7/7/2025 help get my kids in a better home

hello, i'm a disabled mother trying the best i can to support my family. right now we are trying to raise money to move out of our cockroach infested house. its had several problems over the years that our landlords simply aren't fixing. it's not worth staying after they jacked up our rent.

we're looking at income-based housing, but we will have lots of things we will need to outright replace while moving. i know this is a big ask i'm doing, but hopefully if the goal is met, i wont have to do this anymore. we just really need this fresh start.

( i'm taking commissions over on my art blog. the business would be much appreciated right now alongside donations. )

i've been having constant anxiety attacks over our situation, any help we can manage will really take a huge load off me. thank you in advance. please boost this, i'm desperate.

"African Violets"

Mixed media, 2021. Made in a trance while meditating on the performance piece NESTLE DEATH CURSE by @leyba It's on the death of my neighbor, when I was child, a shooting. One of so many at this point, I've lost track.

The transcription of the poem:

African Violets, violence, America, sky lights, drive-by, might die, smell them on the other side. African Violets, violence, American silence, white violence. African Violets, violence, I saw my neighbor die. I saw my neighbor die, they shot him on his front steps. They shot him in the back with a rifle. The cops said it was a prison gang hit and closed the case. I saw his face in the grass as the passing lights flash red blue red blue violet red blue violet violence red blue violet red blue red blue violet violence red blue violet red blue red blue violence red blue red blue violet red blue violet violence red blue red blue violet violate violet violence red blue red blue violet violate violence red blue red blue violet violent violence red blue red blue violet Americans violate red blue face. Violence violates red blue violets lying on the front steps, lying face down red white and blue means so much to you, red blue violets America's violence.

I didn't know him well. But I knew he didn't deserve the heartache of those he left behind.

I love that I got to use an image from one of my favorite films for this piece (Altered States). Cinema magazines from the 80s are a dear friend of mine. I'd also like to note that this is the final product of deciding the first collage I ever made should become the new background of the foremost piece, both originally made in 2020.
