Film Doc Reflection

1.What is the purpose of submitting a video in a writing class? The video is to show that we can be multimedia and to show that we can use rhetorical choices, logos, ethos, pathos in a video. It’s also helps us use different genres to get a point across.

2.Explain how you composed you message (purpose) in multiple forms? Our group used interviews, past videos, text and photos to show our purpose.

3.Why do you think the structure and delivery of the film doc worked to achieve its advocacy. I think the interview of the Utep task director worked the best to support what we were advocating for because it showed creditable evidence of what there plan wAs when concealed carry would begin and how Utep was working to get reedy for the bill to begin.

I chose to use text as my rhetorical choice to answer question number three. In order to explain what worked best for our group in clear txt to get my answer across.

Week 13

The genre I chose for the op-ed assignment is writing a paper. I feel like it will be easier for me to do the paper then doing a video or poster and meet all the criteria needed for everything on the rubric.

1. My research choices for my research questions include gun control research books found in the Utep library, online articles, and my primary research survey. The first photo is used to show what I used for my research questions.

2. I found that the research books helped with my paper more than my primary research survey did in order to answer my research questions. The second photo shows research books for examples of what methodologies worked for my research paper.

3. I think it works because it is published, credited and gives a detailed insight in the topic I was researching. I do not believe it always works because books take a long time to read and to understand the concept of the nook. it also may be difficult to find a lot of books for a certain research 

4. For question 3 I used the last two gifs to express the long process of using books for research sources and how consuming and tiring it is.

First example: In my first example I need improvement in my introduction where the first paragraph is to long and when I shorten it. I will need to have a smooth transition from one part of my background into gun control to the other part. Second example: I need to work better on relating my sources for both positions of the gun control debate. I don’t explain in detail enough how my sources relate to the question being addressed.

The first two gifs expresses how I feel after hours of trying to find good sources for my research on my topic and the bottom picture is when I realize they don't connect.

The thing that helped me with APA citations and in text citations was the Purdue Owl.
