Al-Husayn b. Ahmad b. Idris (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Abu Sa`id al-Adami narrated to me. He said: Al-Hasan b. `Ali b. al-Nu`man narrated to me from `Ali b. Asbat from al-Hasan b. al-Jahm. He said: I asked al-Rida (as); I said to him: May I be your sacrifice! What is the limit of reliance [on Allah] (tawakkul)? So, he said to me: To not fear anything besides Allah. He said: I said: What is the limit of humility? He said: To give to the people of yourself that which you would like to be given. He said: I said: May I be your sacrifice! I would like to know – what is my status in your view? So, he said: Look to what my status is in your own view.

VIRTUES OF THE QUR'AN
The Holy Imam Hassan Al Askari asws said: 'It has been narrated to me from
my father Ali Bin Muhammad asws from his father Muhammad Bin Ali asws from his father Ali Bin Musa asws from his father Musa Bin Ja'far asws from his father Ja'far asws Bin Muhammad asws ‘The Truthful’ from his father ‘The Splitter of Knowledge’ Muhammad asws Bin Ali asws from his father Ali asws Bin Al Husayn asws ‘Adornment of the Prostrators’ from his father Husayn asws the ‘Master of the Martyrs’ from his father the Commander of the Faithful asws, the Chief of the Trustees, the Caliph of the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds, the Differentiator of the Ummah and the Door of the City of Wisdom, and the Trustee of the Messenger of Mercy, Ali asws Ibn Abi Talib asws, from the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds and the Chief of the Messengers, the Guide of the Resplendent and the Exclusive Honourable Intercessor on the Day of Judgment saww said: 'The reciters of the Holy Quran are in the exclusive Mercy of Allah azwj, are clothed in the Light of Allah azwj, the teachers of the Quran asws are the near ones to Allah azwj, and whoever befriends them asws has befriended Allah azwj and whoever is inimical to them asws is inimical to Allah azwj ,and keeps away the afflictions of the world from the attentive listeners of the Quran, and keeps away the afflictions of the hereafter from the reciters of the Quran. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad saww, the one who listens to one Verse from the Book of Allah azwj, and is firm in his belief in what has been revealed from Allah azwj to Muhammad saww to be true in all his saww statements and wise in all his saww actions, and whatever that was given to him saww was all handed over to the Commander of the Faithful Ali asws, and has belief that he asws is obedient to him saww in every order of his saww, then this person will get more reward than the one who donates a bag of gold in charity but does not hold this belief. The one who recites one Verse of the Quran whilst holding this belief, is better than the one who is the owner of all that is from beneath the Throne to the bottom of the earth and donates it all as charity in the way of Allah azwj but does not hold this belief. In fact, this charity of his will be an affliction for him.' Then he saww said: 'O people! Do you know when the reciter and the attentive listener of the Quran will get this great reward? This will be when they do not add anything from themselves to it, for this is a Glorious Word, nor do they hold back anything from it, nor do they eat (earn wages) from it, nor read it to show off.'
And the Messenger of Allah saww said: 'For you the Quran is a beneficial healer and a blessed medicine. For the one who associates himself with it and is obedient to it there is salvation, the one who does not pervert it and does not deviate from it, its wonders will not cease for him, and does not create numerous arguments. And recite it, for Allah azwj will give ten rewards for each of its words recited. This is not to say that for the recitation of 'Alif Laam Meem' there will be ten rewards, but there will be ten rewards for 'Alif', ten for 'Laam' and ten for Meem'.
Then the Messenger of Allah saww said: 'Do you know who are those that attach themselves to this great honour? These are the ones who take the Quran and its explanation from us asws the People of the Household asws or from those intermediaries (narrators of traditions) who are between us asws and our Shiites, and not from the disputers or those that indulge in analogies. And if someone speaks from the Quran by his opinion, and even if by coincidence turns out to be right, he will still be ignorant in that he took it from the wrong source. This is like the one who goes on a journey on a dangerous road without any protection and by mere coincidence arrives safely, he would still be condemned by the people of intellect, but if he gets devoured by dangerous animals then he would be condemned by the people of intellect as well as the ignorant common folk. If he were to make a mistake by his opinion in the Quran then he will have taken up residence in the Fire. His example is that of the one who sails in the ocean without a navigator, or the correct ship. There will be no one who hears the news of his death but will say that he was deserving of the destruction.'
And he saww said: 'There is no blessing that Allah azwj has Bestowed upon His
servants after their faith which is higher that knowing the Book of Allah azwj and its explanation. And the one who has been fortunately blessed by Allah azwj ,and then thinks that someone else is more fortunate than him, has degraded this Blessing of Allah azwj towards him.'

Salaam Alaykum! I was just wondering why use the word 'bakri' when referring to our brothers from Ahlul Sunnah? Isnt this a bit offensive/derogatory? Wouldn't it be more of the morals of Rasool'Allah (SAW) and the Ahlulbayt (As) to refrain from using any labels that they may take offense to, even despite being called rafidah by some?
Wa alaykum as Salaam!
I use the term “bakri” bc I want to separate the truth from the falsehood. You have to keep in mind that when we call them “Sunnis,” it in turn suggests that they follow the “sunnah” of the Prophet (SAWS), were as we the Shia don’t, and this is not true. They don’t follow the Sunnah of Rasulliah (SAWS). They follow the “sunnah” of Abu Bakr (LA) and Umar (LA), hence the term “Bakris” (followers of Abu Bakr) or “Umaris” (followers of Umar). So in this way, using such terms is more accurate.
And idk why they would be offended by these terms? I mean if someone calls me a Rafidhi, or a Shia of Ali (as), I’d be elated, as its my honor to be associated with the one I adore and love. So likewise, if they love their caliphs so much, why would they be offended? Also, don’t they themselves refer to themselves as “Hanbalis” or “Hanfis” etc, based on which of their “Imams” they follow? I mean, if they will name themselves after their Imam, then what’s the issue with naming them after their caliphs? Plus, they raise there beloved caliph’s status at the expense of Rasulillah (SAWS) anyways, so we already know who they love more…
And lastly, just to prove the fact that, by us calling them “sunnis,” we further mix the truth and falsehood. Just ask any non muslim the following question, “Who do the Sunnis follow and who do the Shia follow?”
They will reply by saying, “The sunnis are those who follow the Sunnah, or way of the Prophet (SAWS), while the Shia follow Ali (as).” And this is 100% false, bc we follow Imam Ali (as) BECAUSE he followed the Sunnah of Rasulliah (SAWS)! You tell me, who followed the sunnah better than Imam Ali (as), and who innovated and deviated from the Sunnah more than Umar and Abu Bakr (LA)???
So in this sense, if we start using terms like, “bakris” or even terms like “the opposers,” as is used by our classical scholars in our classical books, when referring to bakris, we will help make known that the bakris don’t hold claim to the way of the Prophet (SAWS).
Wa Salaam

What is it with the son of Adam and pride?! His beginning is a sperm and his end is a filthy corpse. He cannot sustain himself, nor can he repel death.

Reward of wearing cornelian (Aqiq) ring
1. Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who wears a cornelian ring on his finger will never be needy and his desires will be fulfilled in the best way.”
2. It is narrated that a person from the progeny of Abu Talib (a.s.) was ordered to be arrested by an unjust ruler. While going towards the ruler, he happened to meet Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.). Imam said, “Give a cornelian ring to him.” The order of Imam was obeyed and a ring was given to him. And because of this, he didn’t have to face any harm from that unjust ruler.”
3. It is narrated that Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) saw a person who had been whipped. Imam said, “Where is his cornelian ring? If he had been wearing that, he would not have been lashed.”
4. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “Cornelian is an amulet in journey.”
5. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his ancestors that Amirul Momineen (a.s.) said, “Keep a cornelian ring in your hand so that Allah gives you abundance and you remain safe from calamities.”
6. A man complained to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) about highway robbers. He said, “Why didn’t you wear a cornelian ring? It protects one from all evils?”
7. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) said, “One who wears a cornelian ring in his hand will continue to see goodness till the ring is present in his hands and will always remain in the protection of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime.”
8. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that: “One who wears a ring inscribed ‘Muh’ammadun nabiyyullaahi wa a’liyyunw waliyyullaah’ Allah will save him from unpleasant death and he will die a natural death only.”
9. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “No hand raised in front of Allah is loved by Him more than one which has a cornelian in it.”
10. Imam Reza (a.s.) said, “One who seeks sustenance through cornelian will get a huge share.”
11. Imam Musa Kazim (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that Imam Husain (a.s.) said, “Allah created Musa bin Imran and talked to him on Mt. Sina and looked at the earth with mercy and created cornelian with the light of his face and said, ‘I swear by Myself, I have made it obligatory on Myself that I will never punish with fire (of Hell) one who wears cornelian in his hand and is the lover of Ali (a.s.).”

Rafi’ slave of Ayesha (la), narrates:
I was a young boy serving Ayesha (la), and when RasoolAllah (saw) was with her, I used to serve them.
One day, while RasoolAllah (saw) was sitting with Ayesha (la), someone knocked at the door. I opened the door and it was a maid with a covered dish, so I went back and I told Ayesha (la). Ayesha (la) told me to bring her in. She came in and put the dish in front of Ayesha (la), and Ayesha (la) put it in front of RasoolAllah (saw). So RasoolAllah (saw) started eating from the dish and the maid left.
Then RasoolAllah (saw) said, “I wish Ameerul Momineen, the Master of Muslims (Syedul Muslameen), and the Imam of the pious (Imam ul muttaqeen ) was here eating with me.”
Ayesha (la) said, “To whom are you referring that has all of these titles?”
RasoolAllah (saw) did not answer. Then he repeated what he said.
She (Ayesha la) asked again, “To whom are you referring that has all of these titles?”
RasoolAllah (saw) did not answer. Then someone knocked at the door and I (Ayesha la) opened it. It was Ali (asws) ibn Abi Talib (as). I went back and told RasoolAllah (saw), and he said to bring him in.
RasoolAllah (saw) said, “O Abul Hasan (asws), welcome. I wished for you twice. When you did not come, I asked Allah to bring you for me. So sit down and eat with me.”
Then Ali (asws) sat down and ate with RasoolAllah (saw). Then RasoolAllah (saw) said, “O Ali (asws), may Allah fight those who fight you, and may Allah be the enemy of your enemies.”
So Ayesha (la) said, “Who will fight him and be his enemy?”
RasoolAllah (saw) replied to her, “You and those with you. You will accept fighting him and will not refuse it.” RasoolAllah (saw) repeated this twice.

Aban says that Sulaym said: “I heard Ali (AS) - He was saying to the leader of Jews: “How many sects have happened amongst you?” He replied: “This many and this many.” Ali (AS) said: “You have told a lie.” Then he turned to people and said: “By God, if a cushion is kept for me I would make a judgment based on their Torah among the people of Torah and on their Injil amongst the people of Injil and on Quran amonst people of Quran. Jews have become 71 sects - 70 sects from them will be in Hell, 1 sect will go to Heaven and this is the one that obeyed Yush’a ibn Noon, the trustee of Musa and Christians are divided into 72 sects. 71 from them will go to Hell and 1 in Heaven and this is the one who obeyed Sham’un, the trustee of Isa (AS). This Ummah will have 73 sects - 72 from it will go to Hell and 1 will go to Heaven, and this the sect that obeyed the successor of Muhammad (SAW). He then his hand on his chest. Then he said: “Out of 73 sects, 13 all of whom connect themselves to the love Muwaddah for me - of these 1 will go to Heaven and 12 will be in Hell.”

(The book) ‘Al Illal Al Sharaie’ – ‘Majaylawiya, from his uncle, from Al Barqy, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Suleyman, from Dawood Bin Al Numan, from Abdul Raheem al Quseyr who said,
‘Abu Ja’far (asws) said to me: ‘But if our (asws) Qaim (asws) were to rise, Al-Humeyra (Ayesha) would be returned to him (asws) until he (asws) whips her the legal punishment, and until he (asws) avenges for the daughter (asws) of Muhammad (saww) , (Syeda) Fatima (asws), from her’.
I said, ‘May I be sacrificed for you (asws)! And why would he (asws) whip her the legal punishment?’ He (asws) said: ‘due to her fabricating upon Umm Ibrahim (Mariah)’. I said, ‘How come Allah (azwj) Delayed it for Al-Qaim (asws) (to do so)?’ He (asws) said to him (me): ‘Because Allah (azwj) Blessed and Exalted Sent Muhammad (saww) as a Mercy and will Send Al-Qaim (asws) as a nemesis’’.

The Prophet (SAWA) said,
‘There are eight categories of people whose prayer is not accepted: the slave who has escaped from his master, until he returns to him; the defiant wife whose husband is displeased with her; the one who withholds payment of the alms-tax; the one who neglects to perform the ablution; the discerning woman who prays without covering her head; the leader of a community who leads them in prayer while they detest him; the intoxicated one; and the one who resists the urge to urinate or defecate [before commencing the prayer].’
