A gift piece for @silvermistanimelover inspired by her wonderful fic, A Flickering Light which you can read here, I wholeheartedly recommend it! https://archiveofourown.org/works/29115231/chapters/71472666 Learned a lot of new stuff with the lighting in this piece, I still have a lot more to learn but quite pleased with the result! Extra points if you can find the easter egg!

Historical Sky and Fi! Felt inspired to draw Historical Sky, hanging out at the lumpy pumpkin with Fi, wearing his dress uniform. His uniform is based on a ww2 era British RAF uniform and the "master dagger" (should probably come up with a better name) is based on the Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife from the same country and era. I chose to shrink Fi for story reasons which will become apparently later but lore for now is the master sword can shape itself to the needs of the chosen hero of each era. Hope you all enjoy this one! Was a ton of fun to draw :)

Canonically what happens in ALTTP/ALBW when you upgrade the master sword fully. Based on the classic "Daniel vs The Cooler Daniel" meme format, I did my best to even recreate the background from the original with the cheesy-ass wallpaper. This is probably the most effort I've ever put into what was essentially a shitpost but I'm super happy with how turned out! This was a really nice opportunity for me to practice rendering metal as worst case scenario I didn't mind trashing it as it is just a silly meme at the end of the day.

Whoopsieeee posted it to my personal blog not the art blog oh well here it is haha
Never mind that's it's 4:30 am, new historical legend art just dropped! I wanted to redesign historical legend's armor as the original was essentially a historical LU legend rather than my own and my silly little AU has morphed in my head into it's own distinct thing! I included a wide shot and a closeup version for better detail! This time her armor is inspired by central European armor of the 13th century, featuring still primarily maille armor as in earlier centuries yet now including some notable reinforcement from in the form of the coat of plates seen on her in red! The coat of plates is a fabric or leather (in this case leather) bodice with a bunch of small steel armor plates riveted to the inside. You'll commonly see this type of armor mistakenly coined "studded leather" in fantasy and games which is unfortunately a modern misinterpretation of period art depicting coats of plates/brigandine (a later development of the coat of plates) This armor style was very popular in the later high middle ages as the metalworking technology only allowed smiths to make relatively small plates, so overlapping them and riveting them to a soft shell gave great protection for the time. In the drawing you can see that the rivets are done in a decorative pattern which is also quite typical of the period, though of course here it's the Triforce of course! The rest of the outfit is taken both from my previous historical legend pieces as well as from the original game art from ALTTP and the silly genderswap fun from shonen captain. I didn't originally plan to draw a background for this piece but I was loving the drawing so much that I really wanted to make it pop with a fun split background with both Hyrule and the dark world! Thank to @musical-chan for the idea to use her lance as the split line and @aurora-boreas-borealis for help with the detail painting! help from y'all really helped make this one pop! Also the horse coloration is based on the intro to the oracle games where legend is seen riding a horse, but they need a name! please comment if you have ideas :)

Historically inspired darknut! This drawing was intended to just be a quick little doodle as a bit of a brain reset while working on a fierce deity drawing but it ended up being a lot more complex to render than I expected, even still there's some details I didn't include that I'd like to so I'll likely come back to this one at some point. For the design I wanted to incorporate elements from all iterations of darknuts. Most of the armor is inspired by twilight princess's depiction though I included the cape as a nod to the original legend of zelda as well as the knight's crest from windwaker which I adapted into a 14th century inspired plaque belt! Both the sword and the helmet I went my own route for, the sword being inspired by both the Dacian Falx as well as some of the two handed falchions depicted in the Maciejowskie Bible, overall going for a spiky "bad guy" look (or to @phoenix-arts7 's eye a cheese knife XD, can't unsee that). The helmet is based on a European "frogmouth" jousting helmet which though not being particularly practical for foot combat gives a really cool and intimidating dehumanizing effect that I always felt darknut designs were trying to achieve! Hope y'all enjoy!

Historical sky! Based on a ww2 British fighter pilot. I was really happy with how this one turned out, especially the pose as I was able to do it without a reference! I did use a reference for the face and fabric folds though. The real question is now that he's british what region is he from? Let me know in the comments ;)

Historically inspired Engie, or Spirit? I've heard both, so use whichever you prefer! For this one I went with a 19th century train conductor look, I guess he got a promotion!
The gun is based on 19th century percussion revolvers and has a color scheme based on the Lokomo sword from the game, unfortunately the design how it is now wouldn't actually work but at that perspective it was gonna be more of a pain to fix than I wanted to deal with, next time I'll fix it though! Gave him a coal shovel as his other hand, thought it would be fitting haha.
Quite happy with how the shading came out on this one. Special thanks to @nancyheart11 for her help with the outfit design! go follow her!

Historically inspired Twilight! I based the design on a blend of Edo period Japanese and American western as twilight princess always felt a lot like the films of Akira Kurosawa who blended those two genres (and fantasy sometimes!) a lot. The sword is based on german "Kriegsmesser" instead of a Katana since Twi's ordon sword has a very distinctive crossroads and I wanted to include that in the design. I did think up some fun lore for the blade though, I drew it to look like a twilight sky across the width of the blade (also referencing the wavy pattern japanese swords have on the edge with how they're hardened!) as the blade is (somehow) forged out of the twilight sky. It can also cut apart the space between the light and twilight world letting Twi travel freely between the two worlds. And yes I came up with this badass lore just so I could ship one of my favorite LoZ ships.

Whoopsie accidentally posted this on my personal blog rather than the drawing one, it belongs here haha.

Historically inspired Hero of the Wild! For this one I went for scottish 17th/18th century inspired garb, adapting the archaic set from TOTK into a great kilt! I really tried challenging myself with the drawing, especially on the face and the fabric! I did originally plan to have a tartan pattern on the great kilt but I didn't feel I had the skill to pull it off with how bunched up I decided to make the fabric, maybe if I draw him again I'll do the fabric simpler and add the pattern! I also want to draw him again with the great kilt in all the different configurations you can wear it in. I also wanted to play with different outfit combinations for this one since that's such a key part of his games!
