As a shinobi, Kotaro can detect people's presence as a colour code along with a feeling. This is canonically evident when he could detect a presence from Raikou during Onigashima but I want to expand on that there. Different colours whether a single or blended colour indicate what the person's personality is, for example Ozymandias is bright and blinding yellow and orange like the sun, it gives the shinobi a warm and vibrant feeling and for Sanson, it's a single soft blue like the ocean- melancholic and safe.

Kotaro was more like an open book towards people he can trust there really and the leader of Huntr/x was one of them there. The burden of keeping secrets or not accepting oneself can be tiring for one person, so it's better to share it.
