this event is a fan event with the goal of bringing together different cultures through fun and cute cookie run characters!

itis meant to be for ALL cookie run artist and fans, beginner or pro doesn't matter!

RULES:

at the bare minimum you must make; 1 cake hound representing your culture, 1 cookie cookie oc representing your culture

"can I make more?" Yes! it's encouraged to make more!

Example submission:

DO NOT:

Make harmful racial stereotypes

Use this event to attack someone’s culture, race, or religion

Use this event to attack your own culture, race, or religion

Use this as a political event

Fetishize any race, culture, or religion

Attack others’ OCs or submissions

Attack others for representing the same culture as you

What do you mean by political?:

This event is a celebration, not a debate space.

It’s okay to include struggles or meaningful history in your designs, but please don’t use this event to argue, preach, or correct others.

Everyone’s cultural experience is valid, but this isn’t the time or place for political discussion or cultural criticism.

TIPS:

A few people who pre-signed up for this event said things like,

"Oh, I’m just Canadian" or "Oh, I’m just British."

But guess what? That’s still a culture!

We are all from different places, and we’d LOVE to hear about your unique background.

Your experiences, traditions, food, slang, weather, family quirks, it’s all part of your culture, and it’s all worth celebrating!

If you’re unsure about your culture or race (for example, “I’m just white though”), I strongly encourage you to talk to your parents or grandparents about your ancestry!

Nobody is “raceless” everyone comes from somewhere, and every background has stories, traditions, and beauty worth exploring.

If you're really struggling, you can try the following:

Make a Cookie or Cake Hound based on your experience with mental health or disability (like OCD, Autism, blindness, Deafness, etc). Just be respectful, we want to uplift, not stereotype!

Want to celebrate a culture you admire but aren’t from? That’s okay too, just make sure to research and treat it with care. Be clear it’s a tribute, not your own background.

IMPORTANT:

We still encourage you to explore your own culture first!

Even if you feel like you “don’t have one,” you do. Every family, region, or background has stories, foods, music, and traditions that make it special, even if it doesn’t feel obvious at first.

This event is a great chance to reconnect with that and turn it into something creative and meaningful!

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Option 1 (most recommended): Join the Cookies of Culture Discord server and submit your art there! It's the easiest way for everyone to share, discuss, and support each other's designs. Submitting through Discord also helps me keep track of everything for the final showcase post!

Option 2:

Tag me either on Tumblr or TikTok! Make sure you add if you want to be included in the final post album!

submissions will be closed in July 10th! this way I can work on the final album!

if all goes well I plan on hosting this next year too! so don't be worried if you can't submit on time!

ah well, since this is a devlog blog I may aswell introduce you to the main villain.

the main villain for the game called Dawn of Solstice is, drum roll...

...named Solstice. Real creative ikr.

Their design is bound to change (alot, for that matter) during development for sure; but for now, it's this.

the lore is that they, quite lieterally, were tossing around the MC one day and accidentally dropped them on Earth, giving MC amnesia and now they wanna find out what their original purpose was. Throughout the game Solstice just watches in mild amusement, waiting for the MC to find their way to them

they also have an opposite, Equinox; but they don't have a design yet.
