Empathy means:

You see someones pain and hold space for it without absorbing it

Showing compassion without losing your own peace or self sacrificing your mental health

Being there without feeling responsible for their healing

It doesn’t mean:

Making their pain your responsibility

Tolerating disrespect because you understand or losing yourself trying to save them

Letting someone else’s pain drain you
