Something I’ve noticed about myself is I find it difficult to objectively go back and re-read something I’ve done ( usually if I’m writing a follow up ). Whenever I do go back and look at a finished story I can’t see it as that finished story, I can still see all the things that might have been there but were never written, the things that were there and got taken away, and the things that got added along the way.
I can see the nips and the tucks and the seams, which, if I’ve done my job well, should be invisble to absolutely anyone else that reads it …

I always knew writing a story like ‘Magic America,’ set in several different time periods would be an interesting challenge and a new way of doing things, but so far I’ve got to say I’m enjoying it, even if getting things to sync up can sometimes fry my thought process a bit …

In Volume One of ‘Magic America’ we followed Jesse and Tom pretty much exclusively but with Volume Two it’s not just their story anymore, it’s a lot more that road trip kind of vibe I originally thought Volume One would be but then wasn’t. It’s much more of a group thing too. We learn more about the other characters as the story expands …
