welcome back coroner's gambit strings! gosh i love this song. it's so soft and calm and so hopeful and spring. this song IS spring. it's grooving. it's minty. i'm running out of adjectives. i really love this song. for a while i was obsessed with snowdrops, the idea of a pretty little flower that blooms during the harshest part of winter, but i'm starting to warm up to the onions that grow in spring. again i love the string blend here.

loving the big guitar! scratchy vocals! big story! lots of big! some would say... too big... i really want to like this one but it's just not drawing me in. big fan of the story setting and characters though! i think this one could grow on me just hasnt yet.

the guitar is really reminding me of another song but i can't put my finger on it or remember very strongly. honestly i like the instrumental far more than the lyrics or the vocals. still, this is short and sweet.

GROOVING! i love the harmonica (?) on this song, it really elevates it. the lyrics are fun and pretty strong. i much prefer the vocals of live versions to the recorded version, but the recorded version is still good. i don't have a ton to say about this besides it's good! it's vivid it's fun it's cool!

among the heartbreakers of the coroner's gambit, this isn't my favorite. that being said i like this song a whole lot. basic instrumental, heartbreaking lyrics, heartfelt singing. a strong track.

nero and seneca! who doesn't love nero and seneca! i love these lyrics, i LOVE these lyrics i think the story of nero and seneca is incredibly compelling and jd is so good at the illustrative storytelling that the story demands. also i love the singing! unfortunately the instrumental just...doesnt work for me sorry trick mirror nation.

an absolute favorite. this song knocks me out every time. i think i listened to it for the first time live during the rule of three tour and i was on my ass shocked. im very famously partial to tmg songs with strings and i love the haunting sound of the instrumentals here. the lyrics are so evocative, the sound is so comforting, this is just such a great song.

hello moses! this is a big song! there's a lot of references and story going on here which i really appreciate! i like the vocals and john's emotions, but a lot is lost in the crunch of the original recording. the instrumental also starts to grate as repetitive after a few minutes. overall, not bad, but not a standout, i prefer live versions to the release.
