And, yep, S&D are strutting around the ring, taunting the crowd. Just bad sportsman in my opin-Wait...do you hear..what is that? Is that theme music? Who's song is that? Wait.. is that? General Conference Doodles 4/5/2025, Saturday morning session
I already made the Tokyo Temple into a giant robot, and there are only four (LDS) temples in Japan, so I figured I might as well get cracking on the other 3. Here’s the Fukuoka Japan Temple with a giant sword.

Sometimes I think about how arguably one of the major themes in the New Testament is to listen and believe women.
The first act of the New Testament is believing Mary when she explains the immaculate conception.
Women were trusted to preach the good news that Jesus rose from the dead.
The woman caught in ‘adultery’ (which some scholars believe was non-consensual) was spared.
The woman at the well is arguably the first person to go out of preach in the name of Jesus.
All this to say: Women are meant to be listened to. They are meant to preach. They are meant to be equal, not subordinate.

fun fact: if you come onto my religious posts bemoaning when other mormons make additions, im blocking you. you see, quite simply, im mormon. my posts are for mormons. other people for sure can look at my posts but theyre not my intended audience. dont walk into the circus and wonder why there are clowns, and dont walk into a mormon blog and wonder why there are mormons.

I love when non-Indigenous americans get whiny about people calling for the death/collapse/etc of the united states like as a country cause the thing is that. Like. Well you see... the nation of usamerica isn't... synonymous with People Living Here. You get that, right. I know I know somebody from the global south posted something mean about your beloved burger country but I'm with them on this, actually. "America" doesn't have to be here. I also want to see it destroyed within my lifetime. Ooh your position of relative privilege is being threatened ooooh 👻

As much as the church needs to excise its bigotry and toxicity, and should not tolerate certain bigoted types of belief, I absolutely agree that one of the great powers of organized religion is to bring people together in the common pursuit of bettering themselves and lifting up one another. They can bring people together from backgrounds who otherwise would not meet. We are all needed parts of Christ's body. Your unique perspective is vital.

to my fellow lds/Mormon/ex Mormon/limbo-Mormon friends, please, for the love of all things holy, listen to Native people.
I cannot iterate this enough: the Book of Mormon will not teach you about Native people or Native history. Period.
only actively seeking Native people and their art, work, culture, etc then listening to it and interacting as you are allowed to will do that.
it is so so important to acknowledge that the BoM will teach you about Mormon faith and cosmology, it will teach you about Joseph Smith and the religious and moral questions he was asking, it will teach you life lessons like any religious text will. It will not teach you any sort of comprehensive or accurate information about Native people and their lives.
Find out whose land you’re on. Enroll in a beginners language class if you can. Support Native businesses. Go to Native events that are open to non-Native people. Promote Native voices. Educate yourself. Stand up with Native people when they want and need support.
I have a lot of love for Mormonism. It’s the religion I grew up in and I still am fascinated by the cosmology and doctrine. I think it has a lot to give, and I am not saying this to shit on Mormons.
I’m saying this because the sooner people acknowledge the racist foundations of this religion the sooner they can hold both the good and bad in their hands and try to promote the good. Imo, we cannot fully love a religion until we acknowledge its faults and actively work to stop them from causing more damage. Hold the contradictions close to you and acknowledge their existence. Don’t look away from them. Please.
As far as I know there isn’t a single religion in the world that is perfect, that has never incorporated racism into its doctrine, and that has the ability to define another group of people better than they can define themselves.
so please, listen to Native people.
#obviously this applies to everyone but I’m Feeling a certain sort of way about the narrative about Native people the church has sold#and the fact that a lot of Mormon friends I have definitely fall into a “noble savage” pit trap frequently#mormon#queerstake#tumblrstake#might get flamed for this but idc at this point#if there are any Native folks who have critiques for my wording or this post feel free to comment or dm me#just let me know and I’ll edit#Also if you’re Native and Mormon I wish you all the joy in the world and your beverage of choice

i love when people on here well be like “who DOESN’T want their blood to get sucked ? 🤨” well i hate to break it to you but the average person does not, in fact, want to have their blood get sucked. statistically there is a large amount of people who do not want this to occur. this is shocking and appalling, i know. the world is full of unsettling things
