Do you plan on making the rest of the jjba part 5 gang as pins?

(I am a firm believer in not separating Bruno & Leone. My Bruno pin is lonely lmao)

Hi sorry I did not know how to use Tumblr and did not see this for God knows how long! I don't plan to make the rest of pt 5 characters as enamel pins but I made some of them as wood pins too (Abbacchio, Trish, Fugo, Nara, Risotto, and Prosciutto) thank you for getting Bruno!

warhorse was like what if two people's personalities developed in such a way as to make them so completely and undeniably well-suited for each other that, even following a rough and rivalry-inducing introduction, they recognized the self in the other swiftly & fiercely, and did so to such a profound and intimate degree that they overcame an extreme social class barrier (feudalism) right at the start. what if they so clearly saw each other as humans (in both positive and negative aspects) that a 2-day isolation dissolved their ability to see or care about social rank line between them and the ensuing friendship shocked them both into maturing themselves and their worldviews out of a state of immense unhappiness (stagnation for one and recent extreme trauma for the other). what if they rapidly caught up to adulthood together after a sluggish and prolonged adolescence and through their companionship discovered what it means to love and be loved in a mature way. what if they indisputably became each other's person and gave each other purpose that grew beyond the bounds of the relationship to make them better people independently, more responsible and less reactive and more empathetic, and from that personal growth came self-understanding and self-forgiveness that could only have led to a genuine romantic love unbarred by gender roles and religious instruction and derived from friendship and care rather than chase and artifice. what then

I am SO EXCITED TO SHARE THIS!! I collaborated with @putrecabra who lent their phenomenal lineart and absolutely lovely designs for this wood burning project!

This piece is meant to celebrate the joy and warmth of summer while keeping the lingering fingers of death at bay--or, hell, inviting it along as you dance with that dearest heart which gives you so much life ❤️‍🔥 ⚔️

Once again, I cannot thank @putrecabra enough for working with me on this; all the energy and heart of this comes from their drawing, I just burnt it onto a slab of wood and died a little as the paint for Hans's pants came out too dark LOL

This piece of wood was pretty large so I had to print the lineart on two sheets & figure out the best way to seamlessly stitch em together. I chose to split it in a point that wouldn't be TOO bad to fill in the gaps myself in case it ended up not lining up in the end but thankfully it ended up working out.

It was also a lot more difficult than I was anticipating to place it, and I pretty much had to do it blind and hope for the best :^) Using the lamp actually helped a lot lol

Once it was taped down SECURELY over a large sheet of carbon paper (made absolutely sure that sucker wouldn't move) I then traced the entire drawing

AND LOOK FOR FORTUITOUS THE PLACEMENT WAS!! I adore the little dots from the wood that exist almost exclusively by Hans & Henry's heads (and the one that stopped perfectly at the line of his forehead), and that the knot in the middle is framed by the negative space between the but doesn't touch their hands at all, and most of all I love the ominous crack that slices across Henry's belly LOL hopefully that isn't a premonition, but I like how it adds to the subtle macabre of this drawing

Then the burning. It's a lot like drawing with ink & also watercolor at the same time, and some times the heat itself just refused to work with me and made sloppy lines, but I shant focus on those parts :'^)

Do I regret adding this much color? MAYBE

Should I have stopped while I was ahead? PERHAPS

But at the end of the day I am still v happy with this!!
