【Unboxing】 Today my closetchild order arrived. :)

Also today 12 years ago, amber gris was formed. I use to listen to them when I want to chill and get a clear mind. The song “from mouth”, from which the photo is, is one of my absolute favorite songs.  Unfortunately amber gris disbanded in May 2015. About one year later an other of my favorite bands formed. It was Sioux with former amber gris guitarist Kaname on Vocals, but as VK business is, Sioux disbanded either in 2019.

Today one year ago was my until now last j-rock concert I attended live. I went to all three DIR EN GREY lives in Germany (München, Dortmund, Berlin) and I really miss that time. I remember the beautiful Ranunculus outro or the day in Dortmund when I caught Shinya’s drumstick, but it was also a difficult time due to some personal reasons.  I hope someday we can all come back to normal to see our favorite bands live on stage. Stay healthy my friends!

Lately I thought I really need more demo tapes since they are basicly the quintessence of "rare". ;) So I thought I could make a post of mine. Most of them are from MUCC, while "NO!?" is a fake one as I found out. :/ Was highly possible since there are only 10 copies existing. Also I found out there is a second "Tsuuzetsu" tape, it's currently on Mercari and Yahoo Auctions Japan! Specially on Mercari I saw many great chances to get tapes for a good price, I even found THE BACK HORN tapes ("Doko e iku" and a "Ningen Program" sampler) and "Sakura" from D'espairsRay as well. So many great chances. :) What tapes do YOU guys have in your collection, and what's your favorite one?

What I think when somebody says “Boku no Pico”... (sorry pls don’t unfollow me) Well for today I had a look at my goodies and remembered this little friend. The studio album 2PIKO, or at least this version of it, contains a little Paper-Piko for self-crafting. For me he contains a lot of memories, a lot of emotions. I ordered it when I was with my ex-best friend for the very last time. She was a Piko-fan and finally after a 10 years with her and some more time I began to appreciate him almost as much as her. Maybe that happaned only because it’s one of the last things which lasted from the time with her beside some other parts of my music taste, but when I listen to Piko nowadays it’s a very same feeling. Although I’m sad that she isn’t in my life anymore I really enjoy the music so much more.  There are more kinds of Paper-Pikos in certain other releases btw. Hope I can get the others soon as well. :)

Okay let’s use my insomnia for a post. Right now I’m listening to “THE RECORDING at NHK CR-509 Studio” by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, which is basicly a live-album, just not recorded on stage but as a studio session. I really appreciate this release, it makes fun to listen to it since it’s different, it feels more like those guys are right here playing for me than an actual studio album would sound like. The limited edition includes also a DVD with 5 songs of this session. It’s nice to watch them having some fun together. I really wonder why I didn’t bought more AKG items for such a long time...

Today, 20 years ago, deadman held their first live at Nagoya Diamond Hall in their hometown.  When I got to know deadman they were already on their long long hiatus which lasted until 2019, where the two remaining band member Maco and Aie started a one man tour together with lynch.’s Asanao on drums, and on bass at first Tetsu (MERRY) and later Kazu (the goad and death stars). My first song is on the album “in the direction of sunrise and night light” (photo) and is called “follow the night light” which has a nice music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpBijYcCHf0 A good hint for all the new vk fans out there, who probably don’t know the older bands. deadman is a timeless classic. Collector Diary (No.1 - 2021-01-05) I was looking for nice ideas to keep myself more active and decided a diara would be a good idea. Talking about the progress in my collection and more or less related things.  Well, at the moment I need to safe even more money than before for a Japan journey which might already happen this year, although we have not a lot of hope left due to corona, but if it can happen I want to be ready. Anyway therefore I won’t order anything the whole January, BUT I’m still waiting for 3 orders. One of them is a rarezhut package which I ordered via the programm “rarezhub europe”. It’s basicly for saving shipping costs, I will talk about that more specificly in a post I planned for the future. Included are one “CD Lucky Bad” with 10 CDs and a few CDs I picked by myself, for example from LIPHLICH and Plastic Tree.  Which is a good transition to the 2nd package. Some time after I filled my RarezHub I ordered a small package with 6 Plastic Tree CDs via Yahoo Auctions Japan for which I used Buyee as the proxy shopping service. To safe money I used small package shipping (it saved me about 10€ in compair to the usual shipping methods) but unfortunately it’s at Frankfurt customs since November 3rd 2020... it never happened that it took so long (meanwhile two bigger packages, who were shipped later in December, already arrived). I probably won’t this shipping method in the future, even though it’s the very first time such a thing happens.  And the 3rd package is something I wrote about in a previous post. SARIGIA official online shop ships many items overseas, including 3 live distribution singles which I ordered (1x 1000yen, 2x 500yen). The shipping method was only 1000yen which is very cheap! It might be the same shipping method like the plastic tree package though. Let’s see what happens. So this is Status Quo. What can you do meanwhile when nothing arrives and no new orders are possible? Yes correct, preparing! In the first place I remembered I have additional shelf boards which I can includ in my big CD shelf. I also changed the kind of ordering them, I seperated the DVD sized items from the CD sized items. It kinda bothers me that there are now CDs on the DVD side and counterwise, but for now it was the right decision. Today I changed another little thingy (^photo), which means a previously totally full shelf has now space for about 140 more CDs. Also there’s extra space for such things like 8cm singles and demo tapes. Only the DVD/VHS zone can’t take more than like 1 or 2 items. When I need even more space I could take out the overseas music to another shelf. I guess I will make a small journey through my collection at some point in the future, so you can see everything. 誕生日おめでとう、ノーゴッドさん★ It’s NoGoD’s 16th birthday today. 2005/01/03 was the day they formed under the name 新興宗教楽団NoGoD (Shinkou shuukyou gakudan NoGoD) until they shortened their name to NoGoD in 2010. I began my still very small NoGoD collection in March 2013, about one month after the release of their studio album “V”. It was one of 27 CDs I ordered via CDJAPAN.  Meanwhile a lot happened including bassist Karin leaving the band and an unfortunately canceled euro-tour where I had already a ticket for Munich. I hope can manage to see them at some point in the future. I really would like to see Dancho live, who seems to be a very nice and funny guy. Also some of my favorite songs would great at a live, something like パンドラ (Pandora), Ring-a Ring-o, Follow or 讃美歌 (Sanbika). Any NoGoD-fans here?

あけおめ！ Let’s begin 2021 with one of my absolute favorite albums. It took me some time but after two euro tours (for me 4 concerts in total) with that release I love it so so much. I connect happy as well as sad memories with it.  I round up the playlist with the Piano Ver. of Ranunculus, a great outro on the live shows and of course for playlists as well. What are you guys listening to rn?

It combines what I laugh the most about アヲイ: Intensity and Melancholy.
