The word gets choked out in a shaky whisper as Cuphead finds himself on his knees begging. The scene eerily similar to the one ten years ago, the very one that made him into the pathetic excuse of a man he is today.

“Please, pleasepleaseplease-please.” His hands wrap around the demon’s body as he buries his face in his chest making the next words come out muffled. “Don’t leave me”

Bendy stiffened at the words, his arms awkwardly twitching beside him unsure of whether or not to touch the other.

“Accept me. Accept my cussed-up version of love”

Tears begin to pour from Cuphead’s eyes and soak into Bendy’s sweater, the shorter hesitates only for a moment before his arms wrap around him in a comforting manner.

“Shh, I-it’s alright- you’re okay.” For a moment Bendy is unsure of whether or not his comforting him or himself. “Everything will be okay. I’ll find a way to-”

To what? Free him? Accept him? Love him?

Without warning Cuphead destroyed the whole view he had of him and their relationship while making question his love for him.

He knows he holds a lot of love for him, But what kind? Familial? Platonic? Romantic? In what way does he love him? And is it enough?

“-love me?” Bendy snaps back as the words reach his head. “What?” Cuphead removes his fave from his chest and repeats himself, “do you love me?” He asks, his voice desperate as he clings to him tighter.

Yes. The answer is yes but can he say that? In what way does he want Bendy to love him?

“Yes… yes, I do.” Bendy admits and instantly regrets opening his mouth because Cuphead looks up at him like he’s an out-worldly being—like an all-forgiving god blessing his very existence.

Luckily he didn’t have to stare at that expression long as his grip on him hardness so much that it has his legs buckled under him and left him sitting on his lap.

“Thank you.” The taller choked out pushing their bodies impossibly close. Bendy just sighed as he ran his hand through Cuphead’s hair in a weak attempt at comfort.

Truly. What mess this is.
