I got distracted playing a romhack so I'm a bit late. They announced the new Arc Suit chapter, featuring Silver and Ethan!

Also, throwback to me thinking theorizing it was Gladion due to the common belief that the Aether trio were the UBs back during the pre-release period, and it having a similar color scheme and shoulder spikes:

(With the way he was constantly clutching at his arm and shaking, I thought it looked like he was focusing on trying to hold something back, y'know? 😅 I thought maybe Lusamine experimented on herself and her kids, Pokemon villains had tended to go darker and darker and we had literally just had the team that tried to kill everybody else due to classist elitism, so I was thinking of ways Lysandre could be one-upped.)

Masters is doing some Arc Suit Silver teasing, even running the story portions the events he featured in. If I knew we were getting multiple characters to a type with the Arc Suits, I would have never went for Leon since I like Silver way more as a character. That said, unless Ethan behaves himself (unlikely), I'm unfortunately gonna have to skip his banner.

Gothirita's new event and Rotom being available in Deliveries both begin today in Cafe Remix!

People are still on this nearly 10yrs on, huh? 😵‍💫

I was never really a fan of the artstyle of Ash in SM (he got hit the hardest, literally everyone else looked fine), but I do think the art change was necessary to fit the overall atmosphere of the Alola region--as cool and clean as XY/Z (really just the modernized version of the original art) looked, the art just didn't really suit Alola.

Alola was really chill up until the time you start getting to Po Town and the Ultra Beast plot:

There's no League or Gyms at first, the main quest is just the traditional coming of age journey kids undertake in the region, not really some quest to be the best like usual.

The main rival is perhaps our friendliest yet. He mostly just wants to snack on malasadas and make his grandfather proud of him.

The apparent villains are some disaffected kids and a dude who became a meme literally upon his introduction. They don't really have a grand goal aside from disrupting the island challenge, compared with every team that came before escalating the threat they posed. (I figure most of us probably called the twist with Aether, but it's a "what we as the player know vs. what our player character knows" situation.)

The general feel of the region is the player is on a fun, island-hopping vacation adventure with the new friends they made since Hau and Lillie stick pretty close to you the entire journey. Ash himself was initially even there on vacation.

Playing thru Alola, it was obvious to me why they changed the art, so I never really minded the change that much. (And I think it helped that I wasn't really watching for Ash himself at that point, it was Lillie who had my investment that series. 😅)

A Summer Concert mini-event has been announced for Pokemon GO! They’re celebrating the music composed by Junichi Masuda, series composer! Each day from Jul19 to Jul22 from 5-8pm, local time, players will be able to listen to a special arrangement of in-game background music made up of tracks selected by Junichi Masuda himself.

I was always fine about the reveal since there was actually some basis for it in XY. Sycamore hypothesized it was born of the Ultimate Weapon, so those evolutionary stones that became Mega and Key Stones were getting infused with the energy of suffering and dying Pokemon.

Just 11 days left till we get our next news drop. I wonder what other new characters will be revealed, if they'll corroborate the rumors or debunk them. (They got Emma's description right, but I'm still skeptical of how much is actually true.)

Anyway, the next battle pass comes Jul18 in Pokemon UNITE, and adds new Holowear for Gyarados and Mamoswine.
