My name is Abdulmajid.

I got married one month before the war. Those were beautiful days — full of hope, love, and simple dreams. I dreamed of a small home, a quiet family, and a baby girl I could hold without fear.

But the war came… Suddenly. Brutally.

My mother was killed. My brother was killed. Children in my family were taken by the bombs. My home was destroyed. And my work stopped completely.

Then… in the middle of this nightmare, my baby girl was born. A tiny soul, innocent, unaware of the war. She cries from hunger, from cold, from the sounds of bombs shaking what’s left of our walls.

Today, I’m a father with almost nothing… Fighting every day to find flour, milk, or even a small meal to feed my child.

Prices are sky-high — a single 25kg bag of flour can cost $800. There is no work. No income. No safety. No stability.

I write this from under siege, hoping my heart will reach yours.

hey! i can answer this!

basically, most if not all gaza fundraising was happening on gofundme simply due to name recognition and brand trust. however, gofundme quickly proved itself to be actively complicit in the genocide through its targeting of palestinian fundraisers for deletion and suppression.

my own friend siraj lost over $27,000 he had painstakingly raised over several months when gofundme arbitrarily declared his previously verified fundraiser fraudulent. he instantly lost access to food and housing for his entire family and has not been able to regain that progress since.

by contrast, chuffed has basically never given gaza fundraisers any problems. it actively promotes palestine-related fundraisers on its front page.

chuffed has also been used by the sameer project, crips for esims for gaza, and other palestine orgs for over a year now. after a particularly bad wave of deletions (of which siraj was a victim) people began migrating their fundraisers to chuffed, and it's become the go-to host site for new crowdfunding campaigns.

so if you see a fundraiser on chuffed, that's why!

i will never forget my first time getting into discourse on this site was arguing with a bunch of dipshit anticivs who thought mining asteroids or other celestial bodies to be colonialist like by default. like idk their understanding of colonialism was not an ongoing relationship of oppression and exploitation by the colonisers against the colonised, but going to a place to mine things i guess.

one of the funniest things that came out of it was someone saying something along the lines of "i don't want the other planets to get turned into radioactive parking lots too" which like... girl... the overwhelming majority of the universe is barren and radioactive. there is no ecosystem to destroy. the only real problems with space mining would be issues of labour. like if this somehow becomes a thing within a capitalist economy, the people doing the mining will be subject to horrifying conditions and exploitation like we've never seen before.

Amazing how even when people try to criticize the US military and rightfully identify the US as imperialist, they still manage to defend US soldiers as innocent poor little meow meows who were forced to kill people for capitalism, had no free will in choosing to sign up to do imperialist murder, and are the real victims.

Also, how many times do we have to go over that the US military is NOT made up of impoverished people, who are actually the least likely to enlist, but the majority are middle-class and wealthy (mostly white) Americans who join out of patriotism and military family legacy, and if they are 'deprived' of anything, it's entitlement to a free MBA and corporate consultant job.

being a man is not an unchangeable immutable trait, it's a social category. saying you hate the social category of men is only bioessentialist if you think that social category is actually a biological one, which is an insane thing to do if you're trying to argue that both cis and trans men are victims of "misandry".

"misandry" cannot be simultaneously a bioessentialist thing AND something that happens to men who aren't cis.
