In the past, Saiburi was the first-class city. Both sides of the Saiburi River were prosperous communities and the west of the city was next to the sea. .Many of the Thai kings used to travel along this river to visit their people. Notably, there are some old photos King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) of Thailand. These photos recorded important events when the king visited the court of justice, city hall and the palaces of city lords in Pattani Province. Mansions of the governors and government buildings were constructed in European style. There was also the construction, beautification and maintenance of some government buildings, Thai temples, mosques and shrines. The present king Bhumibholadulyadej (Rama IX) visited the South and resided at Taksin Ratchaniwet palace. He and a group of civil officials traveled by Kolae boats along Saiburi River to visit villagers there many times in the past. Those villagers were mainly Thai Buddhist, Chinese-Thai, and Thai Muslim. The king also had a lifetime Thai Muslim friend called Wadeng Putae, 96 years old, who died in 2012.

At the present, there are many good things happening in communities around the Saiburi river basin including a group of young artists who join and work together to develop and decorate the area. This opens more opportunity for residents in the communities there to show their talents and practices in art, agricultural and industrial sectors. For example, in the art sector we can see many beautiful handicrafts such as paintings and sculptures. Moving on to the agricultural sector, the growing of rice, garden plants and farm crops provide better yields and quality. Lastly, at industrial sector, the production of coconut oil, shipwright, bird cage and goldsmith are important industries in the area. Moreover, the fishery businesses require handmade fishing boats to catch fish and seafood. For many decades, the famous products from the female groups are textiles, fish crisp rice and boodoo sauce used in southern food cooking.

ในอดีตสายบุรีเคยเป็นหัวเมืองระดับหนึ่ง ทั้งสองฝั่งของแม่น้ำสายบุรีคือชุมชนที่มี ความอุดมสมบูรณ์และทางตะวันตกของเมืองอยู่ติดกับทะเล พระมหากษัตริย์ไทย หลายพระองค์เคยเสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปตามแม่น้ำสายนี้เพื่อทรงเยี่ยมประชาชน ครั้งสำคัญคือมีพระบรมฉายาลักษณ์ของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 5 ซึ่งบันทึกเหตุการณ์สำคัญตอนที่พระองค์เสด็จไปเยี่ยมศาลยุติธรรม ศาลากลางประจำเมืองและวังของเจ้าเมืองในจังหวัดปัตตานี คฤหาสน์ของผู้ว่า ราชการและอาคารต่างๆของรัฐมีการปลูกสร้างตามแบบยุโรป มีการก่อสร้าง ประดับตกแต่ง และการบำรุงรักษาอาคารสถานที่ราชการบางแห่ง ตลอดจนวัดไทย มัสยิด และตลอดจนถึงศาลเจ้า

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดชรัชกาลที่ 9 ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนิน เยือนภาคใต้และทรงประทับที่พระตำหนักทักษิณราชนิเวศน์ พระองค์เสด็จพระราช ดำเนินพร้อมด้วยกลุ่มข้าราชการโดยเรือกอและ ล่องไปตามแม่น้ำสายบุรีเพื่อเสด็จ เยี่ยมประชาชนหลายครั้งในอดีต ชาวบ้านในแถบนี้ส่วนใหญ่เป็นชาวไทยพุทธ ชาว ไทยเชื้อสายจีนและชาวไทยมุสลิม พระองค์ทรงมีพระสหายชาวไทยมุสลิมที่ชื่อว่า นายวาเด็ง ปูเต๊ะ อายุ 96 ปี ปัจจุบันเสียชีวิตไปแล้วในปีพ.ศ. 2555

ในปัจจุบันมีสิ่งดีๆ หลายอย่างเกิดขึ้นในชุมชนรอบฝั่งแม่น้ำสายบุรีรวมทั้งกลุ่ม ศิลปินที่มาเข้าร่วมและทำงานด้วยกันเพื่อพัฒนาและตกแต่งพื้นที่ เปิดโอกาส ให้กับผู้อยู่อาศัยในชุมชนให้แสดงพรสวรรค์และการฝึกฝนในด้านศิลปะ การเกษตร และอุตสาหกรรม ตัวอย่างเช่น ในส่วนที่เป็นด้านศิลปะเราจะเห็นงานหัตถกรรมที่มี ความสวยงามเช่นภาพเขียนและงานประติมากรรม ด้านเกษตรกรรมคือการปลูกข้าว พืชสวน พืชไร่ให้มีผลผลิตและคุณภาพดีกว่าเดิม ท้ายสุดในด้านอุตสาหกรรม การ ผลิตน้ำมันมะพร้าว ต่อเรือ ทำกรงนก และการทำทอง เป็นอุตสาหกรรมที่สำคัญ���น พื้นที่ นอกจากนี้ธุรกิจการประมงใช้เรือหาปลาที่ต่อกันเองเพื่อจับปลาและสัตว์น้ำที่ เป็นอาหารทะเล เป็นเวลาหลายสิบปีแล้วที่ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีชื่อเสียงจากกลุ่มสตรีคือ การทอผ้า ทำข้าวเกรียบปลาและน้ำบูดูที่ใช้สำหรับทำอาหารภาคใต้

ก่อนการเสด็จสวรรตของพระองค์ท่าน กิตติยังได้จัดทำหน้าเพจ facebook ผมรักในหลวง กิตติ พลศักดิ์ขวา นอกจากเพื่อเป็นการเผยแพร่พระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์ของพระองค์ท่านที่เขาเคยเขียนตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน และเป็นการสะท้อนความรู้สึกอย่างตรงไปตรงมาของเขาในฐานะพสกนิกรชาวไทยคนหนึ่งที่มีต่อพระองค์ท่านดังชื่อเพจ ยังเพื่อร่วมเป็นอีกช่องทางในการเผยแพร่พระบรมราโชวาทและพระราชดำรัสของพระองค์ท่าน

      “ผมเป็นคนบ้านนอกครับ รู้สึกอย่างไรกับพระองค์ท่านก็พูดตรงๆ ก็เลยตั้งชื่อเพจว่า ผมรักในหลวง กิตติ พลศักดิ์ขวา

      ผมยังมีโครงการที่จะทำหนังสือรวมพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์,พระบรมราโชวาท และพระราชดำรัส เพื่อเทิดเพระเกียรติพระองค์ท่านด้วย เป็นโครงการที่คิดจะทำมาก่อนที่พระองค์ท่านจะเสด็จสวรรคต และอยากจะเขียนพระบรมสาทิสลักษณ์ชุด “วิชางานช่าง” ขึ้นมาอีกชุด เพื่อหารายได้มอบให้มูลนิธิพระดาบส แม้พระองค์ท่านจะเสด็จสวรรคตแล้ว แต่ผมไม่ล้มเลิกความตั้งใจ จะยังคงเดินหน้าต่อ”

      ด้วยเหตุที่พระองค์ท่านทรงมีพระมหากรุณาธิคุณอย่างล้นพ้นต่อชีวิตของคนทำงานศิลปะเช่นเขามาโดยตลอด หลังได้น้อมนำพระบรมราโชวาทและพระราชดำรัสไปปฏิบัติและเห็นผลเป็นที่ประจักษ์ จึงอยากให้คนทั่วไป หรืออย่างน้อยๆสมาชิกในครอบครัวของตัวเองได้น้อมนำไปปฏิบัติด้วย

      “ถ้าเราแค่อ่านแค่ฟังพระบรมราโชวาทและพระราชดำรัส เราอาจจะแค่ประทับใจ ไม่เห็นผลชัดเจนเท่าไหร่ แต่ถ้าเราน้อมนำมาปฏิบัติ มันจะเห็นผลชัด

      ผมเป็นคนหนึ่งที่ได้รับผลของการปฏิบัติ ผมจึงอยากเผยแพร่ต่อ อย่างน้อยก็ให้คนในครอบครัวและลูกหลานผม ได้ปฏิบัติตาม

      แค่พระบรมราโชวาทและพระราชดำรัสเรื่องศรษฐกิจพอเพียงเรื่องเดีย��ก็ช่วยชีวิตเราได้เยอะแล้ว เพราะทำให้เรารู้จักตัวเอง เดินทางสายกลางตามหลักศาสนาพุทธ ทำให้ทุกอย่างในชีวิตดำเนินไปโดยปกติสุข มีความพอดี ไม่มากไม่น้อย สมเหตุ สมผล

      พอพระองค์ท่านเสด็จสวรรคต หลายคนอาจรู้สึกเหมือนขาดที่พึ่ง ไม่มีพระองค์ท่านอยู่กับพวกเราแล้ว แต่คำสอนของพระองค์ท่านยังอยู่ และถ้าเราน้อมนำไปปฏิบัติ ก็เหมือนกับพระองค์ท่านยังอยู่กับ���วกเราตลอดไป ไม่ได้ไปไหน”

ความรู้สึกที่มีต่อพระองค์ท่าน ….ผ่านเทคนิควิธีการสร้างสรรค์

The works of art from Anurot are well known and followed by many people who love his unique art. In the past he had exhibitions in Thailand and then his creations were decorated in Wat Nhong Saw temple in Hua Hin District, Prajuab Kirikhan Province.

First, you must understand that Buddha’s doctrines teach us to look at things to gain knowledge, to put misery out of our mind. So it is with a shroud, which is a piece of fabric that is used to wrap the body of one who has surpassed all mortal lusts. The intensity of each breath drawn varies from person to person as with lust within us all.  Cadavers are without lust, wrapped in white linen to be embraced by purity. Pieces of cloth sewn together by vertical and horizontal seams reflect the rising of life and its cessation. The dye represents lusts that are buried deep within and arduous to uproot. It illustrates that lust is like dye, it has to be purged from the soul. Change has begun on the surface of the linen. Truths become corrupt. When witnessed they are acknowledged and purged from the soul on which they have clung through time and conditioning. Detachment sets in and the soul is nurtured. Artistic creativity is generated and realized in the blending of substance and content into veritable elements to become contemporary art on a length of linen. The art will lead you to thought and knowledge for peace of mind and to understand “Buddhism Wisdoms.”

Anurot is the artist who attempts to present the viewpoints about art and philosophy of Buddhism. His previous two exhibitions (Shroud and Stacked Shroud) were profoundly insightful. Candles were used to paint on the cloth in the same method as batik cloth.
