i've been enamoured by @jadegreenbun 's selkie zag posts and i had to try my hand at this because it's been living in my head rent free. i haven't drawn in like 3 months and it got me out of my funk so i'm happy \qvq/

quick change, he finds his sealskin alongside persephones goodbye note in a chest

hades selkie au

all the characters are human at least partially save for persephone, she is a selkie

hades is the king of some seaside kingdom

persephone and hades meet and she lives on land with him for a while

upon zagreus birth he appears to be stillborn

persephone, heartbroken and overwhelmed, runs to the sea and doesnt come back

nyx manages to revive him by soaking him in seawater

his sealskin is taken from him at a very early age and hidden away

he is never told about persephone or his power, and is kept away from the sea as much as possible, scarely even being allowed to leave the castle grounds

one day he discovers the truth about his mother and what she was, and resolves to find his sealskin and go to the sea to find her

idk how the olympians fit in yet LOL
