Report 8- Photo (30)
Lastly, the photographer I will introduce is Katrin Koenning. She is a German artist and she is known to be a videographer and photographer. She was born and raised in Bochum, but according the Brad Feuerhelm from the ASX article, she “ lives abroad in Australia. She made a book called “ Between the Skin and Sea”. It contains images of children and of childhood it has in expressing hope. I found it interesting how she took pictures of a child to symbolise hope, but in the end, she has a simple shot containing a white cloth that hangs on a clothes line, it makes the representation of rebirth as new.
In my opinion, there was one specific photograph that caught my eye. I thought it was interesting, but satisfied with the editing and the appearance. It's a shot of the ocean, but it appears to be in the middle of the ocean. This truly caught me by surprise, the destination and the appearance of the water, it looks hand-painted with the sunlight beaming on the waves, it creates an atmosphere of hope, peace, and guidance.

Report 7- Photo (30)
The Photographer I’ve done research on was Sofia Coppola. She was born in New York City. She is known as a photographer but also as a director. Coppola made multiple collections of books, but the one I enjoyed seeing is specifically called the “Archive 1999-2023.” The title sounds rather interesting because it's a broad title, yet the photographs speak for themselves, for the concept.  According to Brad Feuerhelm, the author who created an article on Sofia Coppola - Archive 1999- 2023, suggests the book is more of a “note-taking” and whimsy.
In my opinion, I thought Coppola's work was, yes, like note taking as Feuerhelm suggested, but in my words, her book appears as a diary containing summaries, notes, and photos, such as a diary would contain. This book also contains personal letters, but it also contains photographs of her shooting scenes while directing on set, such as of the actors at work. I feel like truly captured by both the 1999 - 2023 themes because many would journal on paper, but she also provided modern technology.

Report 6 - Photo (30)
During the research of finding a new photographer, I found Sage Sophier, who was born in Washington, D.C in 1954. She studied photography at Harvard University, Wellesley College. She is well known for taking photographs in black and white, and she has done many books containing her photographs. But the collection that captured my eye was named " Americans Seen" it contains a series of black and white photos with a sense of Renaissance look. As if time had stood still during the Renaissance era, several of her subjects are dressed during that period.
There's a specific photo that caught my eye, the background she captured has an appearance of an old hometown from the late century. And within the photo is an African American child who is pulling a wooden cart, but the way she captured both the background and how the child is captured would guide the viewer's eyes to explore the shot. In my opinion, I truly think this is an interesting photograph it makes me question what exactly the child is doing.

Report 5- Photo (30)
The Photographer by the name of Sofia Masini lives and works in Milan she attended the University of Milan. She made a book which contains a collection of her photographs she named the book “ The body is a revelation as is landscape” this collection contains images that have been cut, disassembled and recreated into a new photograph. She printed the images in black and white in order to feel more of the depth of an emotional human concept. According to the article from the ASX website it states how each image has a certain part or negative space in order to capture the viewer's attention to the female body or just the human bodies. These images are supposed to contain emotional concepts toward the body she cuts out, for example parts of the  human image from her photo in order to help represent trauma.
In my opinion, Masini really demonstrated a unique way of representing the image of a human body. The destruction of oneself is something that is rarely spoken about. There is one specific photograph that captured my attention, which contains images of the human part and shells on a white, empty background. It really captures the essence of certain parts of the human body, and with the image containing the shells, are is a representation of rebirth or a new home. This is how I interpret the image.

Report 4 - Photo (30)
The Photographer I decided to research on was Carmen Winant. She was born and raised in San Francisco in the year 1983. She studied at California College of the Arts (CCA). Winant made a collection of series of photos about a difficult topic, abortion She named her collection “ The Last Safe Abortion,” which captured my attention because this is a topic that many find difficult to speak about, but she does it with photographs. Carmen Wnant is best known for her work in editing, and she is known for producing works that need to surface into the light, such as difficult themes. In the book “ The Last Safe Abortion,” she explores legal federal abortion; it contains photos of clinics and patients in the room during a certain process. She made this specific book and collection in order to represent a message. She would shoot images of needles being used during the process, and she shot pictures of the body and of a pregnancy test being displayed.
In my opinion, she truly brought a topic that is difficult to speak about within her photography, or represents certain areas within this topic. In the photos, she demonstrates how this is a sensitive matter by making four photos into one page the way she arranged them is an interesting way. One photograph I feel is the main core of this collection contains the process of how things are done in the clinics.

Report 3- Photo (30)
The photographer I decided upon was Mikael Gregorsky. He is a photographer who moves from place to place. Gregorsky did a collection named " Sun," which contains black and white photographs. They appear to have been taken in Japan because several of his photos show women in kimonos and Mount Fuji, a popular tourist spot. As stated in the website "ASX" Gregorsky was trying to recreate a "Western Counterpart" of photographs. He would photograph typical things you see in Japan such as the statues, Women in traditional wear. But for viewers of different locations it creates a more appling to see this photographs.
In my opinion, I absolutely loved looking at his work because Japan is a destination I desire to travel to in the near future. I grew up searching for everything about Japan. But one specific photo he captured was the woman in the kimonos. I found this one interesting because the women are captured looking away from the camera not as a portrait. It creates a sense of what is capturing there attention away from the camera.

Report 2- Photo (30)
The photographer I decided to research is Jochen Lempert. I have specifically seen the collection named “ Natural Sources” from the American Suburb X website. Lempert is well known for white and black photographs. He was also well known to have an interesting perspective on the world. He looks more with in to the depths of the structure for example a leaf he looks more in depth by shooting the patterns and texture of the object. His work is supposed to encourage others to look more in-depth with - in nature. To create a scenes of how extraordinary the world truly is.
In my opinion, he does make an interesting discovery of how looking at the world as a micro. At first glance at his work, I thought he was going to be the typical shots of roses or flowers. But there's one specific shot he took of a moth on a leaf; it appears the lighting makes the moth blend in with the leaf, but if you look further in, you can see the texture of the moth and leaf at once.

Report 1 - Photo (30)
The photographer I decided to research was Kentaro Kumon, specifically the collection named “Smoke and Steam. Seeing this collection was interesting to look at. Kentaro is a Japanese photographer. he is well known for black and white photography. There's a specific photograph Kumon took of a deer leaning on the chain fence. It’s an interesting shot because you can see the details and how there are shadows, which create an ominous feeling to the viewer. It makes the viewer want to reach out and actually pet the creature.
This collection in my opinion, was very different from what i have seen. Because usually when i see a collection of art work it's usually of simple still life arrangements or portraits of people. But seeing Kumon photography it made me think more out of the horizon.
