what if these thoughts were my last 

close my eyes open up 

nothing changed from the past 

gas, use to cover rough times with a blunt 

nowadays a lot of people ask me 

why I'm so blunt 

but damn maybe its who I am 

when I was high I never paid my mind 

I just focused on me 

felling cool in the parties 

dipping blunts in the lean

recollecting on the time that passed with no role models

stood alone in the valley of death with mo problems

Before you fall in love with me, a few things you should know

I’m a little broken, a little less for show

There are scars beneath my surface that run deeper than you think

and poetry that fills my thoughts that send me on the brink

of insanity, inanity, romantic cynicism

I’m almost always quiet but I always always listen

Before you fall in love with me, think about it really well

‘Cause all the men I’ve been with, to you they’d surely tell

that I’m a tease and I’m a victim, but I’d give in anyway

a drama queen with issues but whose body’s worth the lay

I know I’m worth much more than this but frankly it’s been tough

when all the world keeps telling you you’re just not good enough

I see the way you look at me the way that those men do

— with lust and want and longing, but I see there’s something new

Your eyes, they linger longer; your hands, so strong and kind

Your words, they wrap around me, my balm for noisy nights

But I’m not one for keeping for nobody’s ever tried

to hold my hand so gently, to be here by my side.

Before you fall in love with me, please make sure that you’re true

for my broken self has fallen for the hope I see with you.
