When Lestat meets Akasha, he finds her seated motionless on a throne beside Enkil, in a state of apparent petrification. Her skin is described as white, hard, and opaque—like marble, yet with a pearly glow. Despite her stillness, her face holds a serene expression, with dark, moist eyes that seem to watch the world with awareness.

She appears as a young woman of extraordinary beauty—almost too lovely to be truly majestic, for her grace surpasses any deeper sense of mystery.

Lestat is deeply moved by her presence and, at Marius’s urging, speaks to her and kisses her. Later, while playing the violin for her, he succeeds in awakening her from her long slumber.

Akasha responds by approaching him, embracing him, and drinking his blood—while allowing him to drink hers.
