why spotted owls? what brought you to them originally?

barred owls are the largest current obstacle to the recovery of the spotted owl population. they used to be the same species but a glacier divide mads them diverge in evolution. barred owls are native to the south but due to fire suppressing and lack of cultural burning quick growing forests sprang up along the great plains, and the owls followed them up to the pacific northwest. originally habitat destruction was what caused spotted owl population decline but even now that habitat is recovered the larger and more dominant barred owl is taking it over. spotted owls dont call to each other if barred owls are in the area. spotted owls and barred owls can also breed and make viable offspring, but these sparred owls dont contribute to the number of spotted owls, basically "wasting" the time and effort of the spotted parent. the call of a sparred owl has been described as a barred owls hoot followed by something that sounds like a spotted owl being strangled.

Hello!

I'm opening large patch/crust clothing commissions to pay for top surgery because I can't use insurance for personal reasons. Ergo, I have to pay 10k out of pocket.

I'd negotiate the price with each individual person depending on the size and scale. I don't use stencils and every patch I've done is ooak. I could select clothing to patch for you if you give me sizing, or you could mail me a particular jacket.

I handsew the patches with embroidery floss, can be different colors too. The patches are usually hemmed with washable fabric glue, but I can also use a sewing machine if that's preferred . I also use heat-sealed fabric paint that can be washed gently in a washer and dryer for easy cleaning. I want these things to last.

For something with 30-40 patches I'd probably charge 400-500 USD, but depends on the complexities of each patch, etc. I accept paypal, please dm me or reblog.

It had always been a sight for weary eyes but with Israel’s siege denying Gazans the freedom to move, its seemingly endless seascape offers, for many, a very tangible escape, even if only temporal. It has also become a very popular family destination. Entire meals are prepared, served, and eaten here, and it is not uncommon to stay the night, father, son, and all.
