What Happens Next

It's time to start the editing phase of Aufest this year, and it's time to look at what we want the event to be next time. While you edit, we have some polls for you!

First: the question of if we change up the yearly event schedule. The mod team enjoyed battleship a lot, and we've seen a lot of people excited to do it again! We see two options for this: either we can keep it as one of the AU Fest options, meaning that it would be part of the poll that is going up in the next post, and then if it wins the poll battleship would take place around the same time next year and have AUs as the premise, or we could rearrange our yearly exchange cycle. Our current plan for this is that we would move Battleship to the spring exchange slot (normally when we hold @mcytrecursive), have @mcytaufest in the summer as a separate event, and then move Recursive to the late fall, where it would then replace @mcytblrholidayexchange.

eee hi I have a enemies to lovers kinda racing au that's ever so slowly being worked on, like its been sitting there so long Mani and I have changed it from a 24 hour le mans one to I think a more standard F1 with life series members as other teams. I got a couple things on my tumblr

also working on a Jurassic Park au behind the scenes that'll have scarian and jimango :] I haven't talked about it yet because I want to finish an artwork I'm working on first

Explosion !! Tada ! Doing some draft ideas for the Sahara team now that I'm out of con hell and I'm back into hermitcraft and the life series. The ConCorp car and fireproof can be found here along with the original Joel and Etho artwork from an AU.

The car has been giving me hell because it was rather tricky for my brain to turn the company building into a vehicle without it looking too silly, so yes this has been in my drafts for a few months now.

The fireproofs also took longer than it should have, but! I'm happy where I am now until I can think of anything better (and some more Tango and Jimmy related shops to add as sponsors 😔).

My submission for @mcytblraufest this year! A pirate style au with Grian and Scar. I decided to do something that left a lot to interpretation, and boy did the authors working with me go all out to make some great fics with this prompt! They've done great and you should totally go read their amazing works. I left a small comment saying that I could add wings if need be to the original submission artwork, and it's bonkers to see the authors grab that and absolutely run with ideas.

First is the writing duo of @masque-of-plague and @spadeyhearty whose idea to go in such a random direction to anything I'd try to think of was awesome to watch come together.

And second is @luminaryaerii also with another idea I hadn't even thought of.

These three have done such an incredible job, I won't spoil much with the plots but I 100%%% recommend you read them.

Summary: Jimmy Solidarity is an ordinary guy. He goes to his grad school classes during the day, works at the campus library in the evenings, and neglects his friendships a little too much. Then, engineering student Tango enters the library for some help, and Jimmy finds his friend group growing, and his life inexplicably changed.
