the only thing i can say about abused poets society or whatever the album is called, is that it's all MIDi

#taylor swift #the tortured poets department #for those who aren't music regulars:#midi is the term for synthetically developed instruments #i havn't listened to the full album (because its 30 fucking songs) but i have yet to hear a REAL instrument #usually when listening to small artists i give this a pass because renting bands and recording studios is hella expensive #but taylor has enough money to pay for an entire country to learn a musical instrument and be her band for all eternity #so it really just comes off as cheap and mass produces #especially the batshit insane decision to use a midi CHOIR as the FIRST note of the entire album #like girl #every producer and music student in the world knows that sound by heart because its the WORST midi across the board #there can be good midi instruments #drums for example tend to be fine as midi #but using a midi choir patch as the first not is actually psychotic #sorry for the rant but oh my GOD #i need people to stop pretending she and her producer are geniuses #theyre mass producing content you fools!#music #music nerd #producing
