Due to the recent Covid 19 guidance from the Prime Minister. Being in Tier 4, we will have to remain closed for both the shop and postal work, until we go back to a Tier 3 status. Whilst off work during lockdown 2, I found lots of old videos we had, mostly of family footage, xmas and birthdays etc... but I did also find some of my dad in the first Manchester shop he had on Corporation Street. I am pretty sure it's around 1980, which would have made my dad 38, the same age I am now ! He owned a Super 8 Cinefilm camera, which was the first type of affordable 'camcorder' of that era. I've not been lucky enough to find any suit fittings going on with customers, it's mainly back room with the tailors he had at the time and just general banter😉👍 The main chap in the video was a tailor called John Doyle, who was a very talented Tailor from Ireland. My dad passed on skills he learnt from John to myself which I still use today. Anyhow, thought I would post the short video up and I do intend to edit it all into one long video for our YouTube channel. Such a gent and they both spent a good few hours just talking about the old days in Manchester, Blinkers night club, bars, pubs, boutiques he ran and football of course ⚽️ Great memories.
