Sim Shadow Fix

This mod fixes Sims’ shadows shown as black rectangles. Originally, correctly rendered Sims’ shadows have a blue tint. This mod makes the shadows achromatic. You may use this mod even if your game has no problems with rendering shadows.

Update (2 Jan 2016): Added the reallyNotMisty version. See the known bugs section.

The mod also works with The Sims: Life Stories, The Sims: Castaway Stories and The Sims: Pet Stories.

There are three versions which differ in the opaque (see the screenshot below) – choose only one.

Restoring shadows

You probably have turned (Sims’) shadows off, when a problem with black rectangles occurred. To make this mod useful you have to turn them back on. Here’s how to do it: In the game, set the Lighting setting in Graphics/Performance Options to high. If you still cannot see Sims’ shadows, in Graphics Rules.sgr (in [Latest EP/SP folder or basegame folder if you don’t have any EPs or SPs]\TSData\Res\Config) find option Shadows. This is what you’d see:

You have to delete boolProp simShadows false and boolProp simShadows off from userStartup.cheat (in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 (or The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection)\Config) too, if this file exist and these lines are in it.

Known bugs

Sim shadows overlap and cut simetimes, but it isn’t caused by the mod.

If you have downloaded simNopke-simShadowFix0.# and Sims’ shadows in your game are misty, try out simNopke-simShadowFix0.#reallyNotMisty instead. That bug may occur on some Intel HD graphics cards.

What’s a Sims 4 LEPacy?

A Sims 4 LEPacy* is a legacy-style challenge focusing heavily on the content and features of the expansion, game, and stuff packs. It’s so easy to fall into a rut while playing and miss out on what individual packs have to offer. The LEPacy dares you to explore all the things you’ve ignored!

*This challenge is based on my Sims 3 LEPacy Challenge. However, anneliesembsims has put a lot of thought and care into adapting the original challenge into Sims 4 AND keeping it up-to-date. Please check out their “Sims 4 LEPacy” rules post here. As far as I am concerned, it is the original TS4 LEPacy Challenge and mine is simply a variant.

The primary goal of each generation is to fulfill an aspiration or achievement you haven’t done before–and, of course, to find a way to carry on the family name to the next generation.

The number of generations you’re aiming for is up to you. There are 20+ generation options offered in this post. A standard legacy challenge is 10 generations, but feel free to do more or less. Definitely do them in any order you prefer. Really, it’s your choice! Remember, your focus should be on exploring what you haven’t done before, doing what interests you, and having fun.

Generation options are grouped by theme and include goals and suggested packs to focus on. These are not set in stone. Use these as guidelines to create the generation you want to play.

Inspired by the lighting in the film Frozen, I created a new lighting mod! I wanted to do something fairytale-esque, so voila begin the testing <3

Five different possible sunset and sunrises; pink, orange or red ones will appear.

Cotton ball clouds appear in the non-aurora version (otherwise cotton ball auroras would appear, so only available in non-aurora version!)

Updates & improvements ~ Skins, body presets, eyes & makeup sliders

Hello! This turned into a bit of a project, but it was worth it! ( ^ヮ^ )۶ In short, I’ve updated skins to be more HQ and makeup to work with the new sliders, as well as made some dependent files standalone & improved all body presets.

Skins & skin details

Technically different: Before, CAS textures were created as compressed DDS (RLE2), while now the game & Sims4Studio has switched to uncompressed DDS (LRLE).

Visual changes: All my updated skins & skin details look much smoother and higher quality.

Note: File sizes are larger.

Body presets

Technically different: Body presets were re-made using Modifiers rather than Sculpts. Thumbnails have been re-made using these beautiful mannequins by WMS. Presets’ slider values have been adjusted.

Visual changes: You can now change freely between all of my body presets. Presets that are made with Sculpts can get “stuck” on the sim after you’ve applied it once, but this bug is now gone. The thumbnails are more clear & generally they just look and work better.

Note: I don’t think the game will recognize any of them (except maybe Serena) as the same file, so if your sim already uses one of my body presets, it will have to be re-applied.

Eyes

Technically different: Textures have been re-exported and re-imported using the new LRLE format.

Visual changes: My Moony eyes now override all eye swatches, and my Crybaby eyes are finally available as defaults, too.

Note: Bigger file sizes.

Makeup

Technically different: Textures changed to LRLE.

Visual changes: All sliders (opacity, hue, etc.) available for all makeup.

Note: Bigger file sizes.

Second pregnancy went super fast and it was time to give birth again.

She gave birth to a twins again. Baby #3 is called Alicia and baby # 4 is called Ben. Yet another boy and girl twins, which is pretty cool.

Objective

Your objective for this challenge is to give birth to 100 children in as few generations as possible. The challenge ends as soon as the 100th child is born or if you fail the challenge for breaking rules.

Updated the 3D lashes HQ

I updated the 3D lashes HQ version. (4096 pixel textures) Added new lashes the same as normal (non-HQ lashes) version. Also,I converted ‘Uncurled Eyelashes Edition’ to HQ version.
