Inspired videos pics for my video
So this video is made by my friend Tommy. He is very unique with what he does and wears and isnāt afraid to push the boundaries. He wears a fair few skirt and very baggy items that he has made himself. As what I made was a dress I know that I can incorporate a large jacket over it to make the shoot seem abit more interesting. Considering that Covid has made us very house bound and made us have to use our initiative for what we have I think using a few extra pieces to make things look that little more interning shouldnāt be a problem.

Comparison of final to draping
Here I have a few pictures that were a draping task more towards the beginning of the course. These were a good insite to start flowing ideas for the dress and how I can adapt them further. They also were a good template for when I was to draw up some rough sketches of some dresses as my first mock ups.
From my original to these there are bits that are very similar that I think my mind subtracted some ideas from. As seen in the first two I used the same undershirt that I did in my final piece. I knew I wanted something dark as those materials look better on me so I set out with that route. As it is gray it really sits well with the black and gray used in my final. As Iāve spoken about a few times and I may sound like a broken record but Iām not happy with my final piece, but it did follow similar steps to what I did with the draping task, it just was a little more adapted and thought through as the draping task was spontaneous. My original ideas were very different to the final out come and it ended up just looking like the draping task but with a little more thread.

Overcoming problems and improvising
So throughout the project things were made difficult for us all with lockdown and what we could use. Facilities and items were limited but we had to make use of the best of what we had.
So here I have my first original sketches, theyāre nothing special but it gave me an idea of what I was atleast aiming for when I went into crafting the pieces. But I knew the creating wouldnāt go to plan as I shall explain here. The bottom half I used a bed sheet and in my mind I didnāt realise it had an elastic band circling the bottom of the sheet to keep it close to a mattress. At first I thought this is a right mare, but after some observation and thinking I realise maybe I could create a different bottom half to what I entially planned out. I noticed I could loop the sheet around itself multiple times making these open areas. I decided I could make a main hole for my body, then the rest for the look. Simply cutting a hole in the bottom of the hole for the body I could manage to slink it around myself. All it took was some pinning and tacking and I was set. Once Iād done this I knew that the elastic loop for the body hole could be tight enough to just sit round my hips with no support of the zips. So originally it was meant to be one piece but ended up being two.

Now I then drew up an final drawing that I did after finishing the dress. This was to show how much it changed over the duration of making it. As I say Iām not the happiest with my work and in all I feel abit embarrassed to show it. Itās not something that I particularly am proud of or how I want to show myself or my work neither my potential. So what has been done really feels like the minimum but thereās nothing I can do about that now.

MARS evaluation:
This project was certainly an interesting one from the project itself and the global pandemic restrictions. For all Covid has made it hard to push work and to keep ontop of being motivated to complete tasks from general life to work. For me staying motivated for other things as well had college has been a challenge for me, but for now I wouldnāt say Iāve tried my best as I know I can do better, itās just digging up what I know I have in me to ensure I can complete things to the best of my ability. In a opposite world I would loved to been able to gather the strength to stay ontop of things mentally with this project but I didnāt, for my FMP itās new and something fully knowing itās at home no in and out situation. Especially learning from my past mistakes with the MARS project I can ensure that I can create something to the best of my ability for FMP.
As said I didnāt stay ontop of things as much as I wish I did or should have. A fair few tasks wearnt completed due to lack of motivation and encouragement, Iām not saying this for pity as thatās not what I want but itās something I should have improved on as a note to self. I would say Iāve learnt from these mistakes last time and I feel motivated to keep a schedule and on top of tasks.
As for the making itself I learnt a few techniques from my mother. It was good to experiment with these and see what works and doesnāt. As Iāve learnt this whole process is learning and adapting ideas further and that nothing always goes to plan. I had many great ideas from get go - some of them stayed and some didnāt. The ones that did I donāt think I completed to the best of my ability but I tried none the less. It was my first piece and even attempt of making a garment so a learning curve rather then anything. Did I use the best of what I had? Yes and no, with the techniques that I knew and items given at hand yes mentally getting on with it and ensuring I donāt put too much pressure no. To work as well as at home as you would on campus takes a lot of strength and motivation and I know I have that in me. But for anything it takes the mental state aswell as what you can do physically to create the best of the task. Iām now telling myself I can and will be the best me for this FMP and show to everyone and mostly myself I can put my thoughts to paper and to physical form imaginatively.

Here is my final dress. Itās not Best it couldāve been but in the end for my first piece this is a good starting pointļæ¼. Considering that I have not ļæ¼attempted many processes this is an good in site to learning processes and what does and doesnāt work. For me this could have been made significantly better at college with more help and the facilities there. Itās also as a atomosphere a lot more encouraging to create something better and new.
For the actual dress I used an old elasticated bed sheet for the bottom half and a old gilet for the top. Using the star sewing stitches to keep the folds in shape I manage to structure a good shape to the whole top. I also used Velcro straps under so youāre able to undo it there instead of having to be put on over head. For the bottom using the sheet I could make these interesting tight shapes with loads of layering as the elastic provided that for me. All it took was some simple stitches to keep these areas in place to create a chaotic shape to the whole thing. The whole ideas with zips went out the window a lot and I only put one on in the end.
Short analysis:
Overall Iād say I done average. Again as said I think I couldnāt really thrive to the potential and using all my ideas for when we were in college effectively. At home I really lacked motivation for things to get started or branch off as much as I could with creative thoughts. I think itās tough for many of us right now to really get things into gear with this but for my fmp I have things planned out and Iāll ensure I can use whatās at hand to the best of my ability.

Here are some of the most effective water art pictures I took. I used food colouring and some of these were so cool especially the first two came out so clean and really had volume. For the second blue one what I noticed was that the blue dye once settled was heavier than the water so it sat at the bottom of the glass. So I decided to drop the blue in on already settled blue so it added more to the picture. My favourite two colours were the blue and red, with the red being really blood red and looked so nice when using the flash on it. I then decided to try mix some colours which didnāt really work as well but was worth a try.

BALMAIN RUNWAY
BALMAIN is an obvious world known designer brand. They specialise in runway and some of their fits are very inspiring. They can use so many varieties of techniques and looks as being BALMAIN they have many designers who work for and with them.

This first piece is uses in a way layered draping. Also uses a grid sort of style which also relates back to Piet Mondrian and his grid angled work. So considering what could be expanded with my pieces could be certainly interesting.

This is another piece which also links the paradox Paris. This is from the paradoxes one piece that has has patch work that threads off the main frame of the clothing. As seen on the bottom half of the dress this is expressed. Not the extent of the paradox work but it makes it less of just an object and adds dimension I feel to a piece.

Paradoxe Paris @paradoxparis insta
Paradox is an amazing brand Iāve been following for a while now. They make amazing trousers and bags that are creative and new. The designer uses techniques that Iāve never seen before that I completely love and as soon as I have money for a pair I will not hesistate to grab myself one.
Their name comes up in my mind for this project as I feel their work perfectly fits into the forte of the multi verse. They use explosive colours, along with techniques that really express this. Unfortunately if I could do use this style considering Iāll be at home I am not sure, maybe if I was in college I could have learnt the tequniques and further devolp this. But regardless this is most defiantly something to keep in mind for future creations.

FREDRIK TJĆRANDSEN
Frejerik to me is an amazing creative fashion artist who isnāt afraid to really show the extent of what creative art decor can span to. Now wearing his work out and about is would certainly be interesting, but on a run way to me would be so cool. Defiantly personally I love to express myself in unique ways and seeinf someone really thinking outside the box with his work inspires me heavily. Who knows what went through his mind to first think of this but Iām sure he is very thankful for this wacky spontaneous idea.
He won the L'OrƩal Professionnel Young Talent Award and his works momentarily went viral, reported on by Vogue, W Magazine, WWD and i-D Magazine. Before graduating he worked at Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga in Paris. He is a Les Visionnaire scholar. All of these I really think he deserves, his work would really be appreciated for years after he passes on and inspires this generation to be me so much more creative with how they think.

Alberto selveso
Seveso has created a name for himself as the pioneer of the ādispersionā technique, a deconstructed rendering technique where he takes pictures of faces and bodies and blends them with vector patterns. He is drawn to peopleās portraits, especially faces and expressions and enjoys, in a sense, giving people a new face. His process starts from black, and then adds vector objects to the image. āBasically, this face sort of creates itselfā, he says. He is now a featured artist of Adobe Photoshop and is his unique style can be found on the cover image he created for Adobe Photoshop CS6.
His passion for graphic art started in the early 90ās when he became fascinated with the skate decks and CD covers for metal bands. Heās always been creative, and many years ago started playing with the first graphic design softwares just for fun. Not knowing how to draw pushed him to express himself with other tools. From here, he started combining his digital art and photography to create his own unique style, combining the real and digital worlds.

Diego bellorin
I think Diegoās work is very unique and funky, he experiments with layering colour shapes and textures. To me this is art that I admire but couldnāt create. It is simple yes but just not my cuppa tea. But donāt get me wrong, just because I didnāt enjoy designing my own variation of his work doesnāt deny the fact his work is great. It stands out to me and maybe if I was to do it again Iād use more planning into this.

De Stijl
The De Stijl movement posited the fundamental principle of the geometry of the straight line, the square, and the rectangle, combined with a strong asymmetricality; the predominant use of pure primary colors with black and white. The Netherlands-based De Stijl movement embraced an abstract, pared-down aesthetic centered in basic visual elements such as geometric forms and primary colors. ... De Stijl's influence was perhaps felt most noticeably in the realm of architecture, helping give rise to the International Style of the 1920s and 1930s.
To me I love that this movement took place. It really shows that anything can be art in a sense. In my mind these things like right angles exist, so why canāt they be artistically used? Why are curvature lines in painting more used and seen as more artistic? In a way it makes sense as you can use curves and squiggles in a infinate array of movements, so this allows and artist to work with more detail and make something more unique. Where as using straight lines and 90° angles you can only go so far, but this shouldnāt make it not an artistic style. So I am very glad this was explored so early and seen as one of the greatest art movements in history.

Mondrian
Piet Mondrian, a painter, was an important leader in the development of modern abstract art, primarily through the Dutch art movement known as De Stijl (āThe Styleā). His mature paintings use the simplest combinations of straight lines, right angles, primary colours, and black, white, and gray and possess an extreme formal purity.
When I did my work I tried to base it on his. This is because something catches my eye with his work, wether this be the colours he uses or the simplicity of it. As Iāve repeated simple art is what I enjoy most, itās what speaks most to me. So seeing Mondrians work and making my own variation - which granted could have been better - I think defiantly takes more of an appeal to me than other artists such as van gogh or De Vinci.

This is my work inspired by De Stijl. I tried to sample my work off his as theyāre simple and still artistic. As when I done my graphic work on my last years course I realised that I work best designing simple art. I feel first of all I canāt detail art overly as itās not in me to do that, simple art attracts me more as a person also. Unfortunately the graph paper I used wasnāt white so it had a weird green tinge to it, which I would change next time to be plain white. Or maybe even next time if done on a computer graphically it could look a lot nicer and cleaner.

This is the tracing paper layered drawings. To do this I just used one colour based on each page. When layered back over eachother it makes a cool final piece. For me this wasnāt the best as I didnāt use all the layers efficiently. I feel that this activity didnāt sit right as drawing like this isnāt my particular interest but I still had a go and made something interesting.

I drew some light sketches some based off the experimental clothing work with the clothing we brought in and some are inspired by fashion runways and general imagination. I feel this connected well with me for first sketches as it let me expore ideas from my head to paper. I doubt I will use any of the examples in my final piece but it let me experiment and see what ideas would look right for this. I tried to keep the garm examples with over hangs and parts that flourish from different parts that look like they shouldnāt be there. As said these were my first general sketches so nothing too detailed or to judge off here but was more of a learning experience.

Star sign un fold work
For this we used card to create pieces of art that are inspired by Joan Miró and Pablo Piccasso. Using paint and cut out images to create work that related to their work and to do with the stars and universe.
Now personally this really didnāt work for me, I only managed to do one side and not very successfully. I think this was a good workshop but for me it just didnāt click and I didnāt really secede in making a full final outcome. But this isnāt shade on the workshop as it wasnāt a bad one, but for some reason it just didnāt work for me to use these different factors together.
I can see how the concept of this relates to MARS. Many people consider star signs and the the sky as an insight to future, and some even religiously believe things to do with them. The work Picasso created in the 1920s of the diagrams were the original inspiration for my ideas of creating this, I tried to make the tips of the lines the joining points for the string. The string here and there it worked but it fell apart a few times which was frustrating, but it worked in the end. I defiantly would next time invest more time and effort into it, but this time it just didnāt work out.
The parts I did do wearnt all round terrible just not as amazing as they could be, I think they were lacking in areas in mass so it looked a little plain. Next time though if I could maybe use a plan of action to stick to as I found myself at a bit of a stand still a few times. So next time I focus on just one idea and work and expand on it off there.
