it was hard for her to be back after all this time. but it suddenly got ten times harder as soon as a tribute approached her, asking her for advice. they looked so innocent and fragile, it was like jackie could have cried right then and there. “sure,” the brunette smiled weakly. “what is it that you would like to know more about?”
lily didn’t really know what was expected of her in training. should she show off all her talented to everyone or keep it for more closed door places. she wanted people to notice her, but not notice her too much that she becomes a target. “can i get your advice on some things?” the tribute asked jackie.

marcus had spent the morning sparing against of the trainers, while a lot of mentors didn’t train like they were still in the games, marcus did. he wanted to make sure that he was always prepared to help his tributes. he smiled when he noticed another mentor. “jackie, long time no see.” he said with a chuckle, while most of the time mentors didn’t see each other for almost a year, this time it was more like a week.
@jackicflcur
the brunette’s lips curved into a smile upon meeting her fellow mentor. “hey,” she mused, approaching him slowly. “yeah, totally.” jackie said sarcastically as she rolled her eyes at marcus. “what have you been up to since then?”

she nodded, ‘that’ll do it. this place looks almost exactly like when i first came here. i thought they would have changed the decorations.’ she paused smiling at her words. ‘maybe they’re hoping to keep us in our rooms by freezing us.’
“i honestly can’t seem to remember the exact way it used to look like-- guess i wanted to forget it.” jackie smiled half-heartedly. “i think they want us to leave our rooms and talk to the tributes.”

“i .. can’t drink.” she shrugged nonchalantly. “but i do see where you’re coming from, sorry.” jackie apologized, resting her head on one of her hands. “what would you like to talk about then? i’m taking suggestions.”
‘listen i’m off the clock now which means no talk of the game and no talk of the tributes.’ all everyone wanted to talk about what the game and the tributes and what he had seen from them so far. he didn’t want to keep playing into the game longer than he had to. ‘so join me for a drink or move down the bar.’

she laughed shaking her head. ‘it’s definitely the full moon.’ she paused running her hands through her hair. being back in the tribute center brought back many unpleasant memories that she would rather forget. ‘it’s this place or something. being her again. i barely sleep every time we come here.’
“well, i just came here for the first time in three years.” jackie explained, laughing awkwardly. the last few years were spent in victor’s village with her lips pressed to a bottle. “maybe it’s just the a/c. they keep turning it up even though it’s already freezing.”

“well if you had a mom like mine, you would know why i have taste. i could show you some pictures of me when i was younger. i had wigs that were like four different colors in one and were as tall as me.” she chuckled. “probably not so much on the extravagance, more using your own beauty to the strength of the outfit.”
“well, it was probably my mother who made those wigs for your 5-year-old head.” she chuckled, though the memory of her family brought her great heartache. “aww, that’s nice. what are you going to do for this year’s games? do you know who your tribute is yet?” despite the games being horrible, jackie couldn’t help but feel excited for her friend.

“i know people have more problems than me, but at the same time, you don’t know me or anything in my life. and if i could stop these games i would, in a heartbeat. i’ve never been able to watch a games in my whole life. if there was a way the capitol could fall i would be doing everything in my power to do it.”
a sigh escaped her lips. “empty words.” she did not believe him in the slightest. “i don’t want you to stop these games, i want you and your family to get reaped and then die in there. also, you know full well i could report you for speaking about the capitol like that, so i wouldn’t really go talk shit to random strangers.”

aurelia chuckled softly at jackie. the stylist was more of a simple person who didn’t go all out, but went out well enough to get noticed. “well you know, if it’s bizarre and insane it sells.” the blonde chuckled. “but definitely not my taste.”
“yeah, you’re one of the few people who have taste here.” jackie rolled her eyes, though still smiling softly. “i wonder what i would have looked like if you had been my actual stylist and not just part of my prep team. couldn’t have been worse, that’s for sure.” she shuddered, thinking back at the extravagant costume she was given back then.

“oh of course. who wouldn’t be proud of a legacies of killing children and destroying families, starving people while others sit in luxury. such a great thing to be a part of.” he said sarcastically. “my father is probably very happy he has two children older than me since there is a zero chance of me fucking up his perfect society. since my brother and sister would do anything he says.”
“poor poochie.” jackie said in a monotone voice, looking at the boy. “i’m sure there are a lot of capitol people ready to burst into tears over your little family sob story but here’s a reminder-- there are a lot of young people who just got here that would kill to have your problems. mind swapping with them?” the brunette raised her eyebrows, obviosly hinting at the tributes.

“did you see the fall collection yet? i know you people love to go all out and be extravagant as fuck, but isn’t this ridicuous even for you?” jackie snickered as she showed the other girl her phone. “and it’s probably so expensive too--- how unnecessary.”

“i swear, i haven’t slept this badly in months. do you think it could have something to do with the full moon or did i watch too many movies?” the brunette laughed out loud as she rubbed her neck a little. “for real, ever since we got here i’ve barely gotten any sleep and if i did, it’s .. not a pleasant night.” jackie sighed, referring to her nightmares that occured every once in a while.

remus got up when she mentioned they were gone and brushed off his clothes. “of course i’m happy to have my family. though if you ask my parents the same thing, they might give you a different answer. telling me all the time about how i’m going to ruin the noble name of snow. and i want to destroy everything my great-grandfather built because it’s bullshit.”
her body tensed up upon hearing the name ‘snow’, her distaste for the family being too big to hide. “there, there. shouldn’t you be proud of the great achievements your family has made? the legacy your grandfather has left?” jackie asked in an overly exaggerated sarcastic tone of voice.

“why? because if i’m trapped in a house with my brother, sister, and parents for one more day i will go insane.” remus knew he was only is own worse enemy, if he didn’t insult the capitol or games on public television he wouldn’t be in trouble, but he found it hard to keep his own mouth closed. “those are not my little friends.”
she scoffed at his remark, eyeing the peacekeepers who were obviously looking for him. shaking her head when they asked her whether she had seen remus, jackie waited for them to leave. “air’s clear, you can stop hiding now. shouldn’t you be glad to have your family with you though?” a cold shudder ran down her spine as she thought about all the people who had lost parts of their family to the games.

eyes rolling, the brunette didn’t seem to lift her eyes from the magazine she was reading. “then why are you here?” jackie wondered out loud, mindlessly flipping through the pretty coloured pages, silently judging the capitol’s latest fashion trends. “why are you hiding away from your little friends?”
remus was able to get off the grounds of the presidential manor for the first time in a few days. after getting off the train from the reaping his parents made him come home for a few days since they couldn’t trust him to be out on his own yet. but he didn’t want to stay there and wanted to meet other tributes and people, so he quickly made his way to the tributes center to see who he could meet there. but right before he entertained the doors he noticed some peacekeepers who were looking for him. he quickly slipped on his hat and sunglasses, and walked in the back door. he went into the lobby, and noticed the peacekeepers walking in. he quickly hid behind a couch a girl was sitting on. “act like i’m not here.” he told her.
