Hippocratic Oath

I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:

If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.

So here’s the thing… I may or may not have gotten a tattoo yesterday without planning it. My vixen twin friend jumped in my car yesterday and was like, I want to get a tattoo today, and I was like, yeah me too, let’s do it. So we did. And a few hours later I got this little number. But don’t worry, I’ve been thinking about it for a while;)  Referencing 1 Peter 2:24, “by His wounds you are healed,” and Isaiah 53:5, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”  "by His wounds I have been healed," a beautiful statement that I do not deserve and will never get over.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!
