With the high fashion, exclusive lookbook I had a clear vision of what I want it to look like, so my development was just about bringing that vision into life by using the right textures, colours, shapes and photos.
The zine-style lookbook was a little bit more challenging. At first I spent a week carefully putting all the best images together so the layout would 'flow', but after seeing it printed I decided against it. The viewer would be more likely confused than drawn in and charmed because there was simply too much going on.
I decided for much more simple layout with one, maximum two photos per spread. The images themselves are strong enough to stand out on their own and rather than using the parts of the poem again I split the lookbook into five looks, each with their own description.

GUESS campaign
The fun and flirty poses and very fifties but sexy styling are all part of the success of the Guess campaign by Ellen Von Unwerth. They caught my eye so much that I wanted to style and photograph a campaign for Guess myself. Overall there was two photoshoots taking place on two separate occasions, the first one with just a female model and the second with both female and male model. The styling is more grunge in the first photoshoot and sexy in the second. I experimented with the photos in both colour and black & white, printing on different kind of textures and also putting the final campaign into billboards, which I think worked the best, due to the combination of black & white photos and the red Guess logo.

24
brief - number 24
I decided to lose as much weight as possible over the course of 24 days, and record every aspect of it. I collected evidence of food and drink consumed every day, and photographed what I couldn’t archive. Every morning I weighed and measured myself, and I also kept a precise journal of what I ate and drank, how much I exercised and how I felt in order to illustrate what this drastic change in my daily calorie intake does to my emotions and body. Every few days I took a photo of myself to record my progress and included these in the journal as an evidence. I translated all the collected evidence and recorded information into a piece of artwork, using Candy Jernigan as my main influence.

Zine lookbook
- format: newspaper
- dimensions: A2 folded over - A3
- printing: laser black and white
- binding: staples
- material: newsprint
As part of my development, I was experimenting with the idea of zine lookbook. Something very far from a glossy, high fashion publication, cheap to make and available to all, just like a newspaper. The layout is simple with one, maximum of two photos per page and added detailed description of the dresses. I split the lookbook into 5 looks with each look having one A3 portrait photo, two A4 portrait photos and one or two landscape photos showing all the details and angles of the dresses as well as providing detailed written description.

Runaway
I decided to make a lookbook promoting bridal wear, but rather than making a lookbook about ‘the best day of your life’ I decided to approach it differently; design a lookbook about the worst day of your life, the day you got stood up at the altar and humiliated and heartbroken, decided to run away. I got inspired by Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and poem by Carol Ann Duffy about his main character, Miss Havisham, whose fiance had left her hours before their wedding many years ago, and she’s still grieving.
My aim wasn’t to sell garments, I wanted to sell a feeling. Sadness, bitterness, hatred, despair, grief, heartbreak; those are all emotions we don’t usually see in bridal magazines or campaigns for wedding dresses, so it was a challenge. By experimenting with textures, colours, layout, text and shapes I believe I have managed to effectively draw the viewer in.

Etc.
'Etc.' was a magazine project, accompanied by a personal study. Taking inspiration from Sibella Court and Jamie Reid, I designed a magazine aimed at creative individuals, but those ones with DIY attitude. The pages from the final piece were then locally exhibited along with analytical drawings and photos.

Knives
what - a cutting instrument composed of a blade and a handle into which is the blade fixed, either rigidly or with a joint.
why - I have chosen knives as the focus of my project because I feel this subject matter has a lot of potential behind it. Knives were invented by humans for the purpose of survival, many years ago in stone age. Nowadays we use them every day as cutlery tools without even thinking about it. In books, films and art knives have always been used to create the atmosphere of danger, tension, violence and are often associated with butchers, murderers, crime, blood, misery, darkness, scars. I thought it would be interesting to use this concept of something evil like a knife and portrait it within fashion and beauty.
