teasing. After all, it was these moments that made the crush a little more bearable.
During one of Rossi’s famed pasta-making sessions, a relaxed atmosphere filled his spacious kitchen, with the rich aroma of tomato sauce simmering on the stove and the sounds of laughter mingling with soft Italian music playing in the background. Rossi, the consummate host, guided everyone through the steps of making the perfect pasta dough, his hands moving with the ease of long practice.
You found yourself stationed next to Spencer, who was diligently kneading a mound of fresh pasta dough. His hands, beautiful and dexterous, worked the dough with a precision that was mesmerizing. The veins on his hands stood out, accentuating every deliberate movement, and you couldn’t help but be captivated by the fluidity of his motions. It wasn’t just his intellect that drew you in; even his seemingly mundane physical actions had a way of catching your undivided attention.
Derek and JJ, who were partnered up on the other side of the kitchen island, caught your fixed gaze and shared an amused look between them. Derek’s smirk grew as he nudged JJ, whispering loud enough for you to overhear, “Looks like someone’s more interested in the handwork than the handiwork.”
JJ chuckled softly, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she joined in the teasing. “Yeah, I think Y/N’s planning on writing a thesis on the manual dexterity of certain geniuses.”
Flustered, you tore your eyes away from Spencer’s hands, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks. You attempted to focus back on your own portion of dough, which had begun to stick to the counter more than it should. Spencer, oblivious to the exchange, looked up and noticed your struggle.
“Hey, you need to dust a bit more flour on the surface,” he said, his voice gentle, unaware of the reason behind your distraction. He reached over to sprinkle some flour on your dough and then on the countertop, his fingers briefly brushing against yours. The brief contact sent a pleasant jolt through you, further flustering you.
Rossi, ever the observant host, noticed the playful dynamic and decided to rescue you from your embarrassment. “Alright, everyone, let’s focus on the art of pasta! Y/N, why don’t you help me with the sauce?” he suggested, giving you a knowing smile as he handed you a wooden spoon.
As you helped Rossi stir the simmering sauce, carefully blending the herbs into the rich, aromatic mixture, you couldn’t help but cast furtive glances across the kitchen. There, Hotch had taken up the spot you vacated next to Spencer, now deeply engaged in the art of pasta making under Rossi’s enthusiastic instruction. While Hotch was methodically following Rossi’s guidance, Spencer’s attention occasionally drifted.
Across from them, Elle was rolling out her dough with a confident flourish, laughing at something Hotch had said. You caught Spencer's eyes as they met Elle's, a shared glance of amusement passing effortlessly between them. The ease of their silent communication was stark, their smiles syncing in a moment of private jest that seemed to exclude the world around them—including you.
That simple, silent exchange felt like a punch to the gut. The laughter and camaraderie around you suddenly seemed a bit dimmer, a bit more distant. It wasn’t just jealousy that twisted in your stomach—it was the aching realization of how much could be said in a single look when there was a real connection; a connection you feared might never form between Spencer and yourself.
You turned your attention back to the sauce, the spoon moving mechanically in your hand as Rossi continued to chat about the nuances of Italian cooking. He didn’t seem to notice your distraction, caught up in his culinary passion. But inside, your thoughts were swirling as tumultuously as the sauce you stirred.
Trying to shake off the sinking feeling, you focused on the positives—the laughter of your team, the comforting weight of the wooden spoon in your hand, the delicious smell that filled the kitchen. But despite the festive atmosphere, a part of you remained reserved, quietly nursing the tender hope that maybe, just maybe, one day Spencer would look at you with the same warmth and understanding he so effortlessly shared with Elle. Until then, you resolved to keep smiling, keep stirring, and keep hoping.
The BAU briefing room felt unusually empty without Penelope's vibrant presence, Elle's keen insights, and Derek's charismatic confidence filling the space. With them on vacation, the dynamic had shifted, and you found yourself stepping into roles that stretched beyond your usual behind-the-scenes expertise. The weight of Penelope's responsibilities now rested squarely on your shoulders, a challenge you accepted with both determination and a hint of trepidation.
As the team gathered for the briefing on the new case, Hotch turned to you. "Y/N, could you walk us through the case description and the current leads?" His voice was calm, authoritative, yet imbued with a supportive undertone that did little to ease the flutter of nerves in your stomach.
Nodding, you stood, remote in hand, feeling every pair of eyes in the room settle on you. Public speaking was not your greatest fear, but it was hardly your favorite endeavor—especially not with Spencer's intense gaze locked on you. It was as if his eyes were a pair of spotlights, illuminating not just your words but every minute reaction and emotion that flickered across your face.
As you began to outline the case, detailing the patterns and possible psychological motivations of the unsub, Spencer's scrutiny never wavered. His stare was not judgmental nor dismissive; rather, it was analytical, perhaps even a bit curious, as if he were trying to read the nuances of your presentation, to understand not just the facts but the person delivering them.
"Based on the geographical profiling and the behavioral pattern, we believe the unsub may be operating within a ten-mile radius of downtown," you explained, pointing to the map projected behind you. Your voice steadied as you delved deeper into the analysis, the familiar terrain of data and evidence providing a solid foundation beneath your initially shaky confidence.
Spencer's focus, rather than rattling you further, began to foster a sense of resolve within you. You found yourself speaking more confidently, your nerves tempered by the realization that this was still your team—your family in all but blood. They weren't here to judge; they were here to listen and to learn from what you had to offer.
As the briefing wrapped up, Hotch nodded in approval. "Good work, Y/N. Keep us posted on any updates from Garcia's systems until she returns."
You nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. Glad it was over, you were already preparing to scamper back to your office when you heard a voice that sent a familiar shiver down your spine.
“Y/N?” Spencer's voice, calm yet inquisitive, caught your attention.
You spun around to face him, trying not to let your fluster show. “What’s up?”
“Can you put the map back up on the screen, please?” he asked, already standing by the large projection screen.
“Ye–yeah, of course.” Your fingers fumbled with the remote as you quickly reactivated the display, bringing the map back onto the screen.
“Here,” Spencer said, still not looking back at you. “Come look at this.”
You walked over to stand beside him, your eyes inadvertently drawn to his long fingers as they traced paths along the map, pointing out specific areas. The same hands that had mesmerized you earlier were now gliding over the screen, drawing you into his thought process.
Spencer started talking about the geographical profile, rattling off information with his typical rapid-fire brilliance. But what took you by surprise was how he spoke to you—not as the team’s tech analyst, but as if you were another profiler, someone he wanted to consult. This was new, and it left you momentarily stunned. He’d never done this before.
“Spencer?” you asked quietly, your voice barely audible in the spacious room. He hummed in response, still focused on the map as he tugged thoughtfully at his bottom lip—a gesture you’d come to adore and envy.
“Why are you asking me about this?” you continued, your curiosity growing along with your nerves. “Why not Rossi? Or Hotch?”
Spencer paused, finally turning to face you, his eyes filled with the same focused intensity he usually reserved for solving cases. “Because you see things differently,” he said softly. “You have a different perspective, and that’s valuable. Sometimes it’s not just about profiling. It’s about how we approach the data, and you… you understand patterns in a way that’s unique.”
His words caught you off guard, but they filled you with an unexpected warmth. You weren’t just the tech analyst who plugged in the data—they saw you, Spencer saw you, as part of the team, as someone with valuable insights.
Your heart fluttered in your chest as you held his gaze for a moment longer than you intended. “Thanks, Spencer,” you whispered, trying to suppress the blush creeping up your neck.
He smiled, a small but genuine curve of his lips, before turning back to the map. “Now, what do you think about this area here?” he asked, as if it was the most natural thing in the world for you two to be collaborating like this.
For once, you weren’t just lost in thoughts of him—you were part of the conversation, and it felt good.
After you felt you'd helped all you could, you excused yourself back to your office, ready to sink back into the more solitary part of your work. However, Spencer seemed to have other plans, as he walked alongside you, his footsteps synchronized with yours, indicating he wasn't quite done talking. His expression was one of mild concern, a usual precursor to his deep dives into various subjects.
As you walked, he continued to unravel his thoughts about the case, tying loose ends and circling back to previous points with a precision that was nothing short of impressive. It was typical of Spencer to thoroughly dissect each aspect of a case, often taking tangential routes in the conversation that surprisingly led right back to the main topic, a testament to his prodigious mind.
However, as engrossed as he was in discussing the case, his next words veered sharply from the professional to the personal, catching you completely off guard and momentarily stalling your mental gears. The shift was so sudden that it took a moment for you to register what he was actually asking, pulling you out of your case-focused mindset and into a more introspective space. This unexpected question not only showed his human side but also reminded you of the depth of his observational skills, not just in work but in personal matters as well.
"How is Felix, by the way?" Spencer asked, an innocently curious tilt to his head as he regarded you, his pace slowing slightly.
"What?" The name jolted you, an echo from a past chapter of your life you hadn’t opened in ages, and certainly not one you had expected Spencer to know anything about. You blinked, momentarily confused, trying to piece together the leap in conversation.
"Felix? How are they?" Spencer repeated, his interest seemingly piqued by your reaction—or perhaps just his natural inclination toward thorough understanding.
You paused, standing now in the doorway of your office, the background hum of computer servers providing a soft soundtrack to this unexpected moment. "Um, I don't know," you admitted, still trying to navigate the strange turn the conversation had taken.
"Oh, I’m so sorry, did you two separate?" Spencer’s tone was filled with genuine apology, his face reflecting concern.
You managed a small, somewhat awkward laugh, finding both the absurdity and the sudden intimacy of the conversation slightly overwhelming. "Well, yes. A long while ago." Your response came out lighter than you felt, the surprise of the question making your heart race for reasons other than your usual nervousness around Spencer.
As Spencer absorbed your response, his expression remained unreadable, a common trait when he was deep in thought or processing information. He nodded, perhaps filing away the conversation for later reflection, before excusing himself with a polite but somewhat distant farewell. His departure was quick, efficient, the way he typically transitioned back to work, yet it left a trail of questions in its wake.
You watched him go, a blend of relief and curiosity mingling in your thoughts. The inquiry into your personal life was uncharacteristic of Spencer, who usually maintained a strict boundary between professional and personal discussions, at least when it came to initiating such topics himself. The interaction lingered in your mind, an outlier in the usual pattern of your interactions.
"Maybe it's because Elle isn't here," you thought silently, turning back to your computer.
After leaving your office, Spencer quickly texted Elle to update her that you were no longer seeing Felix, contrary to their assumption. Elle replied enthusiastically with two thumbs up, urging him to ask you out soon or she would take the opportunity herself.
Throughout the week, with Penelope, Elle, and Derek away, the dynamic at the BAU shifted noticeably. Spencer seemed to step out of his usual reserved demeanor, engaging more frequently, particularly with you. His attempts at conversation often appeared to teeter on the edge of something beyond mere professional interest, though it was so subtle that it often flew under your radar.
Tuesday morning, Spencer leaned against the counter, watching you struggle with the temperamental coffee machine that had decided today was the day to revolt. "You know, statistically, manual coffee presses have a lower failure rate compared to electric ones," he commented, a slight quirk to his lips.
You glanced at him, chuckling lightly, "Is that so? Maybe I should switch, then."
"Yeah, and they make better coffee. Maybe I could show you how to use one sometime?" His tone was casual, but there was a tentative note to it, almost hopeful.
As the coffee machine finally sputtered to life, producing a somewhat decent cup of coffee, Spencer’s offer lingered in the air, subtly altering the atmosphere between you. His suggestion about the manual coffee press had been light, almost playful, but it carried an undercurrent of personal interest that left you unexpectedly flustered. Despite this, you masked your reaction with a casual nod, trying to maintain an even keel.
"Sure, I could always use better coffee," you responded, your voice steady despite the slight quickening of your heartbeat. You focused on fixing your coffee, adding just the right amount of cream and sugar, using the mundane task as a moment to collect your thoughts.
Spencer watched you for a moment, perhaps sensing the shift in your demeanor but respecting the boundary you subtly enforced with your nonchalant reply. His smile was gentle, not pushing further, as he too turned his attention back to preparing his own drink.
Wednesday at lunch you sat in the break room flipping through case files, Spencer slid into the seat across from you with his own lunch—a homemade sandwich seemingly crafted with meticulous care. "I read somewhere that sharing meals can enhance group bonding and individual rapport," he began, looking directly at you with an earnest expression.
You looked up, smiling at the factoid, you loved hearing Spencer talk. He was always so endearing. "That sounds about right. Food does bring people together."
"Maybe we could test that theory. There's a new Thai place nearby that’s supposed to be great," he suggested, his voice smooth but slightly hurried.
"That would be an interesting experiment," you agreed, your thoughts inadvertently glossing over Spencer's subtle personal invitation. Instead, your mind wandered to the social dynamics of the team, or perhaps more pointedly, the possibility of Spencer going out with Elle without having to extend a direct invitation—an idea that stoked a twinge of jealousy, burning in your stomach like an ugly green monster.
Spencer nodded, his expression shifting subtly as he detected the undercurrent of your thoughts, interpreting them as disinterest in a personal outing. He tried to mask any hint of disappointment, maintaining his typical composed demeanor. Internally, however, he wrestled with the sting of what felt like another missed connection, another attempt at reaching out quietly rebuffed.
"It would be a great way to explore some new flavors... maybe just the two of us first, to see if it’s worth recommending to the team?" His tone was measured, carefully modulating between casual and sincere, revealing his hope that this might pave the way to a more personal connection between the two of you.
Despite his clear wording, your mind twisted his intentions, clouded by the assumption that his ultimate aim was to impress Elle upon her return. This idea gnawed at you, the thought of being potentially used as a stepping stone in Spencer’s strategy to engage Elle more personally. It tainted the sincerity you might have otherwise perceived in his proposal.
"Yeah, that sounds like a good plan," you responded, trying to mask your feelings with a nod and a polite smile. "Testing it out sounds sensible... then we can tell Elle and the rest if it's good." Your voice carried a hint of forced cheerfulness as you inadvertently redirected the focus back to Elle, reinforcing your misinterpretation of Spencer's motives.
Spencer noticed the subtle shift in your tone, the slight stiffness in your smile. He paused, a flicker of confusion crossing his features as he tried to gauge whether his message had been misunderstood. "Yes, of course," he agreed, his voice faltering slightly as he picked up on your emphasis on Elle. Disappointment edged into his heart, sensing a barrier he hadn't anticipated—one that perhaps wasn't his to cross just yet.
He nodded slowly, offering a gentle smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I'll send you the details later then," Spencer added, stepping back to give you space, his mind busy piecing together where the conversation had veered off track.
Thursday while you were digging through old case files in the archives, Spencer wandered in, ostensibly looking for a book. He lingered by your side, helping to shift the heavy tomes. "You know, there's this book on cognitive science I think you'd really like. It talks about pattern recognition and emotional intelligence in ways I think you'd find fascinating," he offered, his fingers brushing against yours as he handed you a different file.
"Sounds intriguing," you responded, your attention still partially on the file in your hands. The hint of a smile played at the corners of your mouth, touched by the realization that Spencer was not only paying attention to your interests but was actively thinking about ways to engage with you on a more personal level.
"I could lend it to you. We could discuss it over coffee?" Spencer's suggestion came with a hopeful undertone, as gentle and tentative as the expression in his eyes.
Your reaction, however, was immediate and unexpected—a sudden choke on your spit as his words caught you off guard. A brief fit of coughing ensued, and Spencer's concern was quick to surface. He reached out instinctively, placing a comforting hand on your back with a gentle touch. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
The unexpected contact made you jolt, a reflexive response to the sudden intimacy of his touch. Realizing your reaction, Spencer quickly withdrew his hand, a flash of disappointment crossing his features as he stepped back, giving you space.
"Yeah, I'm fine, sorry," you managed to laugh it off, though your cheeks burned with embarrassment. You tried to smooth over the moment, still recovering from the unexpected cough and the even more unexpected contact.
Spencer's response was gentle, a soft nod accompanying his words. "It's okay, I'll, uh, see you upstairs," he said, stepping back with a hesitant smile. His decision to not press the coffee invitation further reflected his respect for your comfort, but inwardly, he felt he might have missed his opportunity for the day.
As he turned to leave, the brief contact and your embarrassed reaction replayed in his mind, leaving him wondering about the right approach to take next time. His intentions had been straightforward, but the execution hadn't gone as smoothly as he hoped. The way your eyes had widened, the laughter that followed the cough—it all suggested a mix of emotions that he couldn't quite decipher.
Watching him walk away, you felt a pang of regret. His retreat made you realize that your reaction might have been misinterpreted as discomfort, rather than the surprise and nervous excitement you actually felt. The idea of discussing a book over coffee with Spencer genuinely appealed to you, and you wished you could convey that without the awkwardness of the moment overshadowing it.
Gathering your thoughts, you considered reaching out to him later to clarify your interest, maybe even suggest a specific day for that coffee. The day hadn't gone as either of you planned, but it wasn't over yet, and perhaps there was still a chance to turn it around.
Friday afternoon as you both waited for the elevator, Spencer tried again, this time a bit more directly. "Did you know that the probability of meeting someone compatible is surprisingly high within work environments?"
You raised an eyebrow, trying to steady the rapid thumping of your heart. "Really now? I guess we’re in the right place, then."
"Yes, exactly," Spencer agreed, a bit more eagerly than you expected. "It’s like... finding the right piece in a puzzle."
"Like solving a case?" you asked, your voice shrinking with uncertainty, afraid that, once again, he had someone else in mind—someone who fit into his world effortlessly, maybe a profiler like Elle.
"Yeah," he smiled warmly, his eyes soft as they focused on you. "Just like solving a case."
Your heart cracked a little at his words. You interpreted the metaphor differently, convinced he was searching for someone like the other brilliant profilers on the team—someone you believed you could never be. With a forced smile, you said quietly, "Well, looks like you need a profiler-shaped puzzle piece then."
Spencer’s brow furrowed slightly, a flicker of confusion crossing his face as you stepped into the elevator. He stood there, frozen, not understanding the weight behind your words or why you seemed so distant.
As the elevator doors slid shut, he replayed the conversation in his mind, his heart sinking as he realized something wasn’t connecting. He had been trying to tell you, in his own way, that he was interested in you, that you were the piece he was talking about. But somehow, despite his best efforts, the message kept slipping through your fingers. Why weren’t you getting it? Why did every attempt seem to fall short?
Spencer watched the elevator descend, a sinking feeling settling in his chest. He had been so certain of his feelings for you, and yet, with every attempt, it felt like they drifted further away, lost in the unspoken misunderstandings between you.
When the freshly bronzed trio returned from their vacation, Spencer, seemingly on edge, wasted no time in seeking out Elle, his face etched with a mix of hope and frustration.
“So? Did you do it?” Elle asked eagerly as soon as they were within speaking distance, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. “Did she say yes?”
Spencer’s response was laden with disappointment. “Every time I try to ask her out, she thinks it’s a friendly suggestion, or—or she even mentioned you one time like I was thinking about you!” He ran his hand through his hair in exasperation, clearly puzzled by the recurring miscommunication.
Elle couldn’t help but laugh slightly, though her lips were closed, trying to mask her amusement at the situation. Spencer, on the other hand, whined in annoyance, “What?” He genuinely didn’t understand what he was missing.
With a fond smile, Elle prodded further, “Reid, how did you ask? And what did she say?” Her voice was gentle, coaxing him to unpack the details.
Spencer recapped all the moments from the past week—the coffee machine incident, the lunch invitation, the casual chat in the archives, and the awkward elevator conversation. Each retelling showcased his subtle, cerebral approach to what he thought were clear invitations.
“Oh, boy genius,” Elle said teasingly once he finished, her tone light but her words cutting to the heart of the issue. “I think I see the problem here.”
“What? What is it?” Spencer asked, desperation and confusion in his voice.
Elle placed her hand on his arm, a gesture meant to be comforting but one that did not escape your notice, intensifying the ache in your heart. “She thinks you’re interested in me!” Elle revealed, her insight sharp.
“Why would she think that?” Spencer asked, his bewilderment evident. The connection between his actions and your perception seemed utterly foreign to him.
Elle’s explanation was straightforward, “Because, Spencer, every time you make an attempt, it’s so subtle and wrapped in layers of intellect that it’s easy for her to miss the romantic intent.”
Her words seemed to pierce through the fog of confusion surrounding Spencer. The realization that his attempts at expressing romantic interest were getting lost in translation—or rather, lost in his own intellectual approach—was a revelation. He nodded slowly, the gears turning as he processed this new insight.
“Plus, if she’s mentioning me and no one else, she must think you’re looking for ways to take me out!” Elle added, emphasizing her point with a light chuckle, though her eyes remained sympathetic to Spencer’s plight.
The weight of Elle’s explanation settled heavily on Spencer. It dawned on him how his interactions, though well-intentioned, might appear to others, especially to you. His style, inherently analytical and often indirect, had inadvertently sent the wrong signals, steering your thoughts towards a narrative where he was interested in Elle rather than clarifying his feelings for you.
This misunderstanding struck a chord within him. Spencer had always prided himself on his communication skills when it came to the nuances of unsubs and case theories. Yet, here he was, stumped by personal emotions and interpersonal communications that veered off course.
“Okay, so... I’ve been too subtle,” Spencer acknowledged, almost to himself as much as to Elle. “And she’s misreading the subtlety as disinterest—or worse, interest directed at someone else.”
Elle nodded, squeezing his arm gently. “Exactly, Spencer. You’re thinking like a profiler trying to decipher hidden meanings, but sometimes, directness is key. Maybe it’s time to just tell her how you feel, plainly and clearly. No puzzles, no hints.”
“But—but what if she’s not interested?” Spencer stammered, the creeping sense of insecurity wrapping around him like a heavy blanket. His confidence from earlier was starting to erode. “I mean, she did turn me down on multiple occasions,” he added, his voice softening with self-doubt.
Elle sent him a playful glare, her expression one of disbelief. “Be serious, Reid,” she said, her tone firm but affectionate. “Everyone here can see that she’s into you. Ask anyone.”
Without giving Spencer a chance to stop her, Elle raised her voice, calling across the room, “Hey, JJ!”
Spencer's eyes widened in panic, his face flushing. “Elle! No!” His voice cracked as he tried to stop her, but it was too late.
JJ approached the two of them, a curious smile on her face as she looked between Spencer and Elle. “What’s up, you guys?” she asked, her easy going demeanor not yet aware of the situation she was about to walk into.
“Do you think Y/N is into anyone? Should we set her up?” Elle asked with a mischievous smirk, clearly enjoying Spencer’s discomfort.
JJ’s reaction was immediate—she burst into laughter, glancing between Elle and the now-mortified Spencer. “Are you kidding?!” she laughed, unable to believe the question was even being asked.
“No! Do you have anyone in mind?” Elle pushed, her smirk widening as she kept the act going.
Spencer looked like he wanted to sink into the floor, his mortification plain as he stood there frozen. His mind raced, desperate to find a way to steer the conversation away from himself. But JJ, still chuckling, fixed her gaze directly on Spencer, her expression turning to amused confusion.
“Spencer? Duh! She’s basically in love with you!” JJ declared, her blunt response leaving no room for misunderstanding.
Spencer blinked in disbelief, his mind stumbling over the directness of JJ's words. "W-What?" he stammered, his heart pounding in his chest.
JJ just shook her head, laughing softly. “Reid, it's so obvious. Trust me, you should ask her out.”
"Right," Spencer exhaled heavily, the weight of his nerves tangible in that single word. His eyes followed JJ as she walked away, her knowing smile and shake of her head a clear sign that she was rooting for him.
Elle, observing the entire interaction, turned back to Spencer with a look of determination. “Do you believe me now? You just need to be blunt,” she said firmly, reinforcing the advice with her unwavering gaze. Her stance was one of staunch support, wanting to push Spencer past his habitual overthinking.
Spencer nodded, feeling a bit more fortified by the support of his colleagues. Elle’s insistence on being blunt was exactly the nudge he needed. It was clear that subtlety had not served him well in this arena, and it was time for a change in strategy.
Throughout the week, Spencer made several more attempts to ask you out, each time with a bit more directness than the last, but somehow the message never quite landed. Each time deepening his frustration and your oblivious disappointment.
Spencer joined you at the coffee machine again, a site of many a casual encounter but today, he was armed with determination. "I was thinking," he began, carefully measuring his words, "that maybe you and I could try that new café downtown this Saturday."
You smiled, stirring your coffee absentmindedly, your mind on a deadline you were close to missing. "That sounds like a great break from work. It’ll be good to get the team out and about. Should I send an email to everyone?"
Spencer’s heart sank a little. "Uh, well, I meant more like a... never mind. Yes, let’s get everyone involved," he conceded, hiding his disappointment.
In the midst of discussing a particularly complex case, Spencer tried to weave in a personal invitation as naturally as he could. "And after we wrap this up, maybe you’d like to join me for dinner? I know a place that’s quiet, great for discussing... cases."
You nodded, focused intensely on the case details. "Oh yeah! I already told Pen I’d grab dinner with her after the case, do you want to join us?"
Spencer’s heart sank just a bit as he adjusted his glasses, a gesture that had become a telltale sign of his internal resignation. His intention of a quiet dinner, meant to create a private space for you and him, vanished with your invitation to Penelope. Still, he managed a smile, not wanting his disappointment to show.
“Sure, that sounds great,” Spencer replied, trying to keep his tone light and cheerful. Inside, however, he was strategizing his next move, wondering how he could ever convey his feelings without the constant backdrop of the team.
As the day progressed, his mind kept circling back to the conversation. He appreciated your inclusiveness—always making sure no one felt left out, a trait he admired deeply. Yet, he couldn’t help but wish for a moment where it could just be the two of you, away from the dynamics and distractions of the team.
As you both walked to the parking lot after a long day, Spencer decided to be as clear as he could. "I enjoy spending time with you," he said earnestly. "I was hoping we could maybe go out this weekend, just you and me. What do you think?"
You paused, turning to face him with a puzzled smile, unaware of the mounting frustration behind his calm demeanor. "Sure. What do you want to do? I heard of a nightclub that's supposed to have a disco on Saturdays, we could see if everyone is interested?”
Spencer’s patience, worn thin from repeated attempts, finally faltered. “That doesn’t really sound like my scene,” he replied, a note of desperation creeping into his voice as he motioned between the two of you. “Could we go somewhere more subdued? Just us?”
The simplicity of his request, paired with the intensity of his gesture, made you pause. "You want to hang out? With just me?" you asked, a hint of confusion lacing your words.
“Yes!” Spencer exclaimed, his voice echoing a bit louder than he intended in the quiet space between conversations around you. His hands were in the air, a gesture of his exasperation and earnestness. Realizing how his reaction might have seemed, he quickly lowered his hands and softened his tone. “I mean, yes, I would like to spend time with you. Just us. Maybe somewhere quiet where we can talk. Just... talk.”
Your heart was beating so fast you could barely contain it, “Just the two of us?”
The realization struck you fully now, the words "just the two of us" hanging in the air, tinged with possibility. Spencer nodded, his eyes earnest and hopeful, watching for your reaction.
"Yes, just the two of us," he confirmed, his voice steadier now, filled with a quiet intensity. His gaze never wavered from yours, as if trying to convey all the sincerity he felt directly into your heart.
Your heart raced with the understanding of what he was asking, the implications of this simple request suddenly reshaping the narrative you had constructed in your mind about his feelings. The thought that Spencer, with his brilliant mind and shy demeanor, wanted to spend time alone with you, not for a case discussion or team outing but for something personal, sent a thrill of excitement mixed with nervous anticipation through you.
"Yeah, Spencer," you grinned, your heart still racing but excitement slowly overtaking your nerves. "That sounds nice. Um, I'm free Saturday."
"Saturday works for me," Spencer nodded, his own smile broadening with quiet confidence. "I'll call you?"
You nodded quickly, almost too eagerly, but you didn’t care. "Yeah, mhm, that sounds perfect."
For a moment, you both stood there, a shared anticipation buzzing in the air between you, neither wanting to break the connection just yet. When Spencer finally turned to leave, you found yourself smiling uncontrollably, the prospect of Saturday lingering in your mind, a warmth spreading through you that hadn't been there before.
Your excitement about the upcoming date with Spencer bubbled within you, yet you chose to keep it close to your chest. The thrill of it all felt so fragile, like a dream you didn’t want to jinx by sharing too soon with the rest of the team. This cautious optimism marked your days, turning ordinary moments into a series of hopeful glances at the calendar as Saturday approached.
Meanwhile, Spencer found himself seeking counsel from Elle, who was all too eager to lend her expertise, not just on potential date activities but on the more intimate aspects of dating as well, particularly women. Knowing Spencer’s limited experience—his only kiss having been with Lila Archer during a particularly intense case—Elle took it upon herself to offer some advice.
“Okay, Spencer, listen,” Elle began, her tone both serious and sisterly. “If the moment feels right and you think you want to kiss her, make sure you read her signals. It’s all about mutual understanding and respect, right?”
Spencer nodded, absorbing every word. Elle continued, “Make eye contact, see how she responds. If she seems receptive, maybe lean in halfway and let her meet you the rest of the way. It’s a two-way street.”
“Halfway,” Spencer repeated, mentally noting the advice. Elle’s directness and her willingness to discuss these details without any embarrassment provided him with a strange comfort.
“And, Reid, just be yourself. You’re a great guy. Let that show,” Elle added, giving him an encouraging pat on the shoulder.
Spencer felt nerves and gratitude at Elle’s advice, it was straightforward and practical, and helped ground him. He trusted her judgment, appreciating her sharing of her personal experience, especially when it came to navigating relationships—something he found infinitely more complex than the most puzzling cases.
The phone call on Saturday morning added to the bubbling excitement of the upcoming date. Spencer’s voice was clear and a tad nervous, which you found endearing. He promised a unique experience and asked you not to wear black, a request that piqued your curiosity and set your mind racing with possibilities. What kind of place would require such a specific dress code? The mystery only heightened your anticipation.
You quickly texted him your address, along with a playful note about your curiosity regarding the attire guidelines. Spencer replied with a simple smiley face, keeping the details of the date under wraps, which intrigued you even more.
As you prepared for the evening, you chose an outfit that was comfortable yet charming, avoiding black as instructed. The time leading up to Spencer’s arrival seemed to crawl by, each minute stretching longer than the last. You found yourself glancing at your reflection, adjusting your hair, and double-checking everything, ensuring you were ready when he arrived.
Finally, the sound of a car pulling up snapped you out of your reverie. Glancing out the window, you saw Spencer stepping out of his car, looking around with a nervous excitement that matched your own.
As you stepped outside, your nerves fluttered slightly, but your smile was genuine when you saw Spencer waiting by his car. Waving shyly, you greeted him, "Hi, Spencer."
Spencer looked up, his eyes lighting up as he took in your appearance. "Y/N, you look great," he breathed out, his compliment wrapped in a warm smile that seemed to ease some of the tension between you.
"Thanks, I like your cardigan," you replied, noting the soft, well-worn cardigan he wore that somehow made him look even more approachable and endearing.
His smile widened at the compliment, and he seemed to relax a bit more. "Thanks! It's an old favorite," he admitted, holding the car door open for you.
As you both stepped into the cozy, softly-lit space filled with the gentle sounds of purring and the occasional meow, Spencer immediately began sharing interesting facts about cats. “Did you know that ancient Egyptians considered cats sacred and even had a goddess named Bastet who was depicted as a lioness?” he said, looking into your eyes as you walked past a playful tabby.
Your response was a mix of admiration and amusement. “I didn’t know you were an expert on ancient cultures too,” you teased, feeling comfort and excitement as Spencer chuckled softly, clearly enjoying the opportunity to share his knowledge.
While playing with a particularly friendly cat, Spencer used the opportunity to flirt in his unique way. He gently lifted the cat, holding it out towards you. “It’s interesting how animals can facilitate social interactions, isn’t it? For instance, it's been found that people are more likely to engage in conversations in the presence of animals. They act as social lubricants.”
You laughed, reaching out to pet the cat and feeling a bit flustered by his proximity and the way he looked at you when talking about social dynamics. “Is that your subtle way of telling me you needed a furry wingman for our date?”
Spencer grinned, a hint of mischief in his eyes. “Maybe, but it seems to be working, doesn’t it?”
“I don't know, say lubricant again,” you teased. Spencer's grin widened at your playful challenge, and the atmosphere between you sparked with a shared humor that made the moment light and enjoyable.
He leaned in slightly, adopting a mock-serious tone, "Lubricant," he repeated, emphasizing the word, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
You laughed even harder, your eyes bright with amusement. "Hearing you say 'lubricant' is so funny!"
Spencer, caught up in your joy, couldn’t help but laugh along. “Why?” he asked, his own grin wide as your laughter proved infectious.
"It’s just... it can be a dirtier word," you giggled, trying to explain through your laughter. "And I can’t imagine our resident genius using the word lubricant!"
Spencer's laughter joined yours, ringing out genuinely as he caught the playful jab. The lightness of the moment brought a relaxed glow to his features. "I assure you, the application of the word was purely scientific," he teased back, still chuckling.
The café around you seemed to buzz with the warmth of your shared amusement, creating an intimate bubble amidst the quiet hum of other patrons and the soft padding of cat paws. "I suppose," Spencer continued, his smile lingering, "I should be more careful with my vocabulary around you. You're giving me a whole new perspective on language."
Your laughter gradually subsided into a series of light chuckles, but your eyes were bright with delight. "I think I like this side of you, Spencer," you said, a playful sincerity in your voice. "It’s nice to see you in a different light, not just as the genius profiler but also someone who can joke around about...lubricants."
Spencer's eyes softened, clearly touched by your words. "I'm glad," he said softly, his voice carrying a note of appreciation. "It’s not often I get to show this side, and I’m happy to share it with you."
As you observed the cats seemingly gravitate towards Spencer, who seemed both amused and delighted by their attention, an idea sparked in your mind. It was the perfect segue into a lighthearted flirtation, mixing your shared love for animals with a touch of mystical charm.
"You know, it’s said that animals, especially cats, have a keen sense of good and bad," you started, watching Spencer's reaction as a particularly fluffy cat chose his lap as its new throne. "They're often drawn to people with good auras. I guess they must sense something pretty great about you."
Spencer looked up, his expression a mix of surprise and pleasure at your comment. He laughed softly, a sound that warmed you to the core. "Is that so? Well, I must be on the right track then. Maybe they sense my excellent choice in company for this evening," he replied smoothly, his gaze locking with yours in a moment charged with a gentle intensity as a cat nuzzled its way into your lap as well.
Your heart fluttered slightly at his words, and you smiled, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks. "Oh, so we’re using cat behavior to gauge our decisions now?" you teased back, leaning in a little closer. "In that case, I think they’re on to something because I’m feeling pretty good about my choice too."
Spencer’s smile widened, and he reached over to gently nudge a playful kitten back onto the table, his actions thoughtful and tender. "I'll take that as a high compliment, coming from someone who clearly knows her way around cats and their mysterious ways," he said, his voice soft but filled with an underlying warmth that suggested he was as affected by the exchange as you were.
As the evening wound down, and the café began to prepare for closing, Spencer drove you home. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and you found yourself sharing little anecdotes from your childhood, while Spencer listened intently, always eager to learn more about you.
Before you knew it, you were standing in front of your home. The end of the evening had come too quickly, a sentiment you both silently acknowledged as you lingered at the doorstep, not quite ready to say goodbye.
"Y/N...I had a really nice time today," he said, his voice carrying a warmth that seemed to wrap the evening in a perfect close.
"Me too, Spencer, thank you for asking me. I was kind of shocked," you admitted, your words sincere and open. The evening had unfolded beautifully, but part of you had still been wrestling with the disbelief that it was all really happening.
"Really? Why?" Spencer's curiosity was piqued, his gaze intent on you, wanting to understand more.
You smiled shyly, a nervous habit kicking in as you rubbed behind your ear. "I just... liked you for so long, I never thought you were interested in me too," you confessed, the words tumbling out more easily than you'd expected. The truth had been a quiet companion for so long, and saying it aloud to Spencer felt both freeing and terrifying.
Spencer's expression softened even further, a gentle understanding coloring his features. "Y/N, I’ve been trying to ask you out for two weeks," he confessed. His chuckle was light, trying to ease the tension.
Spencer's revelation brought a mix of relief and amusement. "Really? I had no idea you were trying," you replied, a smile breaking across your face, reflecting both the surprise and joy of the moment.
He nodded, a bit of sheepishness showing through his usual composed demeanor. "Yes, it turns out I'm not as skilled in expressing personal interest as I am with criminal profiles," he admitted, his light laughter mingling with yours.
The air between you felt lighter, a shared understanding dawning that, despite the initial miscommunications, there was a genuine and mutual interest. "Well, I'm glad you kept trying," you said, your tone sincere. "And I'm sorry I didn't pick up on it sooner. I guess I was just scared to get my hopes up."
Spencer reached across the small space between you, his hand hesitating just a moment before gently taking yours. "No more missed signals, okay? Let's promise to be more straightforward with each other," he suggested, his gaze steady and reassuring.
You nodded, squeezing his hand in agreement, feeling a warmth spread through you at the contact. "It's a deal," you responded, your heart feeling both settled and exhilarated by the new promise laid between you.
“So... in honor of being straightforward…” Spencer began, his voice soft but steady, a shy smile playing on his lips. He stepped closer to you, his eyes searching yours, a quiet vulnerability in his gaze. Gently, he took both of your hands in his, his touch warm and reassuring. “Can I kiss you?”
Your heart raced, the moment feeling both tender and surreal. The way he held your hands, the genuine care in his voice—it was everything you'd hoped for, wrapped in Spencer’s uniquely thoughtful way. You felt yourself nod before you even spoke, your breath catching slightly. “Yes,” you whispered, smiling softly, your eyes never leaving his.
Spencer’s smile deepened with relief and excitement. Slowly, he leaned in, his movements deliberate and gentle, giving you every moment to close the gap as well. When your lips finally met, it was soft, sweet, and full of the promise that had been building between you for so long. The world seemed to pause, leaving just the two of you in that quiet, intimate moment, finally aligned in your shared feelings.
When you pulled back, there was a brief silence before you both laughed lightly, the tension melting away completely. "That was… nice," Spencer said, his voice low, his smile radiating warmth.
"Yeah, it really was," you agreed, still feeling the butterflies in your chest as you held onto his hands just a little tighter.
“Oh, and for the record,” Spencer chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he took in your reaction, “I don’t like Elle—romantically, of course. She’s my best friend.”
Your face flushed with sudden embarrassment, realizing he'd caught on to your earlier assumptions. “Oh, I—well, uh...” you stammered, struggling to find the right words.
Spencer's smile remained soft and reassuring. “It’s okay, Y/N,” he said warmly, squeezing your hands gently. “Elle is super gay, not sure how you missed that, and... I really like you.”
His words, so genuine and direct, melted away the last bit of tension you’d been holding onto. You laughed lightly, the awkwardness dissolving into relief. “Well, that’s good to know,” you said with a grin, finally allowing yourself to fully relax into the moment.
Spencer's grin mirrored yours as he added, “I just wanted to clear that up. No more misunderstandings.” His gaze softened as he looked at you, the weight of unspoken feelings now out in the open.
“No more misunderstandings,” you agreed, feeling the warmth of his words and the certainty that everything between you was finally where it should be.

Tumblr media
The clatter of fingertips tapping against a keyboard filled the dimly lit BAU office. You sit at your desk, eyes fixed on the glowing screen as you scroll through reports, cross-referencing case files and taking notes. The quiet hum of the building has long since settled into a lull; you barely realize how deeply you've fallen into your work,
The distant ticking of a clock finally breaks your trance, but it wasn't until you feel the hairs arise on the back of your neck that you become fully aware. You slowly blink with a quiet groan, glancing at the time at the bottom of your screen.
10:58 PM. Shit.
You align your fingertips atop of your keyboard, the soft clatter filling the office once more before you hear the all-too familiar voice.
"Babes, what are you still doing here?!"
You turn and see nobody else but Garcia, finally emitting from her bat-cave. Her arms cross against her chest, a disappointed hum coming from her pressed lips. "You, my love, should be at home in a nice hot bath with a glass of wine."
Your lips splay a lazy smirk as you lean back in your chair, stretching your body with a quiet groan. "I was just about to wrap up, Pen, I promise..." You assure your colleague, feeling the strain of staring at a screen all day every time that you blink.
"Good deal my beautiful bug," Penelope chirps as her arms drop to her side. She's just as tired as you are, having spent all of her day digging through databases to find information on a potential UnSub. Her heals click as she goes to turn away, walking back towards her office.
"You know, you have to get your beauty sleep for your lover boy in the mor..." Her once confident words grow timid as she begins to trail off.
Penelope's breath catches in her throat as she realizes the words that so effortlessly flew off her tongue, her blood running cold at her grave error. Spencer is going to kill her.
"My what?" Your eyes narrow, scoffing in a confused manner.
She stills, yet she doesn't turn to you.
"Nothing! I... I didn't say anything..." She mutters with a nervous stammer of your name, the rhythmic clicking of her heels continuing as she speeds to her office.
You stand, the wheels of your office chair sliding out from under you as you feel a weakness in both of your legs. You stretch once more, trying to think of when the last time you even stood was.
"Penelope Grace Garcia!"
Her hand is resting on the cold, slick material of the doorknob that has the potential to separate her from this deep abyss that she just dug herself into. Instead, she stills for another moment before turning to you once more.
Penelope has to think of a lie, and quick.
"Obviously... I was talking about Morgan!"
There is a reason why she does what she does for a living, and is rarely out on the field with the rest of the crew unless her technical skills are needed.
Your eyes squint with a tentative hum. You don't believe Garcia, not for a second.
"You do know I'm a profiler..." A grumble of amusement comes from your chest at Penelope's attempt.
"Right..." She murmurs, her voice quiet as she breaks your gaze. She's mentally kicking herself for blabbing, such a rookie mistake in the game of workplace gossip.
Your eyebrows raise as you await Garcia's confession. However, she stays strong, not uttering another peep from her velvet-painted lips.
"So...?" You sing after a beat of silence, stars of hope glistening in the pools of your eyes.
With a whine, Penelope's shoulders drop.
"Look... I love you, sweetness, I do..." Her lips droop into a frown. Penelope's eyes greet your own somberly with a shake of her own head. "But I promised I wouldn't tell..."
You feel a weight of disappointment on your chest, and with a sigh, you decide to drop it. Penelope sees the way the sparkle in your eye begins to dim, eliciting a whine from her barely audible to your own ears.
"But!" She chirps, trying to share some of her own light with you. Penelope shouldn't be doing this, and she knows it. However, she is far too nurturing to let a beautiful smile like yours falter for even a second. "If you guess it... it's not technically me telling you, right?"
"You know? I like the way your mind thinks," You hum, reveling in the fact that you got your way. "Twenty questions?" The cold sensation of the faux-leather hits you as you sit back in your chair.
The corner of Penelope's lips twitch upwards as a combination of guilt and excitement course through her veins. "You know I love a good game, hit me..." She murmurs, her voice self-assured as she pulls a chair from a nearby desk, her legs crossing as she sits next to you.
"Okay..." You mutter with a shaky sigh. The pounding of your heart fills your entire body, your stomach slightly cramping with nerves. "Is it someone I know?"
"Uh, duh?"
Your eyes flutter shut, raking through potential victims that fell for whatever love trap you didn't even intent on setting. "Male or female?"
"Acht! That's not part of the rules my curious friend and you know it," Her dark eyes narrow as she playfully scolds her colleague. "I'm totally counting it though, eighteen more questions..."
With pressed lips, you weigh out the obvious individuals who are least likely to be a contender. Penelope sees how deep you are in thought, and she can't help herself but quietly scoff.
How can you not know it's Spencer? She thinks to herself. Everyone around the office sees it -- everyone but you, apparently. As you think, her mind wanders to about two months prior, where Spencer came to her for love advice. Penelope, being herself, already knew he was fawning over you. She picked up on it the moment the genius somehow grew more awkward every time he were to speak to you.
However, also being herself, she refused to give him any sound advice until he spilled who the lucky contender was; which just so happened to be you.
The sound of your voice pulls her out of her own mind.
"Do I see them often?"
The corners of her lips prop upwards, almost tauntingly. "Very," she affirms.
Someone you see very often... you mentally walk through your day-to-day routine, retracing every step no matter how minuscule. You awake every morning to nobody in your apartment but your cat, besides the occasional sleepover with a friend every now and again. You ready yourself for work alone, your first stop in the morning being the local coffee shop down the street...
"Ooh! Is it someone from the coffee shop?" You chirp, your heart beginning to race at the idea of an unspoken stranger admiring your beauty from afar. Individuals you see there on a day-to-day basis flood your mind, although it completely falls empty for the exception of one person; a barista behind the counter, roughly your age who is not bad looking in the slightest.
"That would be a negative..." Her red-painted lips press together, a slight pang of disappointment hitting you in the gut that it wasn't the barista.
"Darn..." You tut, your mind trying to silently place the pieces of the puzzle together. Someone you know, someone you see often, not someone from the coffee shop...
Penelope can't believe how oblivious you are. How do you not pick up on the fact that Spencer follows you around the office like a lost puppy? Or the fact that when the two of you are on the field together, he insists you go with him or vice versa because he feels the need to protect you?
"No way that it's a colleague?" Your brows stitch together, your head slanting as you throw the inconceivable idea into the open.
Penelope's head slightly tilts downwards as she gazes at you through the top of her frames. She flashes you a sly, almost flirtatious grin at your not-so-far-fetched theory.
"And if it is?"
The feeling of your heart hammering in your heart is felt throughout your entire body, your cheeks warming as you feel blood rush to your brain.
"Who?!" You exclaim, completely forgoing the rules to the game. This narrows your options to about seven. Your hands fumble with the cotton on the hem of your shirt as you narrow your options down even further, a shuttering breath falling from your lips.
"How do you not know?!" Penelope is quick to match your energy, an actual pain shooting through her chest at your own naivety. Her brows raise as her eyes widen, her fists balling as she folds herself back from blurting it out.
Your lips part as you're about to exclaim something quick and witty back to your colleague when it hits you. Like a fish gulping for water, you feel the soft skin of your lips quickly snap shut.
The memories hit you all at once: the mornings you're in a rush and you forget your coffee - Reid excusing himself for a moment with a muttered excuse before returning with it minutes later, the nights you return home from a case and he offers to spend time with you because it pains you being alone after what you saw, the countless facts he will ramble to you on the plane because damn it, you're the only one that actually listens to him.
"Oh my god, Reid?" Your jaw drops as you gasp, your arms numbing as your nerves shoot past the roof and to the stratosphere.
With a relieved sigh, Penelope's palms slap against her thighs, planting her leg down onto the floor with her other one. "Finally!" She groans, almost feeling a sense of comfort that you know and the weird tension around the office while the two are around would soon come to an end.
"Since when?!" Your heart ticks against your chest so hard that you can hear it in your ears. Never in a million years would you assume it would be Spencer that would be silently pining over you. Reid?!
"Since like... forever, buttercup!" Penelope giggles. She can see the dots being connected in the pretty little brain of yours, and god, she loves it. Her voice softens, a warm, almost maternal intent behind them. "We really should be getting home..." She groans, her gaze flicking to the clock on the wall. "Since you two are totes madly in love already, let me know when one of you decides to make the move, okay?"
With a roll of your eyes, the back of your hand ever so gently strikes the side of Garcia's arm. She notices the way blush speckles across your face, a knowing grin playing against her own. You can't ignore the way your chest fuzzes over at the thought of Spencer feeling about you the way you feel about him, it makes your stomach ache with desire; you don't know if you love or hate the sensation.
"Goodnight, Garcia..." A mix between a chuckle and a sigh of contentment is emitted from you. She mumbles a quick 'good night' with a quick, playful wink before standing from her chair, returning it to its original home.

The next morning you're in a hurry to get to work, oversleeping by a long shot as it took you forever to wind down last night due to your wandering thoughts.
You get to your desk with merely minutes to spare, a tired, overwhelmed groan falling from your lips as you place your bag in your desk and splay your jacket against the back of your chair.
"Long night last night, agent?"
You don't even have to look up to know who it is... your body freezes for a moment, not sure if you're prepared to deal with this; not yet, anyways.
With a soft sigh, your gaze is lifted and immediately greeted with Spencer's. His large, curious and caring stare. His hazel eyes almost bare into your own, causing a tingle to run down your spine. You try to ignore the butterflies that patter within the walls of your stomach, yet they're hard to confine.
"Yeah... I'm fine, Reid," You nod, your lips tentatively pressing together. "Just didn't sleep worth the damn last night... just... thinking about the case..." You trail, the sound of your voice growing softer and quieter like a beautiful decrescendo.
His lips part for just a moment, an inaudible 'ah' coming from him before giving you an understanding nod.
"I figured... Garcia told me you were here late last night and I kind of... presumed this may happen," He muses with an awkward chuckle. "Which is why... I brought you this..."
Reid's tall frame trails away from your desk for a moment, which draws out a soft hum from you as you tap your fingertips against the smooth, cool material of your desk.
His long stride is quick to return, your heart almost leaping out of your throat as he sees what's within his long, slender fingers.
Your favorite coffee.
You accept the gesture, your stomach doing flips as you take the cup within the confines of your own grasp. You mumble something quick and playful, telling Spencer that he is your favorite person in the world right now for such a small action.
The feeling of someone else watching you is burned into the back of your skull, a sensation churning in your gut that you can't shake. Your gaze flicks over to the side, in which you're immediately greeted by Garcia.
She not-so-subtly flashes two thumbs up at you, her nails painted a shade of dark purple. "Go get 'em!" She mouths in approval, your gaze quickly turning over to the male in front of you in attempt to hide Penelope's matchmaking attempt.
"Hey... do you um... maybe want to get coffee at this place together sometime?" You attempt to thickly swallow down your nerves, trying to soothe the heartbeat creeping out of your chest.
Spencer is silent a moment, his lips twitching upwards in a sign of approval at your suggestion. You see the thoughts shifting through his mind, the rates of his blinks increasing in a sense of disbelief that you're actually asking him this.
"I-- um... yeah! Let's do tomorrow before work? If... you're okay getting up that early, if not we can totally do a different time, perhaps--"
"Tomorrow it is..." You cut him off, something you rarely do. He nods in agreement, a quiet 'tomorrow' mumbled from his lips as he attempts to conceal his excitement.
You’re not sure how to shake off the butterflies in your stomach, but Spencer’s shy smile is enough to make you feel warm all over. You take a sip of your coffee, letting the moment linger. Before you can say anything else, Garcia’s voice breaks through your thoughts, louder than life.
"You two better not cancel on me! I want details!" she teases from across the room, flashing a mischievous grin your way. You roll your eyes, but you can’t help the chuckle that escapes your lips.
Spencer, now fully aware of the matchmaker’s antics, lets out a soft laugh, running a hand through his hair, looking even more flustered than before.
You meet his gaze again, a new kind of tension settling between you—a mix of nerves, excitement, and something deeper that you’re not ready to name just yet. You take a breath, feeling that the next chapter of whatever this is has already started, and it’s thrilling.
“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then,” you murmur, unable to stop the grin that’s threatening to split your face. Spencer nods, his smile small but genuine, as he turns to head to his desk.
As he walks away, you catch a glimpse of Garcia again, this time with an exaggerated wink. You shake your head, but you can’t suppress the warmth blooming in your chest. Tomorrow’s going to be interesting, to say the least.
And maybe... just maybe, things are finally falling into place.

John Price x wife!reader OC
Summary: John Price and his son find themselves being teased relentlessly because you stopped by to drop them off lunch.
Warnings: swearing, sexual themes, sexual harassment, violence, blood, domestic arguments, one tiny part of fat shaming, not edited.
——————
“God damn it.” You muttered to yourself as you struggled to grab hold of the reusable shopping bags from your back seat. They’d fallen over on your drive here and the tupperware needed to be reorganized in to neat towers again. A bag had gotten jammed under the seat so you were practically lying on your belly and kicking off the ground to dislodge it.
It was a Saturday and your plans had fallen through. You were suppose to spend the day with your daughters who ended up ditching you to go see a movie and grab food together. At one point your youngest called you ‘lame’ which you tried to pretend like it didn’t hurt. So you gave them money and let the 19 and 13 year old make a day of it.
Having the house to yourself felt strange and you went a little overboard with the grocery shopping and cooking. You made an American classic of fried chicken, baked beans with salt pork, cornbread, green beans, and a key lime pie. Maybe you were homesick or something because none of these were easy to make and you made a mountain of food for only you. Or maybe you were trying to find an excuse to bring your husband lunch so you could see someone who’d be glad to share your company.
You weren’t sure your son would be happy but once he saw what you brought he’d be fine. At least you hoped he would be. You had never visited your son on base before. Usually John snuck you in the side door and then snuck you back out. This was so you two could eat lunch in peace and then he could fuck you in his office if he had the time. John thought it would be more suspicious if he was locking his office door when everyone had seen you and he wasn’t about to get caught at work.
“Fuck.” You pouted down at your once beautiful key lime pie. You had decorated it meticulously with little swirls of whipped cream and a candied lime slice in the middle. Now it was smeared across the faded yellow custard and looking a mess.
“It’ll still taste good.” You mumbled before placing it back in your bag.
“You okay ma’am? You’ve been talking to yourself for a while.” An unknown voice sounded from behind you.
Internally you cringed not realizing how you’d been babbling out loud to yourself. Turning you saw a young man sitting in his truck with the window down. He’d been there when you pulled in to the spot next to him but didn’t pay him any attention. He looked to be a similar age to your son, he had blonde neatly cut hair, black sunglasses, and looked tan for his light complexion.
“Yeah sorry. Just dropping off food to my son.” You held up the bags as your evidence.
“Who’s your boy?” He asked.
You couldn’t see it because of the sunglasses but the young man was shamelessly checking you out. It started when you were bent over your back seat trying to get the bag from under the seat and he was able to see your round ass in those jeans. Things only became better for the young man when he realized you had a pretty face to boot.
“Shouldn’t you introduce yourself first?” It was a playful way of deflecting as you knew your son and husband wouldn’t want you going around saying who you were. They could both get so embarrassed by your mere existence. John told you he was still teased about being an old man with a young wife, although you two were only three years apart in age.
“Private Wakefield, nice to meet you-“ He gestured for you to share your name. With a sigh you realized you weren’t getting out of this.
“Price.” You smiled kindly.
“You’re Mags mum? Wait that means you’re the Captain’s wife.” The look that took over Wakefield’s face had you feeling apprehensive. He seemed to be a little too thrilled to have made the connection and it made your stomach sink.
Coming was a bad idea.
“Yup, well gotta go. Nice to meet you.” Waving politely you closed your car door with your hip and went to scurry away.
“Wait, you’re an American? I would’ve never guessed Captain Price would marry an American!” The new friend you made called after you but you pretended not to hear him and continued on your way.
After sharing your ID more times than you thought necessary you were finally permitted into the expansive building where John’s office was. Walking down the corridor you were given smirks and confident grins from the men you passed. There were a few hellos and men purposefully stopping to hold the door for you when you weren’t close to it. You double checked your bra wasn’t showing or something because you could feel the unwanted eyes locking on to you.
To the men around a pretty woman in civilian clothes hardly ever graced them in these parts so you were quite the treat to look at. You weren’t dressed in anything crazy, just a pair of light skinny jeans, a fitted black long sleeve, and black booted heels with your hair down. You wore this to work, it didn’t feel like a sexy little outfit or anything.
Turning the corner you ran straight into a brick wall of a human. Thankfully you’d run into this man plenty before because he never got out of someone’s way, he expected others to move. After accidentally smushing your face into Simon Riley’s rock hard chest you stumbled back a few steps. His large mitt of a hand caught you by the elbow as your heels clicked and made you more off balance.
“What the hell are you doing here?” No hellos, no pleasantries, he was the same old rude asshole you’d come to love. When he saw you stable on your feet he let go.
“A hello would be nice.” You retorted only to have blank eyes stare down at you.
Simon was dressed in his usual all black military get up and had on the same dumb mask that you hated. There was a smudge of your foundation in the center of his chest from where you ran into him. You always gave him grief about his mask when he would come over and take it off, asking why he couldn’t be a normal person and just not wear it. He usually ignored you or started a conversation with someone else.
“Bringing John and Jj lunch. And if you’re nice I packed something for you and Gaz too.” That seemed to whip Simon into shape. You watched as behind the mask his eyes softened at the mention of your cooking. He loved to tell you American food was shite while he asked for seconds.
“I’ll take it off your hands and feed it to the dogs.” It wasn’t said in a playful tone but you knew it was lighthearted by now, he was just a smart ass who liked getting a rise out of you.
“Hold this.” You shoved one of the bags into his chest and he took it after an eye roll.
You wiped the foundation you left behind off his chest and he stared down with an angry look that you were touching him. While you were rummaging through the bag Simon watched carefully, noticing a pie sitting at the bottom. He also noticed each container had the same contents but different portions of different things. They were all labeled in your neat handwriting so you wouldn’t get confused on who’s was who’s.
“Here. And stop by John’s office in a little I made pie too, I just have to cut it. Oh and here’s Gaz’s, give it to him please.” Handing over two glass tupperware containers Simon grinned under the mask, happy you couldn’t see his excitement.
You’d made this exact meal once before and him, Gaz, and Soap devoured the entirety of it leaving a very pissed off John who wanted leftovers. Simon also was the one who primarily cooked at home, his wife found it tedious and wasn’t exactly good at it, so he almost never turned down a free meal especially from someone who could cook like you.
“Those the beans with the fat?” Simon internally said ‘fuck it’ you could win today and know he actually liked you the tiniest bit.
“Yeah, I put extra in yours because I remember you liked it so much. Recipe is also taped to the bottom.” You gave him a playful wink, tapping your finger on the bottom of his container that had a cartoon ghost that you drew on it instead of writing his name. Gaz had a double portion of cornbread which meant to Simon you noticed he liked that the best; he saw you had also put a heart next to his name. Part of him hated to admit how thoughtful you were because it meant you were as sharp eyed as the Captain.
“Thanks.” He smiled under his mask and you could tell by the way his eyes crinkled.
“Now, fuck off.” And there he was, back to his normal unpleasant self. Handing you back the bag he went on his way and you watched as people scampered out of his way as to not get trucked down.
“Such an ass.” You quietly laughed to yourself.
“You Ghosts girl? Didn’t think the man was capable of affection.” A man passing by joked.
“I’m joking, he doesn’t seem like the type you’d be interested in.” You could see the young man was ready to stop and chat just by the way he looked at you; which was somewhat unsettling. Before you could respond Simon was back and crowding the man’s space.
“Leave her be.” Simon’s voice boomed through the corridor; he sounded almost demonic.
Those in ear shot looked from Ghost to you and everyone instantly got the message; all around averting their gaze from you. Ghost was living up to his name, he looked and felt like a looming black mass as he intimidated this poor recruit until the boy was practically running down the hall. Looking down the hall Simon seemed to notice something you didn’t.
“Piss right off Wakefield.” He barked.
Turning to look you saw the same young man you met outside but he didn’t seem scared of Ghost one bit. He gave you a wave, smile and a cheeky wink before turning on his heels and walking in the opposite direction.
”Go to Caps office. No detours.” Simon roughly motioned for you to be on your way. He was so use to everyone around him being intimidated by him or even unsettled but you never seemed to be; besides the first time you met.
“Please goes a long way.” You smiled politely before taking off down the hall. No one else got under Ghost’s skin like you, and you were lucky you gave him food or he’d be barking something rude in your direction.
Now you were walking a bit faster to get to John’s office, you didn’t want to have anymore conversation because your husband would be giving you an ear full as is. Once he heard Simons account of everything John would be pissed.
Once you reached the door with ‘Captain Price’ neatly written across the fogged window you felt relieved. Knocking lightly you heard a gruff and frankly annoyed ‘Come in.’ Opening the door you couldn’t help but smile brightly seeing your handsome husband with his head shoved into some paper work and not bothering to look who was here. He was dressed in a beige quarter zip that was camouflage on the sleeves. It was neatly tucked into his faded beige cargo pants with a belt fasted around his waist and boots tied up nice and neat.
“What?” John asked sounding utterly unpleasant. You weren’t sure how anyone came to ask him things with an attitude like that.
“Hungry?” Your sweet voice had John’s head snapping up so fast you swore he would give himself whiplash.
“What are you doing here?” John sounded caught off guard; he was ecstatic to see you instead of someone who’d be asking him for something. Standing quickly John was rounding his desk and shutting his office door behind you, then taking the bags from you. He placed them on his desk getting a wiff of something amazing.
“The girls went out and didn’t want me to come. Told me I was lame. So I tried cooking to distract myself, I went kind of overboard. It’s better fresh so I thought I’d bring it here for you.” You felt a bit embarrassed now admitting why you were here. You didn’t feel ‘lame’ when your daughter called you it but now you did.
“You, lame?” John glanced over his shoulder as he emptied the bags you had brought.
“Yeah, guess I’m finally uncool to Lily.” Stepping forward you were still waiting for a hug and kiss hello, but you didn’t get one. Your face went to a deadpan one as you watched John pop off the lid to his lunch and immediately bite into one of the chicken thigh you put in there. He tapped the name you wrote on top and chuckled; it read ‘Captain Sexy.’
“You gave me all thighs, fuck, you know me so well.” Talking with his mouth full you continued to watch your husband stuff his face as if no one were watching. John had been thinking about lunch for the last hour but didn’t want to subject himself to the food on base.
“So I don’t get a hug or kiss?” You asked and John was adamantly shaking his head ‘no.’
“Gotta eat it while it’s still crispy.” He spoke with his mouth full and pointed at the glass container sitting on his desk with the bare bone he’d cleaned off in record time.
“That good?” With a little laugh you lightened up significantly seeing how in to the food John was. He was such a satisfying person to cook for, always humming and shaking his head in approval when he really liked something.
“Yes! Here, darling, sit.” John gestured to his desk chair that was the comfiest seat in the room. Wiping his hands off haphazardly he came and guided you around his desk and to his chair; giving you a greasy peck to the lips along the way. Once you were seated he was back to standing by the side of his desk and eating.
“These the beans with the fat? Uh, Boston baked beans right?” John’s eyes sparkled as he asked, he looked like a little boy on Christmas.
“Right, just how you like.” With a smile you saw John’s whole face light up like he was getting away with something.
“There’s a spoon in that drawer, pass it to me please.” Pointing to the drawer to your left you swiveled in your chair surprised John kept cutlery in his desk.
Opening it up you saw a clear plastic container with a metal fork, knife, spoon, and chopsticks. You’d never seen this before, but it made you snort out a laugh that there was what use to be a yellow cartoon figure in the bottom corner that John tried to scratch off.
“Where’d you get these?” You asked handing him the container.
“Korea.” John said simply. It made sense when you glanced over the set again. The spoon shape was a lot different and the chopsticks were made of metal.
“We should go to Korea soon. I haven’t been since before I met you.” Smiling up at John you enjoyed watching him devour the lunch you packed. He even ate the green beans which was surprising since he hated vegetables. Nodding simply, a knock sounded on his door. Before either of you could respond it was quickly opened.
Jj slid into the room, only opening the door enough for his body to fit through. He had an angry look on his face which made him look even more like his father than he already did. Jj was dressed in beige cargo pants, an army green t-shirt, and had on a baseball cap with the British flag.
“Your mum cooked. Eat it before it goes soggy.” John grabbed the container with Jj’s name on top, it read ‘Sun’ with a cartoon sun drawn next to it, and waved it around for his son to take. The food didn’t seem to shake the anger radiating off your boy as he walked up to his father’s desk and stared down at you with narrowed eyes.
“What are you doing here?” He hissed seemingly a lot angrier than you first expected.
“Oi, don’t be like that. Your mum cooked up a feast, and a bloody good one at that.” John placed the container back on his desk and lightly shoved his son by the shoulder to hopefully knock some sense in to him.
“Just you wait! Wakefield was goin’ on and on about some ‘bird’ with a ‘tight arse and big tits’ and then asked if ‘my MILF of a mum’ planned on staying with an old tyrant like you.” Jj snapped recounting everything in way too much detail for your or John’s liking. He wasn’t holding back because the shock value would hopefully keep you far away from here.
“I have a tight ass?” You joked, playfully looking to your husband. It was your attempt at diffusing the tension. They both snapped their heads at you and looked at you with daggers in their eyes. Instinctively you put your hands up in defense.
“Enough, take your food and leave.” John was shaking his head, visibly upset. It still didn’t stop him from continuing to stand by the side of his desk and eat.
“Mum, go home. I don’t need you around here humiliating me.” Jj’s response to you stopping by instantly had your chest tightening.
You weren’t sure what you had done to humiliate your son, unless bringing your boys food constituted that. Maybe it was your daughter’s uninviting you from their outing but this treatment today felt undeserved and had you feeling a painful burning pressure behind your eyes. John knew you well enough that hearing that was something that would have you crying before bed. Looking at you he could see just how hurt you were.
“Excuse me?” John’s entire demeanor changed from being reasonably upset to outright irate.
Something John had learned to accept in his marriage was that he had the pleasure of having a hot wife who was aging like fine wine. He would never get comfortable with the lingering stares or you getting hit on, but he’d learned to think about it differently. You were a woman worth desiring for more than your beauty and John was the lucky man who was able to call you his. The jealousy would always rage inside of him but nowadays it took a gentle kiss from you and those bright eyes he loved so dearly to snap him out of it.
John also knew you didn’t like the attention and played off how uncomfortable it made you with humor. It deeply hurt you to think your family or husband was embarrassed of you for the way you looked. Yes it happened to be because you were pretty but that didn’t matter to you, it was hurtful all the same. So for John to hear you being treated in a way that you were already self conscious about, he knew it would deeply wound you. And there was no way in hell he was going to stand by and let that happen to you.
“You’re not going to do anything about it, so she should leave.” Jj answered back shortly, his father was seething but trying his best not to lose his temper in front of you.
“I’ll do plenty.” John spoke simply, scrapping down the glass and shoveling the last few bites in his mouth.
“Really? Seems like you’d rather be a fat as-“
“ENOUGH!” John shouted so loudly you swore the windows shook, his voice dropping to a scary octave.
Forget Simon John was ten times scarier. The reaction was so strong you almost jumped out of your skin. You were surprised the glass container didn’t shattered as John tossed it on to his desk and you quickly caught it before it fell to the floor. It left you feeling anxious to hear your husband so uncharacteristically upset; although maybe that was normal here.
Jj stood there silently, falling right into line. The irritation from before seemed to wash off him while he stood up straight and emotionless.
“Your sisters have upset your mum enough today! Then she does something nice for you and you treat her like an embarrassment for the way she looks!?” John was now in your unblinking son’s face and he didn’t hold back. The stoic expression Jj wore was the same you’d seen from pictures of John’s early days in the military.
“And if you want to talk about fat asses you should lay off the beer, it’s starting to show!” The last bit was a low shot since Jj had put on a few pounds from drinking with his buddies. Sitting there silently you continued to cringe at what you saw as a complete overreaction from your husband.
“Yes, sir.” Jj spoke through gritted teeth. It was clear to you Jj wanted to tell John exactly where he could go but the hierarchical bullshit the military was built on stopped him.
“Get out. And if Wakefield makes you so emotional deal with it yourself instead of running to tattle to daddy.” John had stopped shouting but his words were still cruel. Making Jj sound weak by using the word ‘emotional’ and a child for coming to John.
“John.” You whispered, trying to get him to tone it down a notch.
“Thanks, mum.” Jj grabbed his lunch container and nodded to you with a blank expression before exiting his father’s office. Once the door clicked shut behind him John let out a frustrated grunt.
“Little overboard don’t you think?” You asked, slack jawed. You had seen your husband lose his temper plenty of times over the years with your children; but never like this. At home John was strict but cruel words weren’t really his style.
“No, I’m not going to treat him any differently than if someone else came and spoke to you or me like that.” John grumbled before rounding his desk.
You wanted to argue back but decided against it. It wasn’t your place, this was John’s work and that may be your son but even Jj confirmed John treated him like everyone else. John leaned over you, getting into your personal space and fiddled with his computer. You could smell his spicy warm cologne and aftershave. Watching closely you saw him pulling up personnel files until ‘Peter Wakefield’ was on the screen.
“You meet Wakefield or was he one of the men to check your ID?” John asked.
“Met him outside. I tried to not give him my name. That’s also not him.” You pointed at the screen feeling on edge.
John clicked his mouse and brought up the next file. It was ‘Thomas Wakefield’ and John looked back at you and hummed in acknowledgment, you shook your head yes.
“This kids a little prick. Simon hates him too, so no surprise he’s stirring up trouble for J.” Breathing heavily through his nose John started to contemplate how he’d make the little shit pay.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have stopped by.” You blurted out the words which immediately caught John’s attention. Turning to look at you he could see just how upset you were, on the verge of tears.
“Don’t. I’m happy you’re here.” Squatting in front of you John took your hands in his. His blue eyes were much softer than before. Your normal husband had returned and Captain Price had vanished.
“I don’t mean to embarrass you guys. I just wanted to do something nice. If I kn-“ Cutting you off John kissed you.
His lips pressed firmly against yours, a silent plea of him asking you to stop talking. John stayed there and kissed you with so much passion he was soon kneeling between your thighs and making out with you. It felt natural to fall into John’s warmth and kiss him back with just as much yearning. You didn’t need him to tell you he wanted you here it was obvious he did the moment he realized you were here. Now he was showing you through his desires that he more than wanted you here.
The makeout session you found yourself in killed all the insecure thoughts. John wanted you to feel beautiful and he knew just the way to do that. Continuing to kiss and suck on your lips like a man starved his hands began to wander. The way he was getting worked up was a surprise but now he was fondling your breasts under your shirt and making your eyes roll to the back of your head.
“Price.” A voice all too familiar barked from outside his door, followed by a firm single knock.
John pulled away, his pupils blown wide and eating up the blue you loved so much. He seemed in a daze as he glanced at your lips and then began to stand, rough hands slipping from under your shirt.
“I’ll finish you later.” John leaned in and whispered in your ear, leaving you with a scratchy kiss to the cheek. His sultry words had you pressing your thighs together.
“What?” John called, sounding pissed off as his office door began to open.
Simon walked in, his frame taking up most of the doorway as he entered. You wondered if he could tell by how close John was to you what you two had been up to. It wasn’t the closeness that gave you two away, it was that doe eyed look you had. Almost as if you were lost in a day dream.
“Your son’s beating the shit out of Wakefield. Do you want me to stop him?” Taking his thumb Simon pointed over his shoulder to no where in particular.
“What!?” You practically yelled standing so quickly John’s chair flew out from under you and slammed into the wall.
“You came here to ask instead of breaking it up?” John stared at Simon with his eyebrows knit and looking at the lieutenant as if he were dumb.
“Giving the kid a chance to get a couple more good hits in. Should’ve heard what Wakefield said about her.” Simon nodded in your direction.
“Simon Riley, you go get my son!” You hissed at him. Hand dropping to his side Simon stared at you a moment before speaking.
“Don’t take orders from you. That’s why I asked Price.” His nonchalant attitude towards you was getting old fast. You were about to verbally tear him to shreds but John had spoken before you could.
“Fuckin’ hell go break it up. Im coming.” Snatching his hat from his desk John marched out of his office with you hot on his heels.
“Darling, stay put you know this is only going to upset you.” John didn’t bother shooing you away because there was no use.
“Fuck that.” Nothing was going to keep you from checking on your son. Your maternal side couldn’t stop the worry that took over hoping he wasn’t too banged up.
Ghost lead you and John outside of the building to where the sand pit was. The pit was most commonly used for punishment and Jj Price had full intention of capitalizing on that. Jj had Wakefields face pushed into the sand with his thigh as he had the young man in an arm bar.
“Say it again and I’ll break your fucking arm!” Jj was scary looking as he threatened Wakefield. You hated to admit it but he was turning out to be just as hot tempered as John was at this age.
“BREAK IT UP!” John voice boomed through the air.
Again you flinched at the volume your husband was capable of reaching. It was truly scary to be around any man that yelled like that but something about John’s presence made him that much scarier. Deciding you didn’t want to have any implication with what was going on or lose any hearing you stood by the door.
You watched as Jj let go and both young men were quickly scrambling to their feet, only Jj got one last shove in and sent Wakefield tumbling face first back into the coarse sand. Once on his feet Wakefield lunged at Jj who seamlessly push kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying. You watched with a pained expression as John shoved Jj back and then proceeded to yank Wakefield up to his feet. Shouts were ringing through the air as John berated them both for fighting.
Wakefields face was red and he had a bloody crooked nose that didn’t seem to want to stop gushing. As John reprimanded both men Wakefield had to lean to the side every so often to spit out the blood that continuously flowed into his mouth from his nose. You could see his nose was angled awkwardly now and a black eye was beginning to form. Jj on the other hand didn’t have a scratch on him, he only had sand sticking to his sweaty skin and Wakefields sunglasses hooked into the collar of his shirt. The little shit didn’t think hitting the poor boy was enough he just had to steal his sunglasses too.
“Indy!” Kyle’s voice sounded from behind you as he exited the double doors you were standing next to.
“Kyle hey.” You glanced between what was now your husband shouting his guts out and Kyle giving you a warm smile.
“Ghost said you had some food for me. You really didn’t have to, but, I’m starved.” Kyle carried on like John losing his god damn mind was normal. He clapped his hands and rubbed them together in anticipation.
“How are you not worried.” You pointed at John who was beginning to go hoarse from shouting. You couldn’t even make out what he was saying at this point, only that your son and Wakefield stayed expressionless as John screamed in their faces.
“Ah Caps like that everyday. There’s always someone new for him to yell at.” Kyle waved it off and continued to give you a pleasant smile.
“Everyday?” You asked in disbelief.
“Yeah, you get use to it. So the food?” Kyle brushed past your shock and was nodding at you to answer his question.
“Gave it to Simon to give to you.” You said off handed eyes fixed on the young man with blood pouring from his nose. He was going to need to get his nose reset, you were sure of that.
“No you didn’t. He said you told him to have me look for you.” Giving you a confused look your face dropped. Instantly you knew Simon had most likely eaten both portions and played it off like they were his.
“He’s such an ass.” You mumbled.
“So no food?” The dejected look Kyle had on his face lasted for only a second as he tried act like it didn’t bother him. He didn’t want you feeling bad, he wasn’t entitled to your cooking. Although he use to make fun of Soap for asking for your recipes when he now too did the same.
“No, I made an extra plate just in case. But it doesn’t have extra cornbread which I know is your favorite.” With a heavy sigh your head hung low. Today was not going your way. None of the men in your life wanted to behave like civilized people.
“Indy, you’re the fuckin’ best!” Kyle grasped you by the shoulders and lightly shook you for emphasis. The gesture had you laughing lightly your mood lifting only somewhat. He was trying to cheer you since Kyle truly thought of you as a friend.
“Don’t touch her!” John barked at Kyle. His hands flew off of you so fast it startled you and Kyle was taking two large steps back.
You gave John a mean look for yelling at Kyle for what you thought was normal friendliness. He stormed right past you as if he didn’t know you and barreled into the double doors, throwing both open and nearly taking a new recruit out.
“I should-“ you pointed after John and Kyle only shook his head in understanding.
“The foods in John’s office if you wanna give him a minute to cool off.” With an awkward smile you thought you should apologize for John’s behavior but didn’t.
“Best make it ten.” Kyle joked.
John was gone by the time you were walking through the double doors. You weren’t expecting him to storm off and leave you in the dust. With a pitiful sigh you started to make your way back to where you thought John’s office was. The thing was you kept walking and walking but must have gotten turned around at some point. You tried looking around but nothing was clearly labeled and no sighs pointed you in the right direction.
“You lost, miss?” Turning you saw a gentleman your own age.
Internally you sighed in relief that finally you weren’t dealing with shit head twenty year olds. He stood about six feet and shared a very similar physique to your husband, he was also dress similarly only he was in navy. The man was clean shaven and seemed much more approachable than John. He had neatly trimmed black hair that was going grey by the temples and had thick eyebrows. His skin was ivory which made his hazel eyes seem cat like, he had thin lips, pearly white teeth, and a charming smile.
“Yeah, I’m looking for Price’s office.” You gave the man a thankful smile for having stopped to help or you would still be wandering around these empty hallways.
“What does a woman like you want with that tyrant.” The joke had you awkwardly laughing. John being called a tyrant use to make you prickle up in his defense but after seeing how quick he was to anger here you weren’t sure people were wrong.
“Just need to grab something real quick.” You deflected. After what happened with Jj you didn’t want anyone else knowing you were the wife of Captain Price, you’d accidentally stirred up enough trouble and John didn’t take teasing well.
“Well come with me. I’m Captain Harris. It’s nice to see a new face around here.” The charm this guy was laying on was thick and you weren’t sure if he was a bit of a flirt or overly friendly.
“Thanks, I’m Y/N.” You decided to go with your first name as the shared last name gave you away too quickly; you’d learned your lesson.
“Nice to meet you. You work here?” Now you were starting to feel like John with your hatred of small talk in this moment. Your mind was racing with the thought of your son having just been in a fist fight and you were somewhat ticked off John left you to find your own way back.
“Uh-no. I’m an archeologist, well turned museum curator.” You gave a warm smile not realizing how charming you naturally came off to those around you.
Harris couldn’t remember the last time he’d found himself in a conversation with a woman as pretty as you so he was enjoying this immensely. It also seemed like you were enjoy yourself too. Your general politeness giving Harris the wrong impression. What you saw as basic friendliness was often misconstrued as warmth and flirting here in the UK.
“Beautiful and smart. Quite the package.” The comment instantly had you on edge and your response was to laugh uncomfortably.
Although Captain Harris didn’t see it as you being uncomfortable, he read it as you flirting back. What woman laughs at a man’s jokes and doesn’t find them interesting; at least that was Captains Harris’ train of thought. You also didn’t combat the compliment which must have meant you enjoyed it. He was blind to your awkwardness and saw it a you playing coy.
“I think I know where I am. I can take it from here.” Without looking at the man who you deemed as nice a moment ago and now weren’t a fan of, you turned down the hallway you were walking by. You had no clue if John’s office was that way but you’d figure it out.
“Wait, that’s the wrong way love.” You froze in your tracks as you felt a large unfamiliar hand on your lower back, dangerously close to your ass and the other was lightly gripping your elbow.
Looking up at Captain Harris, his eyes were soft and smile charming, he really thought you found him attractive for some odd reason. His leaned down just a bit so you could hear him better and put himself uncomfortably close to you. Guiding you back toward the direction of John’s office he made his final mistake.
“This way.” Nodding with his head in the proper direction he playfully gave your bottom a tiny little pat, you barely felt it.
If the circumstances were different and the woman he was flirting with was flirting back it wouldn’t have been taken horribly. But that wasn’t the case. You weren’t flirting and he was not your husband. That was enough for you to go to push him off you but he was gone before you could.
Time slowed as you watch this man get pulled by the back of his collar, picked up, and sumo slammed into the floor, hard. The guttural choked gasp that forced its way out of Captain Harris’ lungs as he connected with the floor sounded pained. You wouldn’t be able to forget the sound of a 200lb man hitting the tiled floor with that kind of force.
John was standing over the man wild eyed and radiating a murderous rage. Snatching Harris who was heaving for breath by the collar of his shirt you watched as John wound back and smacked the absolute daylights out of the man. The force behind the strike rang through the hallways and from how loud the clap of skin on skin was you knew that was going to leave a welt across the man’s face.
“Price.” The name was wheezed out as Harris coughed and sputtered form having the wind knocked out of him.
Before you could step in and stop John he had let go of Harris’ collar, letting the man crumple into a heap on the floor. John was panting heavy from anger but was feeling significantly better. All the pent of rage he’d been holding in today left his body as soon as his open hand connected with this man’s face.
“That’s my wife. Touch her again and I swear to god Harris I’ll make you regret it.” John spoke calmly which didn’t fit the situation at all. You also thought that Harris was regretting it right now as he coughed and sounded like he was going to be sick.
You had dumbly been standing there, frozen in place as you watched everything unfold. Normally you’d be hollering and screaming for John to stop but for some odd reason it didn’t piss you off that he just bitch slapped another grown man. It kind of turned you on seeing him defend you.
“C’mon, it’s time for you to go home.” Leaving the man who was now dry heaving on the floor John lightly grabbed your elbow and started to lead you down the hall. You passed by a few others who John stopped and told them to check on Harris because he had tripped. Clearly John wasn’t going to admit to attacking the man.
You were in utter shock and honestly so was John. He really thought you were going to lose your mind after he realized what he had done. When he saw you and Harris he thought nothing of it, just cute you asking for directions because John left you behind. But then he saw the little ass slap and everything went black. Before he registered or knew it John had smashed his peer into the floor and smacked him with all his strength. In his defense he used his left hand as he didn’t want to knock the guy out.
John was feeling antsy by the time he shuffled you into his office. Quiet was not a word he’d use to describe you, and you had been silent the entire walk here. After shutting his office door John braced himself for your inevitable freak out. You had made it clear violence was never the answer and John had done a good job of respecting that in your marriage; save the time two guys knocked the side view mirror off his car and called you a bitch.
Now for some reason John getting into a fight was the biggest turn on. Maybe it was because he didn’t go over overkill? Or that it had been such a horrible day and you felt you needed defending? Either way you were ready to ride him until your legs gave out.
John turned slowly to look at you and in the matter of a second you were on him. Arms flung around his neck and mouth attacking his. It caught John off guard to be shoved against his office door with you all over him, but he wasn’t complaining. He was stunned for a moment but was soon kissing you back. The adrenaline from moments ago was still coursing through his veins and must be the same for you.
John and you were making out sloppy and dirty. His rough hands were grasping and squeezing any part of you he could reach. As your tongues danced together you found yourself unfastening his belt and struggling with the button of his trousers. John rough hands settled on the back of your thighs after grabbing your ass with a tight grip. Picking you up with ease you wrapped your legs around your husbands v-shaped waist letting out a muffled moan against his lips as you ground your hips forward into his toned abdomen. John brought you to his desk, stumbling over himself, then the chair that sat in front of it, and ungracefully sitting you there. You knocked into his monitor and sent his trey of files spilling onto the floor.
“Cap?” A knock sounded on the door and as quickly as you two connected John was detaching himself. He frantically fastened his belt as you hopped off his desk and tidy yourself. You were panting lightly and picking up the files off the floor to hide what you two had just been interrupted doing.
“What?” Like every time today John barked out for whoever dared bother him. He was quietly telling you to stop frantically cleaning but you didn’t listen.
Opening the door slowly Gaz stepped in with an apprehensive look. His eyes fell to you squatted on the ground picking up files, then the monitor on John’s desk that was now crooked, and then to his Captain who was pretending not to notice anything.
“Hey! I have your food right here Kyle.” Standing you plopped John’s files onto his desk and grabbed the extra container of food. You stopped for a moment, realizing half the pie you brought was gone.
“That fucker.” You hissed handing Gaz the container. Gaz was staring at you trying to pretend like he didn’t know what you two had just been up to. He knew if he looked at John he’d be getting a death stare in return.
“Who?” John asked coming off annoyed and finally looking at you.
“Simon. First he steals Kyle’s food and now half my pies missing.” Your agitation didn’t register to John so he brushed the comment off. He was trying to play it cool although Kyle was certain you two would be going at it if he hadn’t interrupted you by accident. It was funny to him that Captain Price was still just a man at the end of the day; a perverted man who was doing what most other men here wished for.
“Thanks Indy.” With a kind smile Kyle turned his attention to John who looked angry. You knew it was because this was the second time you two had been interrupted today.
“Did you assault Captain Harris?” The question had both you and John straightening up.
“Why?” John immediately sounded defensive and you could see in his eyes he was pretending to not be worried.
“Well he just told some of the higher ups you slammed him into the floor and slapped him. I was pulled aside and questioned about your character. Naturally I said you would never, that isn’t like you. But between us, I don’t think Harris is lying; the man’s got a welt in the shape of a hand print across his face.” Gaz spoke matter of factly but you could see the twinkle of concern and amusement in his eyes.
“Fuck.” John cursed and turned his gaze down to his feet.
“Can see the imprint of your bloody ring. You use your left hoping it wouldn’t leave a mark?” To anyone else it might have sounded like Gaz was cracking a joke but you and John knew he was seriously asking.
“Yeah.” John mumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.
“May I ask why, sir?” John waved his hand dismissively and Gaz nodded then looked to you.
“He patted my bum.” You blurted out as soon as you made eye contact.
“Oh, so he had it coming. Good for you, Cap.” Gaz clapped a hand on John’s broad shoulder and thanked you again for the food before leaving.
“I don’t think I should visit again.” You said plainly.
“Might be best.”

It had been a few days since you stopped by base to drop off lunch for your husband and son. You had read Jj the riot act for getting into a fight but it went in one ear and out the other. He nodded along not actually listening and when you asked John for back up he too wasn’t listening.
Now Jj found himself at his first disciplinary hearing. He’d done so well at staying out of trouble and having never crossed any lines that would mean for him to be punished seriously. It was mainly due to the fact when he first joined the military his father’s reputation for being a ruler breaker came to light. Jj learned that his father had a knack for bending the rules and making decision that went against higher ups orders but ultimately being the right call. It made Jj resentful in a way because he was assumed to be short tempered and righteous like John.
Being here felt like he had let himself down. Part of him was so upset with himself while the other knew Wakefield got exactly what he deserved. The last thing said was some crude comment about your tits of all things and Jj lost it. He went absolutely feral and beat the snot out of the asshole while Ghost watched from a distance. Ghost even gave some pointers and call outs to Jj to make things hurt more as he landed blow after blow.
“I see you’re following in your father’s footsteps.” The Court Martial’s voice snapped Jj out of his runaway thoughts.
“Sorry, sir?” He asked confused why his father was being brought up.
“If you had done any more harm to Private Wakefield we’d be throwing the book at you. But we’ve taken in to account the circumstances, a few stepped forward on your behalf, and this is your first offense. For now it’s a two weeks wages forfeited and probation.” The Court Martial leaned forward over his desk and gave Jj a stern look.
“Yes, sir.” Jj answered back in his normal militant voice.
“No more fighting. Although you Price’s seem to have a knack for it.” The last bit was mumbled but Jj had just caught it. It made him frustrated to always be compared to his father no matter how hard he tried to separate himself from John.
“Yes, sir.” Through gritted teeth Jj tried to hide his frustrated feelings.
“Get out of here.” With a wave of his hand the Court Martial sent Jj on his way. He didn’t seem to be too bothered by the situation but Jj was.
Jj didn’t wait around, he made his way to the door as soon as he could. His mind was racing and he was contemplating if he should confront his father. Ask the man to pull his shit together with the rule breaking so Jj would stop getting compared to him negatively. It only took a moment to decide against it, Jj had just gotten in trouble he’d look like a hypocrite.
Walking into the hallway his eyebrows shot up to his hairline. Standing there waiting was none other than his father, Captain John Price. He didn’t mean to but Jj audibly groaned seeing his old man.
“You here to ream me for the disciplinary hearing?” Jj asked hating that he didn’t just get a punishment from the higher ups but would also get an ear full from his father. Not that John had a leg to stand on and Jj would absolutely be throwing that in his face as soon as they were off base.
“No. My disciplinary hearings next.” It was said matter of factly, like John had been outside these doors many times before. The admission had Jj perking up, John wasn’t here to yell at him.
“What!?” Jj was taken aback but not truly surprised that his dad had done something to wind up here. Now it was just a matter of what.
“Yeah, wait outside for me and I’ll drive us home. Your mums cooking up a feast again.” Barely paying attention John pulled out his phone and shot you a text that Jj would be coming for dinner.
“What’d you do?” Stepping forward Jj asked so if anyone passed by they wouldn’t be able to hear.
“Fighting.” John spoke simply, slipping his phone back in his pocket.
“Who!?” Jj felt vindicated hearing this. He thought his dad had gotten caught in a lie or ignored orders. He was not expecting for them both to be here for the same reason.
“Harris.” John said plainly.
A disciplinary hearing wasn’t the worst thing, John usually got out of the consequences once he explained his side. What was frustrating was his son was here to witness him going in to see the Court Martial. John knew they’d planned it this way to maximize the embarrassment and have him be accountable by running into his son. Show him that his proclivity to breaking the rules was being passed on.
“You’re the one who smacked him so hard he’s got a hand print across his face!? Dad you can see the outline of your ring!” Jj was floored absolutely enthralled learning that the man he reported to, Captain Harris, had been bitch slapped by Jj’s own father. No wonder he had been giving Jj extra duties and making his life harder than usual. It wasn’t for his own fighting it was because he was humiliated by John and Jj was the closest person he could take out his frustration on.
“I only hit him once. Harris is a fuckin’ cry baby, always has been. Fucker deserved it, just like Wakefield deserves the broken nose.” John spoke indignantly and truly meant what he said. No one was allowed to mess with his wife and John was proud Jj kicked Wakefields ass so he didn’t have to do it.
“Captain Harris fucked around with mum?” Jj asked realizing the only thing that would ever get his father to actually attack a fellow soldier was you.
“Yep.” John hummed.
Looking to his left John saw lieutenant Simon Riley stalking down the hall. He nodded acknowledging both men and then took a seat right outside the door Jj had come from.
“What are you doing here?” John asked. Normally he was informed if one of his men were having a disciplinary hearing.
“Getting a smack for not breaking up this idiot and Wakefield.” Simon nodded to Jj.
“She’s unintentionally gotten us all into trouble.” John’s head dropped as he reminded himself how lucky of a man he was to call you his. None of this was your fault but like always you brought trouble with you. You just couldn’t help it.
“I don’t know. Saturday was good fun. She should stop by more!” Ghost chuckled darkly.

cw!: praise, size kink, creampie, breeding kink, bulge, simon’s a nasty dog (and i tried to warn ya)
—————
simon never fails to remind you how much bigger he is than you.
you’re short? no problem, all those missing inches go to simon. oh wait you’re tall? whatever, he still towers over you.
are you chubby by society’s standards? just means there’s more for him to love. skinny? that’s okay too, he’s always down to eat whatever you can’t finish.
no matter what size or shape you are, it’s a guarantee that simon is still bigger than you. and he always manages to remind you of that in the bedroom.
his large hands around your waist, pounding into you with his thick cock. he obsesses over the bulge in your cute tummy from his size, practically drooling over the fact that he can’t even fit inside you’re pretty pussy all the way.
whether he’s fucking you doggy style or in a mating press, he will always tower over you. he makes sure you’re cum is on his fingers and his tongue alone before he shoves his meaty dick inside you; this man has the libido and stamina of a god.
“g’nna fuck this p’ssy so good, love. fill ya’ up to the brim,” he moans, his thrusts growing more erratic as he feels that familiar heat in his stomach.
you’re coming right along with him, seeing stars while he peppers kisses in your neck. “such a good girl f’r me, g’nna make the best mama.”

Me, You, and Baby, Too
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You and Joel have always wanted kids, but didn't want to rush into having them until you both were ready. After a surprise at his job, Joel realizes there's nothing more he wants to do than put a baby in you as soon as he gets home.
Pairing: Husband!Joel Miller x Wife!Reader (no use of y/n)
Word Count: 4.1K
Warnings: SMUT (18+), unprotected p in v sex (it's baby making time, so hush), oral (f receiving), vaginal fingering, big ole fat and nasty breeding kink (.... don't look at me it's bad), creampie, cum play, talks of starting a family, calling Joel "Daddy" (in the sense you want to have his babies, but also 🤷🏼‍♀️), Sweet soft Joel who loves his wife and would give her the universe if he could, honestly with just the way Joel is talking about makin' babies, I think I'm pregnant
A/N: It's that time of the month where Madeline ovulates and writes feral breeding kink smut!!! 🤪 Okay I am so nervous to post this because I have never written for Joel before and I'm worried it's trash with a capital T, but after re-watching TLOU, I need 2003 Joel Miller carnally, so here we are. This is also inspired by @mrsmando post about 2003 Joel Miller constantly keeping you barefoot and pregnant because it made me unwell, and no lies were told. (thanks for ruining my life mimi) 🤠 ANYWHO I hope you guys like it, and if not, I'll shut up and go back to writing Javi and Frankie and pretend like this didn't happen
There were a lot of stereotypical answers that you expected from your husband when you asked him how his day at work had been:
“Good.”
“Fine.”
“Long.”
“My knees are killin’ me.”
“Tommy did somethin’ fuckin’ stupid again.”
“Better now that I’m home with you.”
So when Joel arrived home today after a new job he had started with Tommy on a bathroom renovation, there were few things that could have prepared you for the response your husband had when you asked him how his day had gone.
“Hey, honey. How was your day today?” You smiled, watching Joel stroll in through your front door, kicking off his work boots at the entryway, beginning to put away his things before strolling into the kitchen to greet you.
“Pretty good." He paused, leaning in for a quick kiss before making his way over to the closet before speaking again. "Saw a real cute baby today.”
You could practically feel your heart skip a beat as you looked up from the vegetables you had been cutting up for dinner, tightening the grip you had around your knife to make sure you didn’t drop it in shock.
Out of all the things for Joel to bring up on the first day at a new job, a cute baby had been at the top of the list.
Not floor plans.
Not timelines for the project.
Not something stupid that Tommy did.
Not even what he had done today on the job.
The top news that Joel Miller had to report back to you about his day was the sighting of a cute baby.
You and Joel had always agreed that you’d wanted kids, and your husband had been not only adamant, but genuinely excited at the prospect of becoming a dad. But only being a little less than a year into your marriage, the two of you had decided you didn’t want to rush into anything, and when the time felt right, you’d both know it.
But one by one, as your friends began to announce their pregnancies, baby showers, and pictures of their adorable newborns, you couldn’t help but deny the baby fever starting to burn hotter and hotter inside you with every passing day.
You’d brought it up in passing a few times with Joel, talking about your friends who had kids, or a cute mom and her children you saw walking around in your neighborhood, and while he had always had a positive response to what you had to say, you just had a feeling that now just wasn’t the time for the two of you yet, and that was okay.
But here you were, standing in your kitchen, jaw practically scraping the ground at the notion that your husband had dropped just about the least subtle hint ever that babies weren’t just at the forefront of your mind- they were on his, too.
“Awh, really?” You asked, shaking your head to snap out of your shocked state, returning back to dice the onion you had been working on before Joel could turn around to see you after finishing hanging up his things in the closet, trying to subtly coax more information out of him.
“Yeah.” He smiled, joining you in the kitchen, wrapping an arm around your waist to pull you closer to his chest for a soft kiss to greet you, “The family we’re startin’ the bathroom reno for just moved in. Had their first baby a few months ago and just hadn’t had time to work on fixin’ things.”
“So they’re already putting the baby to work with you and Tommy?” You teased, raising an eyebrow at Joel playfully, giving him a quick peck back on the lips as he laughed at your sass.
“Cheap labor.” Joel shrugged back, playing into the joke, “Nah, she woke up from her nap while Tommy and I were runnin’ through some measurements so her mom brought her out for the last lil bit we were there. She was damn cute, too. Just smilin’ and laughin’ at everything.”
You were glad Joel’s arm was still wrapped around your hip, because you were convinced if it wasn’t, you were about to melt to the floor into a puddle, watching how soft and sweet Joel was talking about a cute, smiling baby.
“Well a cute baby definitely sounds like a very nice perk of being on the job.” You smirked, trying to play it cool enough to keep your heart from bursting out of your chest.
“Yeah.” Joel replied softly, quietly pausing for a moment, watching the gears turning in his brain, carefully calculating his words before he spoke.
“You okay?” You asked, looking up at Joel, knowing your husband well enough that he had something on his mind he was trying to work up the confidence to spit out.
Joel looked back down at you, big brown eyes locking with yours as his grip around your waist tightened ever so slightly, tongue swiping against his plush bottom lip as he took a long, deep breath in and slow exhale out.
“Honey, what is it?” You asked again, now slightly concerned with how nervous your husband looked in his stoic silence, reaching up to gently wrap your fingers around his arm, thumb stroking his skin.
“I want one.”
You froze, worried that your heart may have actually stopped as you looked at Joel, making sure that you had really just heard what he had said.
“W-what?”
“I want one. A baby. I- I know it’s been a while since we’ve talked about it, but I’ve been thinkin’ about it a lot, and seein’ that baby today, it just- shit, I just couldn’t stop picturin’ what it would be like to have one of our own I guess.”
If you weren’t a puddle before, you sure as fuck were now.
An overwhelming sensation of nerves and excitement began thrumming through your veins, your heart beat pounding in your ears as your face grew warm and a smile started to spread between your cheeks. You were almost certain you had to be dreaming, asking again to make sure that someone needed to come and wake you up and send you back to reality.
“Joel… Really?”
“Yeah, really. Nothin’ I want more. I know I ain’t gonna even be close to the perfect dad, but I know you’ll be sucha good mom, and I’ll be damned if I don’t want some tiny lil versions of us runnin’ around. Couldn’t think of anything that would make me happier than that. Like I said, I know that we ain’t talked about in a while, and if ya aren’t ready yet that’s okay but I-”
Before Joel could even finish the rest of his thought, you were pressing up to plant your lips to his with passionate intensity, hands roaming up his chest before cupping his jaw and the scratchy stubble of his cheeks while your stomach flipped with arousal and want, already feeling a damp patch beginning to pool in the cotton of your underwear.
You pulled away, kisses traveling along his jawline and up his neck until you were nipping at his ear, the hot breath of your words whispering against his skin.
“You wanna make a baby, Joel Miller?”
“Fuck-” Joel groaned, reaching his other arm around you grab at your ass, pulling you in tight enough to feel the bulge beginning to grow under the denim of his worn jeans, pressing against your thigh.
“‘Cause there’s nothing that I want more than to make you a daddy.” You smirked, looking up to watch Joel’s eyes darken with lust, jaw going slack as a low groan rumbled in his chest, his once half hard cock now fully erect and straining against his zipper, trying to keep from giggling watching your husband try to string together any sort of thoughts to speak.
“Jesus fuckin’ Christ-” He moaned, running his hand over his face to try and regain his composure to keep from busting right then and there. “You- fuck, you sure, baby?”
“Mhmmmm. Don’t think I’ve ever been so sure of anything in my whole life. So sure,” you paused, softly pressing your lips to his between words, “that I think we should go make one right now.”
Your adamant confirmation was all it took to set off something almost animalistic in Joel, crashing his lips back into yours in a messy clash of tongues and teeth, gripping his hands under your thighs to hoist you up around his hips and lock your legs behind the small of his back. Without ever letting your mouths part, Joel was already halfway to the bedroom before you had even realized it, playfully giggling at how frantically he was carrying you down the hallway, your bodies bumping against the walls and door frames, too focused on desperate and needy kisses for any sort of spatial awareness.
Finally reaching your bed, Joel carefully laid you down, letting your back fall into the mattress, leaving your lower half to hang off the edge before your husband was on his knees, settling himself between your parted thighs.
You sat up on your elbows, watching as Joel tightened his grip around the meat of your legs, peppering kisses up the inside of each across your soft skin before coming face to face with your core, planting another soft kiss there before letting his fingers ghost over your heat, still covered by your jeans.
He rapidly worked at the button of your pants, shuffling them down off your hips to reveal your underwear, now absolutely soaked with arousal from the prospect alone of Joel knocking you up and carrying his baby.
“Jesus Christ, baby girl, look at ‘cha.” Joel tutted, admiring how the cotton of your underwear clung to the outline of your cunt, sticking to the puffy and swollen lips of your pussy from how wet you were. “Haven’t even touched ya yet. This all for me, darlin’?”
Just as you began to try and answer, Joel took one of his fingers, barely dragging it over the damp fabric before beginning to rub soft circles over your covered clit, eliciting a pathetic whimper from you at the electric sensation.
“F-fuck- It’s all for you, b-baby.” You stammered, moaning even louder as a second finger joined the first, pressing more pressure into you sensitive nub as he nudged each of your legs to drape over his shoulders, his free hand tugging at the waistband of your underwear, making you instinctually lift your hips as he yanked them off your legs to crumple in a messy pile with your pants.
“Prettiest fuckin’ pussy I’ve ever seen.” Joel mewled, running his fingers up and down through the weeping seams of your folds, toying with your entrance while draping his arm across your hips to hold your squirming lower half in place. “Wants me to fuck her full of me and fill her up so bad, huh?”
“P-please, Joel. Want you to fill me up so badly.” You whimpered, staring down at your husband, a devilish grin spread across his face, licking his lips as his eyes darted back and forth between your blissed out face and the glistening mess between your thighs.
“I will sweetheart, promise. Gotta taste you first though, baby. Gotta make sure you’re nice n’ready for me. ‘Cause once we start, I ain’t lettin’ you outta this bed ‘till I knock you up.”
With that, Joel was diving between your legs, lapping you up in long and firm strokes, pressing against your clit in the way he knew would make you fall apart under his tongue. While he would have loved to have spend hours just like this, making you writhe under his touch, drinking up your arousal like a wandering man parched in the heat of the desert, Joel had one thing on his mind, and one thing only-
To get you pregnant.
Joel began to intensify the pace of his tongue, swirling and sucking around your clit as two of his thick fingers pushed into your heat, sliding in and out of your entrance with ease from how wet and worked up you were. Curling his fingers ever so slightly, you cried out as Joel bumped against your g-spot, pushing against the soft, spongy spot as his tongue worked its magic.
You could feel the arousal shooting through your veins, heat beginning to bloom in your stomach as Joel fucked you with his fingers and mouth, shooting your hand down to grab fistfulls of his thick, brown hair to brace yourself for your impending orgasm.
“J-Joel, oh fuck- Fuck, baby, I’m c-close. Don’t stop, please, don’t stop.” You whined, pussy beginning to flutter around Joel’s fingers, the tightening only egging him on further to get you to cross the finish line.
With just a little more pressure of his tongue, Joel could feel your cunt clamping down around his digits, watching the pleasure shoot through your body as you came, your orgasm crashing through you like a tsunami.
As you reached your high, Joel drank up your arousal, not faltering in his pace, too focused on your pretty cries of his name being chanted like a prayer to do anything but keep going and making you feel good.
Truth be told, Joel had gotten so lost between your thighs, the only thing stopping him was the tensing feeling between his, so pussy drunk and determined to fuck you full of him that he was worried he was about to cum too if he didn’t stop.
Pulling off you, Joel frantically stood up, racing to undo his belt and jeans, yanking them down his legs in tandem with his boxers as his cock slapped against his stomach, precum already pearling from his tip, desperate to be inside of you. His shirt quickly followed his pants, ripping it over his head as his broad body caged yours under him, helping you to scoot back on the bed until your head hit the pillows, trailing kisses up and down your body the whole way.
As Joel kissed and nipped at your skin, you quickly shuffled off your top and bra, leaving you bare beneath him, moaning as his tongue flicked against each of your newly exposed pebbled nipples, grouping your breast and kneading the soft flesh in his palms.
Even though you had just came, you could already feel your cunt starting to clench around nothing, desperate to feel Joel inside of you, to stretch you out with his thick cock and fuck you until you couldn’t think straight. But with the way your chest was heaving and breath shaking from your orgasm, you could barely muster out the words you wanted.
“J-Joel, p-please, baby. P-please.”
You snaked your hand between your bodies to reach for Joel’s cock, wrapping your fingers around his length and swiping your thumb over his leaking tip, a low groan rumbling in his chest as you stroked him, trying to guide him to slide between your legs and ease your ache.
Lowering his hips, you moved your hand and let his replace it, Joel pumping himself a few times before guiding his tip between your folds, collecting your slick to coat his cock, using every last ounce of self-control he had as his eyes locked with yours, wanting to see your face as he pushed inside you.
“Please, what, darlin’?” Joel teased, knowing damn well what you were begging for.
“Need to feel you, Joel. Need you to put a baby in me.” You moaned, reaching up to grab his face, your palm rubbing against his stubble as your fingers tugged on the curls at the nape of his neck.
With one more pump, Joel lined himself up with your entrance, sliding into your heat, the sweet stretch and sting of his length making the breath hitch in the back of your throat, filling you up inch by inch until he bottomed out inside you with his tip just kissing your cervix.
Joel couldn’t help but smirk as he watched your mouth fall open, parted lips letting a soft moan escape while your eyes nearly rolled to the back of your head at the newfound sensation, giving you another moment to adjust before he began to slowly roll his hips, dragging his cock in and out of your core.
“Christ, baby girl, so wet and tight. Like this pussy was made just for me. Made for me to fuck ya full of me until it’s got no choice but to fuckin’ take.” Joel groaned, reaching down to grab your thighs, pinning your knees to your chest, stretching you open to take Joel even deeper, practically feeling him in your stomach with the position he had you in.
“Joel, oh my god- fuck, you feel so good. Fuck, baby. Want you to fill me up so bad.” You whimpered, Joel now beginning to pick up his pace as he thrust in and out of you, continually punching in that perfect spot over and over again, leaving your brain bordering on short circuiting.
Joel’s fingertips dug deeper into the flesh of your thighs, pushing your legs down just far enough to be chest to chest with you, the sweat dampened curls of his forehead brushing against yours as your mouths met in an electric kiss, catching each other’s muffled moans with each snap of Joel’s hips.
“Yeah, sweetheart? Want me to fill you up? Fuck a baby into you? Let everyone see what a pretty momma you are, carryin’ our kid?” Joel grunted, picturing you, months from now, belly round and tits swollen, pregnant with your baby, wondering how many you’d let him give you, because fuck, he’d keep knocking you up until he had nothing left to give.
Each push and pull of your bodies against each other felt more and more electric, an undeniable coil tightening in your stomach with the way Joel was pounding into you and the hairs at the base of his cock were brushing against your clit, already feeling yourself beginning to teeter on the brink of pleasure once again.
“Yes, fuck, fuck- yes, Joel. I wanna have your baby. Want you to knock me up so I can make you a daddy. Please, baby, please.” You were all but sobbing at this point, your fingers digging into the tan and sweat sheened skin of Joel’s broad shoulders, overwhelmed by the lewd combinations of Joel’s heavy pants in your ear and wet squelching of your pussy as his pelvis flushed against yours repeatedly.
Joel could feel you beginning to tighten around him, pussy sucking him in with its warmth and wetness, ready to clamp around his cock and milk him for all he was worth.
“That’s it, darlin’, I know you’re close. Gotta cum for me first though, baby girl. Gotta feel ya soak me before I stuff ya so full of me, I swear t’god, you’ll be drippin’ outta me for days. So fuckin’ full that I’ll get you pregnant right now.” Joel groaned through gritted teeth, leaning back to reach and grab your leg, wrapping it around the small of his back before you lifted your other to join it, locking your ankles to keep him as close to you as possible.
“Joel, oh my god, fuck baby, fuck, I’m gonna- fuckfuckfuck-”
Suddenly, your orgasm was rushing through every inch of you, crying out as the pleasure hit you like a freight train, choking Joel’s cock with your pussy, unable to do anything but relish in the white hot bliss that had you nearly floating out of your own body.
While Joel would have kept fucking you until the sun went down, the truth was he was relieved to feel you cum, spending every second since your agreement in the kitchen trying to keep from finishing until he was balls deep inside you and you were soaking his cock as you reached your high. The realization that now was his chance to make good on his promise, to fill you up and fuck a baby into you, ignited something primal, feral, in him, pounding into you at a punishing pace as he could feel himself teetering on the brink of collapse right with you.
“That’s my girl. That’s it, cum all over my cock, baby. Shit, I’m gonna cum too, fuck- gonna fill this tight lil pussy up so goddamn much, give you a baby, make you a momma, oh fuck!”
With one final stutter of his hips, Joel let out a strangled moan, flushing his hips against yours as he milked himself of every last drop, painting your warm, wet walls with hot ropes of his spend, making sure nothing went to waste.
He couldn’t help but but press even further into you, plugging you with his length and fucking his cum as deep as he could into your cunt to make sure it took, collapsing on top of you with his cock still buried in your heat, letting your chests heave together in sync as you both caught your breath.
Joel was convinced he had never cum so much in his entire life, afraid that if he pulled out, that somehow he’d have more left to give, and sure as fuck wasn’t going to risk letting anything coming out of him end up not inside of you.
Well, not until your muffled grunt rumbled beneath him.
“Joel, baby, I love you but you’re kinda squishing me.” You huffed, giggling to yourself as you watched your husband come-to in real time out of his post-orgasmic state, immediately offering a half muttered apology as he rolled off you, sitting back on his knees to admire the shiny and slick mess between your legs.
“Fuck me…” Joel murmured to himself, eyes wide as he stared at your pussy- wet, puffy and soaking with your arousal, bringing his fingers to your spent hole as he watched a dribble of his cum begin to leak out. Gently scooping it up, he collected everything he could, pressing it back into your cunt before pulling his hand out. Crawling up the bed to lay next to you, Joel wrapped you up in his arms as the little spoon, peppering ticklish kisses over your back and shoulders, making you burst into laughter.
“Joel, stop! That tickles!” You squealed, squirming in his grasp, trying to defend yourself from his unrelenting attack of soft, plush lips and scratchy beard dancing across your skin.
“Don’t laugh so damn hard, or all my hard work’s ‘bout to come out!” Joel teased, giving you a playful nudge, pulling you in even closer.
“Stop making me laugh, then! Plus, I think you came enough to put quadruplets inside of me, so I think we’ll be okay.” You snorted, Joel joining in on the laughter.
“Baby, I don’t think I’ve ever came that hard in my whole goddamn life.” Joel sighed, shrugging as you rolled your head up to look at him and that stupid goofy grin he got whenever he couldn’t contain his excitement about something. “God, I love you.”
“I love you too, Joel.”
The two of you sat in a comfortable silence for a moment, Joel slowly bringing his arm to rest across your stomach, thumb slowly tracing careful circles on your skin.
“You’re gonna make such a good mom. I’m the luckiest man alive that you wanna have a family with me. Still not really sure what I ever did to deserve it.”
“Joel! You’re gonna make me cry! And this is before pregnancy hormones, ya jerk.” You tried to laugh, choking back the tears welling in your eyes.
“Yeah, what a jerk, your husband tellin’ you how much he loves you.” He teased back, planting a long kiss on your temple, before pressing another one to your lips. Another wave of soft silence followed, watching Joel’s face scrunch in a calculated concentration. “How big of a crib you think I gotta make? I don’t know ‘bout a rockin’ chair, but a crib can’t be that hard. I gotta measure the guest room tomorrow.”
“Honey, I don’t even know if I’m pregnant yet, you don’t need to have a crib built tomorrow.” You teased, laughing at Joel, despite the fact his mind was already thinking about a baby room and accessories had you melting.
“Sweetheart, what did I say earlier? I ain’t lettin’ you outta this bed ‘till we know there’s a baby in there.” He smirked, nodding at his hand still splayed across your stomach, “So you better get comfortable, ‘cause if it’s up to me, there ain’t a chance in hell we’re gettin’ anything but a positive pregnancy test at the end of this month, and we'll sure need that crib nine months from now. Never hurts to get a head start."
