An 18+ Danganronpa Fandom Server!
We've noticed around that there was a distinct lack of general servers for the Danganronpa fandom that suited our personal preferences, so we made one! This server is intended to foster and facilitate community within the fandom across the entire series. If you like to talk Danganronpa in any sense of the franchise, this server is for you!
Notable spaces we have include:
Three general discussion channels
Specific channels for fan content, including fanart, fanfiction, and meta
More to come, with a suggestion box for spaces to be added in the future as the server grows!
Other important features:
Fictionfolk and fictive friendly, with Tupperbox and Pluralkit available for system members
Doubles friendly, with no doubles list
No blacklist, with a general stamp of 18+ to allow for darker topics
An Important Note: While this server is for the most part open to anyone, more than anything we want to facilitate a welcoming space for people to feel open talking about the things they're interested in, regardless of the nature of the topic. We're anti-harassment here in every sense of the word, and so to maintain that, we ask people to submit the following Google Form to agree to our guidelines in order to receive an invite link. No exceptions.
We look forward to seeing you there!

One of my favorite things about Danganronpa v3 is this super minor nitpick but they made Kiibo light as FUCK what the hell kind of robot is only 189 pounds, I weigh more then Kiibo, that's so funny every time to me i get a new weighting at like the doctor and whatever and I have to make sure I still weigh more then kiibo because its just, it's really funny to me that Kiibo is so fucking light for a robot, paper thin ass sheet metal

I think a lot of this is down to the Danganronpa series itself flirting with conspiracy theory as a 'background theme' but that you can't confirm from POV- the organisation Byakuya mentions as 'controlling politics behind the scenes', the idea of aliens as per Yasuhiro's own experiences- er, allegedly that is, someone scrawling an Eye of Horus in red paint(??) in the other dorms, added to Yasuhiro's talk of OOParts, about the 'ancient alien race getting revenge on humanity' (he says this if you talk to him prior to an FTE one time) yadayada... and then combining this kinda crap with confirmed extra-normal stuff specific to the Danganronpa world- ghosts and possession, talents like Clairvoyance, Analysis etc which is a thing that the main story doesn't go into and tends to 'treat like conspiracy', and if that wasn't enough, leaving mystery paranormal situations mixed in with that, things like Sayaka's apparent psychic gift, and- just- *gestures at entirety of DRV3*. It's endlessly frustrating because of how characters like Yasuhiro act like they're living in our world, and trying to talk about how the Danganronpa world toys with conspiracy ideas that reflect real-world nonsense rooted in bigotry but also might be 'real and distinct things' in the context of their world is a recipe for disaster. I'm glad someone else mentioned it because tripping and falling headlong into this hell without a clue has just about shaved years off my life
Isn't Yasuhiro kinda racist because of the antisemetic lizard stuff and aliens built the pyramids?
Iiiits kinda complicated, because like, yes the conspiracies themselves are bigoted, there's also no malice to it with him which makes it much more complicated then just "he's racist" ...does he even bring up lizards actually? He says too much crazy shit for me to remember, like he probably does, but I am blanking.
Like he's wrong, and he's spreading bad information, and like I can't say he's NOT being kinda bigoted but I think if you were like "hey thats racist" he'd be like "ah geez i didn't mean it like THAT im not some crazy person" and then he goes on a rant about how while aliens did build the pyramids it was ACTUALLY part of a trade deal because you see ancient egyptions had like usbs and stuff so they were actually SUPER technologically evolved before the aliens backed out on the trade deal and went to war with them.
Which is both 200% more crazy and also somehow the best case option for this kind of person I think.
Like, he's never NOT gonna believe this stuff, so you just gotta make sure he stays on the "you think the moon is real?" pathway of nonsense and not "the moon landing is faked" pathway of nonsense to cancel out most of the nastiest bits.

I've had an idea- that I make this blog a Kodaka-Uchikoshi-Tookyoo combo, since it's come to my attention that Tribe Nine isn't necessarily Kodaka's if at all (just that Komatsuzaki was involved with the art and the story is coming off as rather inspired by DR). Which means Zero Escape and the AI: Somnium collection too. And- whatever else of the Tookyoo that I bother with, haha
I'll fix the pinned post when I'm able to edit it (on computer) because apparently mobile doesn't like editing posts that are pinned (: Also idk whether to change the blog name or no, I'll have to think about it </3
Also each game will be given the respective #tag: [title variant] and I will at least try to give warning for a new title to make it on here, older ones might be trickier but I'll see

About the Hundred Line twins, and the theory of Kokichi twins?
Well, if you don't mind spoilers, there's something else decidedly interesting about these two that seems resonant.............

I saw a post on my dash talking about how Tsumugi is a shitty story teller (as an endearing, "baby's bad at stories but trying her very best just doesn't have the skill yet" character flaw now as a dig) and I REALLY dig that interpretation a lot, but I also want to talk about a different take on it because I have BrainRot about it now
And it has to do with her Mastermind Sprites and the interpretation that V3 Was Not Fiction.
Tumblr media
I've posted about this before on my old blog where I jokingly discussed that Tsumugi's eyes (aside from just flat out changing color, like what) look extremely stressed.
Her pupils are drawn with the scratchy look that Danganronpa has used for insanity in the past, and Tsumugi has purple bags under here eyes.
So what could this mean for a Tsumugi Shirogane who was the Mastermind of Game 53, to be on the cusp of insanity and to have bags under her eyes?
A lot of people joked in the original post that it was the Team DR Crunch Time, but I do have to wonder if Tsumugi is even enjoying herself as the Mastermind. These insane, tired looking sprites only pop up when she IS presenting as the Mastermind, and one other time that I think is important to mention.
At the end of her Salmon mode event:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is her Graduation Event Video if you want to double check it, but in this instance, the writers chose for not her to only imply that the person "Tsumugi Shirogane" was merely a cosplay, (which is an INSANE LORE DROP that I don't think people notice/talk about ENOUGH about Tsumugi) BUT that the Freudian slip was unintentional--a showcase of her true self.
And how is this "true self" described? Well--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As if the light left her eyes.
This could indicate lifelessness, but I also see it used a LOT to describe exhaustion and depression. A lifeless state of mind, if you will. And this was describing a sprite under the label of her mastermind sprites.
I think Tsumugi is a passionate person over her hobbies and fandom, I think she writes fanfics as love letters to the fandoms she adores and cosplays her characters out of pure love for them, as she complains about in her FTEs when mentioning people have been putting themselves before their characters when it comes to cosplay professionals.
I don't think V3 was a product of her love at all, if she even made it herself. Her grand reveal of her being the mastermind is full of sprites with eyes that are described as lifeless.
I don't think anyone who wants to be doing what they're doing would have lifeless eyes while doing it.

...and the Archive is actually linked on the blog now instead of the icons that I don't even use anymore, hahaha
I fixed a couple of things- one thing, the stupid Archive situation where there was a mess of half-relevant tags I wasn't using any more, and the past dr/other dr tag which I've now streamlined into only one tag, something I'd been meaning to do for aaaaaages
...it did take over two hours on impulse, sure, but it's done :')

I'm wondering now, if this room is a reference to the original Kamen Rider (although granted, the former is the door interior, the latter the door exterior). To the left is the HQ of the evil organisation 'Shocker', that modified Takeshi Hongo into a grasshopper-cyborg. The guy ended up breaking free from Shocker's control, and spends his life resisting the organisation that 'made' him, as a hero
...Which, given how Kokichi likes to talk about being the 'ruler' of an 'evil organisation', feels very appropriate and meaningful for his character, regardless of how you imagine his origin story.

Watching people whine about how Ishimondo isn’t canon because Kodaka said it’s just friendship is so draining. As if canonical feelings ever stopped anyone from shipping is the first place.
Kodaka is sharing how HE feels. He did not say “stop shipping ishimondo” or “stop making ishimondo fanart” or “stop writing ishimondo fanfiction”. He said in his interpretation, they are only friends.
People treat Kodaka’s word like the Word of God, once he says something, it can never change. But that’s not how it works. The point of fandom is to engage in media how YOU want to. Ishimondo will never be canon and guess what? THATS OKAY! YOU CAN STILL SHIP THEM! YOU CAN STILL WRITE FANFICTION AND DRAW FANART! YOU CAN STILL CRY BECAUSE THE SHIP MEANS SO SO MUCH TO YOU!!! Kodaka WANTS people to interpret Danganronpa differently!!!

Boy, do I. And my theory-Kokichi especially does </3 He's very closely vibed to Venti like that, in this whole dang song
youtube
I don't know if I've shoved this song in your faces before but this song is very Kurochi and Kokichi to me.
But I can also imagine this for Kaede and Kaito ngl. Fitting that this is Kaede's VA singing the song.

What's happenin' folks, here's a pinned with basic mcguffins (subject to change)
What to expect on this blog for starters
General theory rundown:
Older, but clues involving symbolism re. 'horse twins' clue
The chaos in the DR lore (over potentially many many years)
Mid-Tragedy Conspiracies and Ultimate Scapegoats
This isn't exhaustive but I hope it doesn't need to be for an overview of the hell(tm), and a decent precedent for the connection of HPA past to DRV3 present. I've curated a few tags on the Archive too

My goodness Kokichi, this is a Mass-Panic Debate that you revved up, and you weren’t even a part of it! What in the world are you doing, jumping in like that?
Ahem. I’ve gone through this stuff before, but there’s a crucial thing I missed-
Tumblr media
-regarding Shuichi’s comment here. Which is weird, because…
Tumblr media
Shuichi… was the one who asked Kokichi to pick open the door, in the first place. This entire scene corroborates that, punctuated with Kokichi’s little confirmation. Yet, it’s presented in trial as if Shuichi had no part in that, and even the flashback in the trial doesn’t mention that he asked.
You would think he would say something along the lines of ‘but Kokichi, I asked you to pick that door open, watched you pick it open, and there were several witnesses’ to debunk him. But nope. Odd. What’s even stranger about this is that Maki - as one of said witnesses - then proceeds to get on Kokichi’s case about playing dumb while missing Shuichi’s ‘blip’ of the matter entirely.
Tumblr media
This context-obfuscation happens a second time with the floorboard incident, but Kokichi corrects him then. Since the evidence bullet was labelled ‘Bloody Kokichi’, there doesn’t seem to be chance that Shuichi had forgotten he was badly hurt, and given the focus Kokichi had made on calling out this second incident, it really feels like obfuscation was a deliberate writing choice.
What especially bothers me about this is how in the instance of the lockpicking, the actual event feels like it’s pushed back in the others’ consciousness, because of the oddly detached way Shuichi brings that up. This doesn’t seem like much right this moment, but just as Kokichi’s shtick is a subtle style of ‘psychological warfare’, Shuichi himself is not above some uh… weird selectivity.
It’s hard to say exactly why he would minimise things related to Kokichi - besides stated misgivings, post Insect Meet and Greet in FTE - but it is notable that he does… in a manner that mentally distances him from things to do with Kokichi. And when this happens, it’s like he’s less likely to care about things that are related, and in turn factors them in his reasoning less, making him less objective. This shift can result in ignoring - or otherwise handwaving - things about Kokichi that he doesn’t understand/have context for, or even pulling outright underhanded tactics to take him down in a trial.
Whatever the case, he’s not unlikely to skew important things related to Kokichi… especially if he doesn’t have the time to think about them.

What especially bothers me about this is that Aoi is acting as an unintentional (on her part) narrative blockade, and it's with regard to the identity of the mastermind. The narrative is railroading you away from checking the hatch, which later turns out to be crucial.
Moreover, not only is the conspicuous looking 'item' in DRV3's case completely void of any marker, coupled with Shuichi's 'no particular interest' about the monitors, V3's Monokuma has to go and draw attention to the possibility that they missed the mastermind.
