Hey! It's been a while since I posted any writing of my own, but I've been working on this GIGGS Borrower AU for a bit now! It's been slow getting back into writing, but I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! LMK what yall think!

They say that borrowers born in storms are bad omens, that those borrowers are prone to bad luck. Gem had never really believed that, though, only because she knew the unluckiest borrower, and he was born in clear skies. Skizz was never allowed to go borrowing. He could barely keep out of trouble in the walls, let alone hide from humans. Luckily, unlike your typical borrowers, Gem's family hated sharing their home and quickly chased off any humans that tried moving in. You may wonder how three little borrowers could scare over a dozen humans, but it turns out most humans are easy to scare. A few well placed pranks will usually send them packing, and the best part is, they've never been discovered. The humans always think it's a "ghost" driving them out of the house. Today, however, it wasn't a moving van that parked in their driveway. Skizz sat at the window, watching as two humans left the van with strange equipment in hand. He felt a sinking feeling when he noticed the logo on the side. A cartoonish cat face with words in a circle around it, Skizz couldn't read the words, but he knew humans often used cats for 'pest control'.

"Guys, we have a problem!" He shouted to the other two, climbing down from the windowsill. Impulse was quick to respond,

"What's the problem?" He barely finished his question as Skizz yanked him back towards their exit where Gem was sat,

"Humans incoming, their van had a cat on it. I think they might be exterminators!" Skizz's tone was unusually frantic, but Gem thought nothing of it as she followed Skizz's dragging towards their home in the walls.

"We need to get them out of here ASAP." Gem said, excitedly retrieving her note-pad from her room, almost dropping it when she realized Impulse and Skizz had immediately started packing. "What... are you doing?" The room went dead silent as Gem's words hung in the air.

"Gem... we can't fight exterminators like we did all those other humans," Impulse said gently.

"W-We *can* fight them," Gem stammered, frustration dripping in her words, "what are you talking about?!"  Impulse bit his lip nervously.

"Gem their tools are too powerful, exterminators aren't like regular humans they can-" he paused, his breath hitching as he glanced to Skizz for help

"He's right," Skizz said gently, "Gemmie, trust me we wouldn't abandon our home if we had a choice," Gem looked frantically between the other two borrowers

"But we do have a choice! They're just humans, we haven't found a human, we can't scare off, and I won't let us give up now!" Gem took a deep breath as she noticed her voice raising, but just as she was about to continue, the trio heard a voice near the wall, muffled slightly by the insulation.

"Scar, I'm picking something up on paradoctical," all three of them froze.

"What's a paradoctical?" Skizz wondered aloud.

"Dude, I think it just said paradoctical!" The human exclaimed, causing both Impulse and Gem to quickly slap their hands over Skizz's mouth. "Can you tell us your name, ghost?" Impulse hummed as an idea popped into his head

"Death!" He called out, and just as he suspected, the human yelped in fear.

"Scar!!!" The borrowers heard him yell as he scrambled back outside.

"Skizz, I think Gem's right, I think we can take these guys." Impulse smirks, "in fact, I think I have an idea already."
