Years later, Cassie is a new woman and often looks back on her teen years with regret at how selfish she was, so she decides to go back to East Highland (that is the name of the town, right? Or is that just the school? lol) to make things right with the ones she hurt. Her heart breaking as she sees the two ppl she betrayed the most (Maddy and fem!ex!r), are together and happy.

Maybe Maddy is angered that Cassie thought it'll be an easy fix by just saying sorry and how happy she was that her and yn were together but because time had changed both women, she doesn't go off like she would've when she was younger??

You walked hand in hand with your fiancé, Maddy. Laughing alongside her and talking about nothing in particular when you saw a familiar face. Cassie Howard. You hadn’t seen the blonde girl since you graduated high school and she moved away for collage.

Things between you, Cassie and Maddy didn’t end well in high school and memories of Cassie’s betrayal began to flash before your eyes.

Flashback

You had been dating Cassie for six months now and your best friend Maddy had been on and off with Nate for over a year.

Every Friday night the four of you would go on double dates, until Cassie and Nate started canceling on both you and Maddy.

It was suspicious and when you started catching on, they stopped making excuses as to why they couldn’t go out, but in return, they would disappear for hours after dinner on Friday. No phone calls were returned, neither of them were active on social media. It was all a little too weird.

You couldn’t sleep at night, thinking of the worst possible scenario. Cassie and Nate were sleeping together behind yours and Maddy’s back.

You picked up the phone one Friday night a few hours after getting home from dinner and a few hours of calling Cassie and Nate’s phone only to be met with the voicemail, to call Maddy and tell her about your suspicions.

“I think Cassie and Nate are hooking up,” you said through the line. “Think about it, they both disappear every Friday night after dinner and before that they were both cancelling every Friday night.”

Maddy sat up in her bed, mouth wide open. “Bitch, I think you’re right!” She exclaimed.

And so the both of you came up with a plan to catch them in the act next Friday night and prove your suspicions once and for all.

Friday came around, dinner was finished and an hour later you met up with Maddy. The both of you driving to Cassie’s house, hearts racing fast as you knocked on her front door. Lexi greeted you at the door.

“Is Cassie here?” You asked.

“Or Nate,” Maddy replied, arms crossed over her chest.

“No…” Lexi furrowed her eyebrows. “Cassie told me she was staying the night with you.”

You and Maddy shared a glance, you thanked Lexi and hopped back into the car, driving over to Nate’s place. His truck was in the driveway.

Maddy grabbed the spare key from a plant pot by the front door and shoved it inside the lock, your eyes widened, grabbing her wrist.

“We can’t just break in,” you said.

Maddy rolled her eyes. “Please, his dad isn’t home and his mom is a drunk. They won’t even know,” Maddy said. “It’s either this or find a way to climb up to his bedroom window. Your choice.”

You looked around and nodded. Maddy smirked, twisting the key and opening the front door. The two of you walked inside, you grabbed Maddy’s hand, following her up the stairs and to Nate’s bedroom where muffled moans could be heard.

Maddy clicked her tongue, a wicked smile over coming her face. “Their fucking alright,” she said, grabbing the door handle and pushing the door open to reveal the sight.

Nate balls deep inside of Cassie, your eyes widened, a frown on your face.

“You dumb fucking bitch, I’m gunna fuck you up!” Maddy yelled, running into the room.

You spent the next half an hour holding Maddy back and calming her down before convincing her to leave. The both of you deserved better and you found better. It hurt the both of you like a bitch and you spent days crying with each other over the betrayal you had experienced, until eventually you both fell in love.

End flashback

“Is that Cassie Howard?” Maddy asked, squinting her eyes.

“Yep,” you sighed, watching the blonde girl as she smiled at the pair of you. Her eyes fell onto your intertwined hands, her smile faltered for a moment as she came to a halt in front of the pair of you.

“Maddy, Y/N,” Cassie smiled. “How are you?” She asked.

“Fine,” Maddy replied, eyeing her sheepishly. You stayed quiet, your grip on Maddy’s hand getting tighter.

“You two are together?” Cassie asked.

Maddy lifted her left hand, showing off the engagement ring you had bought her a few months back.

“Oh, wow. Congratulations,” Cassie said, clearing her throat, looking over at you. “Look, I just wanted to say sorry for everything that happened when we were teenagers,” Cassie sighed, looking down at her feet.

“Are you still with Nate?” You asked.

“No,” Cassie said, frowning at you.

Maddy snickered, Cassie’s eyes snapping over to her. “You ruined years of friendship for a guy who ditched you in the end,” Maddy smirked. You nudged her, silently telling her to stop.

“I’m sorry,” Cassie said. “Can’t we just put it in the past and be friends again?” She asked.

You stared at her dumbfounded, so did Maddy. “You fucking destroyed us, obviously it was for the better in the end,” Maddy began. “It baffles me that you think a simple i’m sorry will make up for everything that you put us through.”

“Sorry Cassie, but we’re not ready to forgive you yet,” you said. “See you around,” you smiled, pulling Maddy away from the blonde girl and continuing on your walk.

Maddy looked over at you. “I love you,” she said.

“I love you too,” you smiled, kissing her cheek.

Cassie watched the both of you as you walked off, hand in hand, longing looks full of love. She wished she had that with you. Cassie had ruined the best thing she ever had for a guy who didn’t care about her once high school finished. She was regretful and jealous.
