It cannot be said enough that if you willingly live next to a concentration camp and get harmend in anyway by the inmates of that camp that's on you, you deserved it and it needs to happen again.

Donate to the Balousha family here
You can reach this family by reaching out to Mahrah ( @mahrahpalestine ) or her brother Mahmoud ( @palestinian95 ). Their family's campaign was vetted by 90-ghost.
Tumblr media
They live without water, without electricity, without food, without money, without internet, without communications.
I asked Mahrah what she would like others to know, and she said:
"Tell them that our greatest ambition in Gaza has become to obtain a loaf of bread. We have nothing to help except the donation campaign because going to aid means death there."
Recently her brother attempted to wait for aid, but guns were fired on the people waiting for aid and he narrowly escaped with his life. During this genocidal famine, Mahrah has been sustaining her family on what she can afford from donations. Please help them.

it's still really impressive to me that china just like literally intentionally blew up its housing bubble as a deliberate policy decision.
like Xi said houses are for living, not for speculation and the whole system took a huge chunk of pain in a growth sense in a way that ultimately serves to solve a problem that is extremely familiar and extremely intractable to people in the west: increasing housing unaffordability.
that was a decision that was an economic hit on basically the entire top 20% of its wealth distribution that were, much like in much of the developed world, using their house as a primary store of wealth. very brave. imo.

Cis men have this complete disconnect and disbelief towards the evil men do which is so at odds with the reality we live in. The Man of the Year trend where women post a highly audacious abusive message or voice note a man sent them is highlighting this. Dudes in the comments are like “Where are you finding these guys? I’ve never met a guy like that in my life.” You haven’t? You’ve never once met an unhinged dude who threatened to beat you up over something petty? You didn’t have any friends growing up who had terrible fathers? You’ve never had a coworker or an acquaintance who spoke about how his wife pisses him off so badly he wants ‘to beat the shit out of her sometimes’? Even if you swear up and down it’s not you and it’s not your friends, you have to have met a guy like that. You know you have. They’re everywhere.

Numbers can be tricky. On the day of my 110th birthday, I'll be one day younger than John Tukey was on his.
Tukey [Explained]
Transcript Under the Cut
[Text formatted as a block quote] "Far better an approximate answer to the right question, which is often vague, than an exact answer to the wrong question, which can always be made precise."
John W. Tukey The Future of Data Analysis (1962)
Caption below the comic: Happy approximate birthday to John Tukey, author of my favorite statistics quote, who was born 110.000 years ago sometime this week.

I get how the whole "listening to music as a dick-measuring contest for who can listen to the most obscure band" thing can get grating sometimes but I don't think people realize just how vital that phenomenon is for new up and coming bands to get a foot in the door. it's understandable to be annoyed by hipsterism but unless you want all music to be industry plants and former child stars you're just going to have to accept it as part of the social ecosystem.

Idk why so many people have stopped supporting Palestine...
I just want to let you know that my twin brothers, who are my only asset in this life, are sleeping next to tanks trying to get American aid.Yes, danger has become their bedside companion, cuz we have no other choice.
People are being killed every day just trying to get a bag of flour or a box of foodPlease don't turn a blind eye...every donation makes a real difference.

Iranian state television on Tuesday afternoon urged people to remove WhatsApp from their smartphones, alleging without specific evidence that the messaging app gathered user information to send to Israel. In a statement, WhatsApp said it was “concerned these false reports will be an excuse for our services to be blocked at a time when people need them the most.” WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption, meaning a service provider in the middle can’t read a message.
