i just finished jtv and i'm curious if michael didn't die how would've they written jafael as endgame? like what was the alternative storylines, the writers envisioned if michael had not died? or how would you have envisioned it?
michael was originally meant to die in the s1 finale but they changed it bc the cast and crew loved brett so much. i think ideally i would have had michael killed off as originally intended, while jane was still with rafael. perhaps her having the baby combined with her grief and guilt would lead to a break up because that was necessary.
i honestly loved s3&4 and wouldn't really change anything about it. my biggest gripe with the show is how they made michael so important that he overshadowed everything, including jane. in the end i would have liked for him to have had been faking his own death for a case which would have knocked him off the pedestal jane and the audience had him on and also given him more agency as an individual character as well. if petra hadn't had jr, i actually really liked the idea of her and michael tbh.
i also wish the show had focused more on rafael's mental issues, season five attempted it but i read rafael as having bipolar disorder more than depression honestly and focusing on him and how his childhood affected him and his relationship with money and family would have built a much more strong foundation for his character.
there are a few other ways i think it could've gone but i'm a little out of touch with overthinking the show 😂
