And the fact that it was one of the Final Destination movies made it that much more poignant. Very Sad™️ teenagers can and will and do think of the most tragic and brutal and visceral things you can imagine like all of the time. I know this because I was that and every piece of art I created back then was so despairing and pessimistic and tinged with grief and anger in a way that was perhaps “cringe” but also undeniably earnest and informed by something real. there is this power the teenage mind has to lock in to the most painful and upsetting feelings possible and amplify them by ten just because and frankly I don’t know how anyone survives it. which is to say, if you don’t love and understand Scary Marlowe then you’re a heartless bastard who has completely severed your connection to the teenage plight in favor of something less raw and more artificial. that or you’re currently too deep in it to love someone so close to you, in which case I forgive you and for the love of god keep going and give yourself some grace. you are NOT wrong it IS in fact brutal out there I am SO sorry
