I too was a fiction writer,

I too wrote her dreams.

When they grew into fantasies,

I too colored myself in, and

She too loved me as her hero.

But when she handed me her heart,

I tore it into countless fragments,

Transforming each into a chapter,

Blissfully bleeding

In the eternal ink of her grief.

Yes, I was a fiction writer,

But then I never wrote any dreams.
