COM01 - PERFORMANCE TASK 6
1. Media is like a weapon; we can either brutalize it or we can uplift it. - Depending on the intentions of the person utilizing such a tool, it can bring dangerous effects if people use it in a selfish manner. Whenever we post something, anyone can view it; strangers can view it. If left unchecked, it can brutally affect the people’s minds. On other hand, there are times when media is used for non-selfish reasons, but still, it can be used as a weapon or some sort of entertainment.

2.)
a.) Army of Jesus post - PROPAGANDA

2.)
b.) Terror Attack News - FEARMONGERING
2.)
c.) GATEKEEPING
3.) A.) To say that I learned plenty from Media and Information Literacy is an understatement. I was able to understand media in a much more deeper aspect and since I’m pursuing a career in Journalism, the subject itself was a big plus. Without a doubt, I enjoyed what the subject has to offer and I believe those information will be able to provide a lot of insight in my career in the future.
B.) When I heard I was taking this subject, I was somewhat interested already and when I saw how the teacher taught this subject, it was nothing more of entertaining and interesting. From just the way she transitioned from one topic to the other, the pace was easy enough for me to follow. She was engaging and endearing, almost as if she knew the subject like the back of her hand. It’s safe to say that her subject was one of my favorites when it was her time to take the floor and speak.

Don’t you think it’s suspicious for a website to suddenly start asking personal information out of the blue? There are some websites on the internet, especially the ones that seemingly offer money by answering their surveys, which inquires your real information to proceed. Personally, I have come across various websites like those in the past so to play it safe, I just close it before something goes wrong on my end. In hindsight, you can’t really trust that website unless it comes from a viable source.
