Hi,
Sorry, no chapter today, seasonal depression and other things have been kicking my ass all day every day this week. I meant to post this yesterday as a forewarning, but well. Obviously I couldn't do even that. Hopefully next week will be better.

Fanfic Progress Update 167
Heyo, people! Another busy and tiresome week has passed and it's Saturday again. I need the sun to come out and also for days to have more hours in general, please and thank you. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for How to care for your doctor at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
How to care for your doctor
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary: Taking care of Doctor Robotnik is literally Stone’s fulltime job, but sometimes it requires more creative thinking than usual. What’s a little bribery, threats and potentially blackmail between a doctor and his assistant if it means healthier life choises?
Progress: Chapter 3 was posted on 29th of February. The fourth chapter is 1/3 written and will be posted on 7th of March, assuming I get it done on time. Chapter 5 hasn’t been started yet. The fic will be six 1k-ish word chapters.
—–
Labor with a side of lattes
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary:
“Wanted: a yesman who is capable of operating an espresso machine, has at least a higher IQ than your average amoeba, and is willing to put work before having a personal life, or indeed a life, period. The extra in your pathetic paycheck is good, but the strain in your psyche will make up for the positives. Forfeit your basic human rights and apply today if this sounds like you.“
Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria’s pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.
Dr. Robotnik, huh?
Progress: This one will be part one of a two-parter longfic, the first part probably… 10-ish chapters? It’s a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change - will probably end up being increased tbh. My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.
I have the first five chapters done. Chapter 6 is almost done now. No progress this week, because I was busy most days and chose to use the writing hour for Care for Doctor instead, cause it's more urgent.
I also have two halfway written chapters that don’t yet know their exact placement within the fic (they’re scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once the fic is ready for them.)
—–
Other WIPs I’m not currently working on but intend to get back to Someday™:
PoE Drabbles (Pillars of Eternity)
DC Drabbles (Justice League)
Diaphanous Relations (Forgotten Realms, R.A. Salvatore’s books)
Rolling with it (Zelda: BotW)
Hah, our afterlife is the most hilarious bushwa, dearest! (Hazbin Hotel)
—–
That’s it for the WIPs! Here’s the promised sneak-peek into How to care for your doctor (Note: the text may end up slightly different in the fic itself due to more editing happening before publishing). Enjoy!
In the doctor’s defense, this type of thing was rarely an issue. When it was, it was typically easily solvable by just removing the protective outer wear that was worn to avoid this specific scenario. Lab coats, coveralls, work gloves, heavy duty boots, goggles, hazmat suits, helmets… their lab was equipped with all the proper gear anyone in the industry could ask for.
They might not pass a HR check when it comes to proper workplace relationships, or the ethical side of the doctor’s experiments, but they would pass safety regulations with flying colours any day.
Well, most days anyway. Some days people outside of their department were deliberately placed in harm’s way, but as long as there was no concrete evidence and the government needed the doctor’s genius, there was nothing anyone could do about it.
Safety was not the issue that day, however.

That’s it this time. See you next Saturday!

To be fair, sometimes the bad life choices weren’t directly the doctor’s fault. Sometimes it just happened that the local weather forecast said one thing, but the higher ups moved the presentation to another city on the same day and the weather was drastically different than anticipated there.
Say, conversely, that the weather at the headquarters was sunny and warm, but the new location a couple of hours north was cloudy, windy, and unreasonably cold.
The only bright side was that it wasn’t raining anything. Stone was very careful to not voice the thought out loud or even think it too loudly.

The doctor was at his bullshit again.
Mind you, Doctor Robotnik was brilliant. He was the smartest man in the world, at least as far as Stone was concerned. He was talented, resourceful, productive and the US government’s greatest asset by far. He was also handsome and stylish, but that was definitely Stone’s biased opinion.
He was also an idiot, sometimes.
One of those times being when he procrastinated on uninteresting projects to the point where they were suddenly due and he had to scramble to get them done. He skipped breaks, refused to eat anything that wasn't bite-sized and thus easy to shove in his mouth between tasks, and of course the cherry on top was the all-nighters.

Hi, this week brings better news ;) Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for How to care for your doctor at the bottom of this post!

Stone had just about had it. Doctor Robotnik had been cooped up in the laboratory for almost a week without so much as cracking open a window and taking a deep breath before it. He hadn’t attended any meetings – only one had actively been skipped; thankfully there hadn’t been more scheduled – hadn’t gone home for the night, and certainly hadn’t taken Stone’s advice to go stretch his legs and catch some fresh air. No, the doctor had gotten stubborn about finishing a project ahead of schedule “to show them all”, and had opted to eschew any distractions and disregard any concerns about his health in order to expedite his progress.
It was time for an intervention.

Fanfic Progress Update 163
Hello, posting very early today, because I won't have the time later, and honestly barely have the time right now. That also means that I'm actually going to have to skip today's writing hour, so no progresss for Latte Labor this week.
Don't expect anything next Thursday, but if the situation changes, I'll post a sneak-peek here on Wednesday.
Current WIPs:
How to care for your doctor (workname, might change)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary (temporary): Five times Stone mother-henned the doctor + one time it was the other way around.
Progress: Woop, a new thing! I have the first segment potentially ready, or at least at a spot where I could end it if I wanted to. Might still expand and write a second scene for it. I'm leaning towards making this a chapter fic with short chapters, just so I'll have something to post sooner and for a longer time. So, will probably be six short chapters, but we'll see. At least this has been started now, I'll just need to make more precise plans when I'm not in a hurry like I am right now. -----
Labor with a side of lattes (formerly known as "Life at the laboratory". Now the title isn't as boring and also vibes properly with the title of next part of the series)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary:
"Wanted: a yesman who is capable of operating an espresso machine, has at least a higher IQ than your average amoeba, and is willing to put work before having a personal life, or indeed a life, period. The extra in your pathetic paycheck is good, but the strain in your psyche will make up for the positives. Forfeit your basic human rights and apply today if this sounds like you."

My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.
I have the first five chapters done. Chapter 6 is half written. No progress this week :(
I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once the fic is ready for them.)

Other WIPs I’m not currently working on but intend to get back to Someday™:

Okay, hi! (Again) I, despite all the false hope you give me, *insert melodramatic victorian sniffle*, still wish for something this Thursday. I'm loving the fic ideas you have going on! Great job <3
Unfortunately, no fic on Thursday :C I did manage to write myself out of the corner tho and have 600 words of the 5+1 thing written now -and the segment isn't even finished yet! - so there's that :D

Fanfic Progress Update 162
We've finally reached the point where I don't have anything to post next week :O Hopefully you guys won't have too severe withdrawals. I mean, technically I *could* start posting Labor with a side of lattes (formerly known as Life at the laboratory), but I don't want to have to start hurrying the writing progress. It's one thing to have a short fic where the end is in sight and I can plan the writing around that, and another to wrestle a longfic and publishing it at the same time. I don't currently have the drive for that hassle, so I'd rather just write it slowly but surely and without the stress.
I do have a list of Stobotnik fic ideas that I've been eyeing. I even started writing one thing (boils down to "five times Stone mother-henned the doctor + one time it was the other way around"), but I managed to write myself into a corner within two paragraphs and stopped XD It was frustrating and fascinating at the same time; that's gotta be a record of some kind. I'll need to scrap that and start over, and we'll see where it goes. However, I doubt it'll be ready by next Thursday, seeing how currently it's just two failed paragraphs. I'm thinking of it as a oneshot of unknown length (I'd assume min 3k words, but who knows at this point), but everything is still in the air. If the scenes turn out to be any kinda substantial length (like at least 1k words each), maybe it could be a chapter fic with six short chapters? Who knows at this point. That'd buy me some time to write Latte Labor in the background at least.
Another thing tentatively tickling at the back of my brain is a Hazbin Hotel fic, Radiohusk of some level. I'm thinking of a fix-it of a scene in episode 5, to put it simply. Making it a bit less harsh, then a scene of the aftermath, then, well, not gonna reveal more, in case I write it. However, I want to wait until next Friday before I make any decisions about this one, because I want to see what the final episodes of this season bring with them before committing to a course.
I'm also eyeing Bushwa again, might just go ahead and finish the last chapters for it. I actually have one that's been written ages ago and is sitting there waiting for the rest before publishing. Another one was like, half-written, I think? And I think I had a third in mind. I'd have to actually read the things to remind myself. If I end up doing this alongside with Stobotnik stuff, I'll be posting on Tuesdays (Hazbin) and Thursdays (Stobotnik).
So, that's the current sitch. Don't expect anything next Thursday, but if the situation changes, I'll post a sneak-peek here on Wednesday.

Fanfic Progress Update 161
So, Hazbin Hotel was effing NOICE :D Didn't inspire me to write so far, but we'll see how this brainrot progresses. Currently I'm at the stage where I watch the musical parts 15 million times a day, the next stage is usually reading fanfics written by others, and the next one is writing if I fail to find what I'm looking for or just feel like it. Again, we'll see. On other news, stay tuned for the last sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
A Sign that you're important
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary: One month upon his assigment as Doctor Robotnik's assitant, Agent Stone is told to learn sign language. He doesn't know why, and isn't suicidal enough to ask, so he simply rolls with it. Turns out, it's not just a whimsy of the eccentric doctor, even though that doesn't stop the doctor from utilizing it like one.
Progress: Chapter 5 was posted on 18th of January. The last chapter will be posted on 25th of January aka the next Thursday. Chapter 6 is a bit over halfway written, so cutting it a little close here, but I'll get it done in time. The biggest problem will be the chapter title tbh. I have a placeholder title (the old title for chapter 5 actually), but it's not perfect, so I'll need to brainstorm at some point, which is hopefully not on Thursday right as I'm posting it XD;

Maybe it would have been better if he had never been able to talk with Knuckles. He could have just dropped the renegade red rascal at the hedgehog’s home to do whatever it was he had assumed Knuckles wanted – he had assumed punching, ripping some quills, and moving on, if he had had to hazard a guess when he had been unable to hear – and been none the wiser about the Master Emerald. He could have been content about the hedgehog getting some much deserved use as a punching bag and moved on with his own plans. Getting to Stone, kissing him silly, freshening up, eating actual food, getting a good night’s sleep in an actual bed (preferably with Stone in it), getting acquaintanced with the cafe lab, and making plans for further actions in the morning. Plans that likely would have involved checking up on the hedgehog to see if there was anything left to salvage in the wreck for science, and whether further revenge was necessary. Getting to his secret lab. Considering negotiations for his re-employment with the government – he had done nothing wrong, he had been acting on their orders to find out what had caused the blackout and he had been given the leave to deal with it in any way he deemed necessary.

Fanfic Progress Update 160
Hello, I'm Tired, how are you? I hate January and February, the give me bouts of seasonal depression and that ruins my groove. I'll manage tho. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Progress: Chapter 4 was posted on 11th of January. The fifth chapter will be posted on 18th of January aka the next Thursday. Chapter 5 is finished and ready to be posted. I'll need to do a chapter 6, cause Robotnik really, really wanted to wallow and be gay for Stone for a full chapter, mostly at the same time too. Unsure if chapter 6 will be full length or basically a half-length epilogue, we'll see.
-----
Life at the laboratory (I'm starting to not like this title, might change it)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

I have the first five chapters completely written. Chapter 6 has been started.
I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once we get Stone settled in.)
-----
Other WIPs I’m not currently working on but intend to get back to Someday™:
PoE Drabbles (Pillars of Eternity)
DC Drabbles (Justice League)
Diaphanous Relations (Forgotten Realms, R.A. Salvatore’s books)
Rolling with it (Zelda: BotW)

Turned out, even super advanced hearing aids didn’t take well to getting jostled around like maracas at the speed of sound by a hedgehog, getting blasted through an interdimensional portal they hadn’t been tested for, and crashing loudly and violently into Toadstool Tartarus. In fact, the left one went into tinnitus mode and the right one simply shut down completely. It made crawling out of a crashed aircraft much worse than it already would have been by default.
Once he was out and had enough distance to not get blown to smithereens or showered with shrapnel should his aircraft decide to explode, both hearing aids were promptly removed from his sore ears.
“This will put a damper on whatever plan I will begin hatching as soon as I get my bearings”, Doctor Robotnik said to himself, already hating the likely long lasting silence, especially when that included his own voice.

Howdy hi, it's 2024 now and that's kinda weird, tbh. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Progress: Chapter 3 was posted on 4th of January. The fourth chapter will be posted on 11th of January aka the next Thursday. Chapter 4 is finished and ready to be posted. Chapter 5 is 1/3rds written and... well, I might have to write a chapter 6 purely out of "I don't think everything I had in mind will fit in this chapter actually", but we'll see. Might just write a longer chapter instead, depends. Or I'll cook the planned ending of this chapter into an epilogue. So many options.
-----
Life at the laboratory (I'm starting to not like this title, might change it)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria's pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.
Dr. Robotnik, huh?
Progress: This one will be part one of a two-parter longfic, the first part probably... 10-ish chapters? It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change - will probably end up being increased tbh. My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.
I have the first four chapters completely written. Chapter 5 has enough words to be done, but the scene isn't finished yet, so it's still a work in progress. It's close to done tho; I'll probably finish writing it after I'm done with this blog.
Hah, our afterlife is the most hilarious bushwa, dearest! (Hazbin Hotel)
-----
That’s it for the WIPs! Here’s the promised sneak-peek into A Sign that you're important (Note: the text may end up slightly different in the fic itself due to more editing happening before publishing). Enjoy!
As shocking as finding out about the doctor being deaf was – and it had been, Stone had completely forgotten about it being a possibility and had just embraced the normalcy of the lab crew using sign language Just Because, so finding out about the hearing aids had left him reeling for the rest of that night – the life at the lab returned back to normal eventually. Eventually, because as ashamed as Stone was to admit it even in the privacy of his own head, he had absolutely treated the doctor differently for a good week or two at first.
He had found himself speaking louder and clearer a couple of times, until he caught himself doing it and adjusted back to his normal volumes, mentally berating his own idiocy. If the doctor had noticed, he had gracefully let it slide – which meant the doctor probably hadn't noticed, because he wasn’t known for being graceful nor letting things slide. Not that he was known for not noticing things either. It was a mystery that Stone was happy to leave as such, if it meant he avoided getting yelled at for defaulting to ableist bullshit.
He had also found himself unconsciously making more noise when he was approaching the doctor out of the field of his vision. He actually hadn’t caught himself developing the habit until the doctor complimented him for it, of all things.

That’s it this time. See you next Saturday!

Fanfic Progress Update 158
Hello, peeps! The last Saturday of the year 2023 and thus my last post of the year. Wild. So let's see what I've got here, and then I'll see you again on 2024! Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
A Sign that you're important
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse

Turns out, it's not just a whimsy of the eccentric doctor, even though that doesn't stop the doctor from utilizing it like one.
Progress: The latest chapter aka chapter 2 was posted on 28th of December. The third chapter will be posted on 4th of January aka the next Thursday. Chapter 4 is almost finished. This fic will most likely have five chapters, maybe six if I get epilogue-happy or smth.
The Christmas hassle really cut into my writing time, ngl. Let's hope chapter 5 practically writes itself when I get to it so that I can keep up with the schedule nicely and perhaps get new things cooking. Or maybe just focus on Lab Life, I'm starting to feel self-conscious about writing everything but my "main project", even tho that's by design.

I have the first four chapters completely written now. Chapter 5 is 3/4ths done. Let it be known that this chapter is difficult to write, because it involves so much research for things that nobody else will even care about and are basically just background details (actually, that applies to this whole fic tbh). It would be so much easier if I was less of a stickler for details, lol XD As a sidenote that's actually not relevant to this particular chapter, I'm failing miserably at learning to do latte art. The milk foam just turns into milk with hard whip on top. I need to invest in better equipment and fattier milk and give it another shot. The magic tricks I learned in my Hazbin fic research were so much easier >.>
I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once we get Stone settled in.)

Robotnik let out a deep, exhausted sigh of relief upon the hotel room door closing behind him. Finally, finally the mission was as good as over, with only the paperwork and hopefully avoidable in-person debriefings left, and those were tomorrow's problems. Tonight, all that was expected of him was sleeping, and after days of planning, organizing, and finally the careful execution of the plan he was ready to give his brilliant mind a much deserved break.
"Stone, unpack the bags, order something edible and light from the room service, and ignore any and all messages and calls from the government", he said, taking off his outdoor clothes while his assistant worked in the background. He wanted a shower to wash out the sweat, grime, and the faint smell of a musty warehouse.
As soon as Stone had his pajamas laid out on his bed, he snatched them up and claimed their en-suite bathroom for himself. He couldn't get out of his nasty day clothes fast enough, and after taking out and carefully laying his hearing aids on the edge of the sink – as far away from the danger of falling in as he could manage with the limited options at hand – he hopped in the shower and let the warm water wash out the grime and stress in the blissful silence.

Fanfic Progress Update 157
It's Saturday, so you get updated on the fic writing. Happy Holidays, btw; over here we celebrate it tomorrow rather than on 25th, so I'm almost free from this hassle. Stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
A Sign that you're important (previously named I'm Signing in the Drain)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary: One month upon his assigment as Doctor Robotnik's assitant, Agent Stone is told to learn sign language. He doesn't know why, and isn't suicidal enough to ask, so he simply rolls with it. Turns out, it's not just a whimsy of the eccentric doctor, even though that doesn't stop the doctor from utilizing it like one.
Progress: The first chapter was posted on 21st of December. The second chapter will be posted on 28th of December aka next Thursday. Chapter 3 is finished. Chapter 4 has been started. This fic will most likely have five chapters, maybe six if I get epilogue-happy or smth.
Let's hope I can get an adequate amount of writing for this one done despite the Christmas hassle, cause I really don't want to panic-write the last two chapters on the week of posting them. ...I say, like I don't have three weeks to write chapter 4 at this point. But listen, I'm also making eyes at a next idea I have in a little list of ideas, like juggling two fics isn't enough. Tho in my defense, Lab Life is quietly writing itself in the background and doesn't count, especially if I can manage to queue up another fic after this one (I'd really prefer if Lab Life was fully written before I post any of it, because then I'd have lots of time to get started on the sequel while it keeps the readers fed). I'm gonna be so fucked when Hazbin Hotel airs and I might end up double-fandoming :D

As far as meetings went, Stone was usually patient and attentive. This time, however, he was certainly in agreement with the doctor that this particular meeting was honestly boring and pointless, and it wasn’t just Robotnik’s “hating meetings” -thing. The only reason the two of them had to be attending at all was because Robotnik had a presentation of his own to add to the collection that was happening right then, which meant that nothing the other people said was actually relevant to their jobs or worth listening to – they were just waiting for their turn. There was nothing interesting going on, and it was made worse by the people presenting their points doing it in the least interesting way they could and droning on and on and on about their projects.
Stone was, quite frankly, contemplating the merits of pretending to get a phone call and leaving the room to take it and then simply not coming back after. The only reason he didn’t was because the doctor would murder him for leaving him to suffer alone. The torture that came first would make this bore of a gathering seem like a cakewalk in comparison, and then end with his mother grieving for her dead son. It was probably better for his career prospects to stay. Or he could take the window instead, this was the seventh floor, it’d be a swift end and he’d avoid the torture part…
His morbid ways of self-amusement were interrupted when the doctor – sitting on his right – suddenly moved. More precisely, his hands un-steepled themselves from the table and started forming words.

Fanfic Progress Update 156
Saturday! Last Thursday I posted the final chapter of Keep the Cuddles Platonic -challenge, so now it's time to start hyping up a new fic. Let it be known that I'm glad I've been getting this much writing done for this fandom, so I can keep a continuous weekly posting schedule for now at least. Ofc I can't promise to keep this up forever, but the next fic in the line will have five chapters minimum, so that's five more weeks of steady content before any slowing down or breaks need to happen :D Anyway, stay tuned for a sneak-peek for A Sign that you're important at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
A Sign that you're important (previously named I'm Signing in the Drain)

Progress: This fic will most likely have five chapters, maybe six if I get epilogue-happy or smth. The first chapter will be posted on 21st of December aka next Thursday. Chapters 2 and 3 are also finished. Chapter 4 hasn't been started yet.
You'll be happy to know that chapter 2 is longer than my usual chapters. Well okay, Cuddles Challenge had a chapter length of about 1,500 words, which is shorter than my usual, so you'd be eating better with this fic anyway. My usual length is roughly 2,000 words, for the record. The second chapter in this one is 2,700 words at this time, and will likely get slightly longer upon further editing, so woop! And to think it started as a few paragraphs of a summarized event in chapter 1, smh. Would have been such a waste. This is why I edit things thoroughly before even thinking about posting.

Progress: This one will be a two-parter longfic, the first part probably... 10-ish chapters? It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change - probably increased tbh. As you can see, I actually made up my mind now and decided that this will definitely be two fics instead of one big fic. It's neater that way, the tags for the two parts are drastically different, so it just makes sense. My weekly writing hour (as in, a specific hour when I sit down and write, no excuses [other than not being home]) is devoted to this fic.

It had been exactly one month and one day that Agent Stone had been working as Doctor Robotnik’s assistant. From what he had been told, it was a new record – the previous best had been two weeks and one day, and then the doctor had told the assistant that her work performance hadn’t been up to his standards and she was fired. Stone highly doubted those were the exact words, but it was the official, recorded reason, so that was that. Regardless, that same two weeks and one day mark had long passed now for him, so Stone had every reason to believe that the doctor had decided to accept his presence on a permanent basis as long as he kept up his current work standard.
That belief felt immediately threatened when Stone stepped into the laboratory and found the doctor waiting for him at the door. That had never happened before and the fact that it was at the beginning of the new month felt too much like “two weeks and one day” to Stone’s comfort.
“Good morning, doctor”, Stone said with a smile, not letting his nervousness show. “Do you require assistance with something?”
Robotnik grinned at him, lifted his hands up between them and… signed something to him.

HELLO AGAIN :D So yes, I just CANNOT wait for the last chapter of Keep the Cuddles Platonic- but also cannot wait for the next fics you're talking about to be posted! Have a great day/ night!
Day after tomorrow :D
I might need to come up with a new name for I'm Signing in the Drain, because I feel lowkey silly naming the entire thing after basically just one chapter (pivoting point or not), when it has like... a lot more than just that going on for it now. I'm thinking of giving it chapter names too, so that I can still use that name somewhere XD (spoilers: I'm going to hate myself for this decision, it's tough enough to come up with the main title, and it's plain masochism to name the chapters, too.)
I'm thinking along the lines of "A sign that -insert something funny/clever/aww-" for the new name for the fic, but we'll see.
... A sign that he cares? A sign that you belong? A sign that you're heard? A sign that your heart is heard?
...I just came up with a name for the second half of SBLF, holy shit. It has nothing to do with the names above, for the record. Not telling either.
I need to stop rambling :D Have a great day!

Fanfic Progress Update 155
I'm so glad it's Saturday, this week has been exhausting because of a Christmas market I participated in today - so much baking and other preparations. Anyway, stay tuned for the last sneak-peek for Keep the Cuddles Platonic -challenge at the bottom of this post!
Current WIPs:
Keep the Cuddles Platonic -challenge
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary: Doctor Robotnik is simultaneously touch averse and touch starved, which results in a plan to "get the touching needs over with" in the most efficient way he could think of: cuddles overnight, when he wouldn't be doing anything useful anyway. Agent Stone was not privy to the plan until they arrived at their hotel room for their business trip.
Progress: Chapter 4 is the current latest chapter and was posted on 7th of December. Chapter 5 is finished and will be posted on 14th of December aka next Thursday, and then this fic will be officially done!
-----
I'm Signing in the Drain
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary (temporary): Not many people know this, but Doctor Robotnik is actually deaf and uses hearing aids to make up for it. Agent Stone does not know this, he just kind of assumes he's told to learn sign language upon being assigned for some other, mysterious reasons, and not as a "just in case" measure.
Progress: This fic will most likely have five chapters, maybe six if I get epilogue-happy or smth. The first chapter is now truly finished, as I fixed the ending to my liking. A new second chapter appeared because of a thing I removed from the first chapter but didn't want to ditch, so now it's in the process of being fully expanded on to be the second chapter. It's about 1/4 done. The old second chapter, now the third chapter, is finished now too.
I'm actually positive I can spin this into full on Stobotnik, because now I have a clear vision of how to go about it :D Also, I need to pick up the slack with writing this, because this will be the next in the line to be published unless some random oneshot(s) appear to fill in between Cuddles and this one to buy me more time. ...Not a word about how I could just write a chapter of this one in the time it'd take me to write an entire-ass oneshot >.> Shh, just be happy if you get more fics!
-----
SBLF (workname)
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog, movieverse
Summary (temporary):
Wanted: a yesman who is capable of operating an espresso machine, has at least a higher IQ than your average amoeba, and is willing to put work before having a personal life, or indeed a life, period. The extra in your pathetic paycheck is good, but the strain in your psyche will make up for the positives. Forfeit your basic human rights and apply today if this sounds like you.
Maybe it said something about Agent Stone - and probably not good things - that the poster in the cafeteria's pin board piqued his interest more than any of his official assignments had for a good long while.
Dr. Robotnik, huh?
Progress: This one will be a longfic, probably around 20 chapters. It's a bit hard to estimate at this point, so the number is subject to change. Or most likely I'll cut this into two fics in a series, because quite honestly, it's two stories in one package (that is, half of it is pre-canon and half post-canon.) My writing hours will be devoted to this fic.
I have the first four chapters completely written now. Chapter 5 is not yet started. I also have two halfway written chapters that don't yet know their exact placement within the fic (they're scenes that will be slotted in to wherever they feel natural, once we get Stone settled in.)

Diaphanous Relations (Forgotten Realms, R.A. Salvatore’s books)
Rolling with it (Zelda: BotW)

Stone woke up at his usual time, two minutes to seven, without any aid from alarm clocks. Not that he had an alarm set for that time anymore, since his work started at ten to accommodate the doctor’s hatred for mornings, but years of habit and him being a morning person were hard to train out of.
Stone stretched as much as he could while being weighed down by Robotnik sleeping on his chest, then looked down at him with a fond smile. As usual, the doctor had his head tucked under Stone’s chin, was holding him loosely around the chest, and had their legs all tangled up together. He had not so much as stirred by Stone’s movements, so used to this arrangement by now.
Stone observed the sleeping doctor’s mess of a hair in the morning sun that was peeking in through the small gaps in the venetian blinds. He could see hints of auburn red at the roots and mentally added black hair dye to the shopping list. Why Robotnik hated his natural hair colour was a mystery to Stone, but he looked forward to helping him with the dyeing process anyway.

*clears throat* ahem. First of all, I've returned from my trip to outer space. I'm bringing some nachos to the picnic, if you'd like? Anyways, love the fics you've got going on, all three of them. Robotnik and Stone's dynamic is just perfect, and I love how you write it! Hope I'm not bothering you with these messages, have a nice day <3
Welcome back! I hope you had a nice time and that the aliens were the right amount and flavour of friendly. Nachos sound good to me, always down for nachos :9
Thank you<3 Heh, so basically...
Jadeile: I just thought you might want a fanfic with fluffy and cute Stobotnik?
Flowerpot: Who do I look like, an imbecile? Of course I want a fanfic! I love the way you write them! >:O
